What if you want the front to have a little gather at the center ,how are you going to do it?

You'll need to create a pattern instead of cutting directly on the fabric. Then you'll do "slash and spread method" on the neck. The slashes should be from the neck to chest line

Make the neckline measurement wider than you neckline measurement,that way you will have enough fabric on the neck area to pleat into the band.
