For me, I get way more out of Transcribing because captioning takes like twice as long and I can do longer transcription assignments for the same pay per minute. Captioning is more fun, but I can only do like 20-30 minute assignments. Any longer and it becomes quite torturous bc you do have to watch everything multiple times for syncing. I tend to do captioning maybe once every two weeks to break up the monotony of transcribing. But in general I don't think it's worth it. It's twice as much work for just a little higher pay. I think the pay should be way higher.

Any ideas if Spanish to English captioning pays more? I did the assessment and it was way harder than just normal captioning. I had to translate then phrase it correctly

@@mahadohassan9360 congrats man. I'll say this: I was able to find one real mistake - style-guide wise - I made in the captioning assignment, but I don't think I got any grammar questions wrong. But such mistake is very minor and specific one and I'm 100% baffled that they would deny my application in consequence. But whatever. I'll try again. One more thing: did they ask for a verification ID or driver's license from the US or the country you live in?

I do translate transcription for an Indian firm for $1.8 a minute. English to Spanish. If you live in Europe or USA you have to be a masoquist to work for that company.

Yes the application for the foreign portion is very different, easier in my opinion. They have you submit 2 videos, one in English where they give you 2 minutes to talk about a movie that you like, what is it about and why you like it, then submit a video on your native language (mine is Brazilian Portuguese) talking about your hometown, how was it growing up there and talk about popular places to see and foods to eat… Nothing to do with the First two applications at all!

It's because of an obnoxious law that was passed a few years ago in California making it harder to use someone as an independent contractor in the state of California. Many freelancers lost jobs. Chunks of that law were reversed by a citizen initiative. But I guess you are reporting that despite this, Rev is still not hiring persons based in California.
I applied on Thursday and the email confirming my application said it normally takes a few days. if I don’t get it would they still email me? Just curious, I know it’s only been 2 days so I’m not tooo worried yet

Yes, I just got accepted. They are making me do another video but it’s more as a first assignment. They took so long, I forgot what to do

I waited 5 months. If you failed you will receive that mail within a few days. If it takes longer it's a good sign. Just be patient
