the backgrounds are a bit too busy, makes it hard to track whats going on.
When you are actually playing it, totally different feeling.

Maybe yes but with worse backgrounds and glitchy palettes.

No, it was made in the MUGEN engine.
As is they'll likely have to load it onto a custom cartridge with expanded memory. Otherwise there's gonna be a lot of optimization work needed.
Id love to see a Thonolan or Star Man run next!
