There’s levels to good Mexican food: food trucks, hole in the walls, established sit-downs, and bougie eateries. IMO, if the place is heavily decorated, the food is trash. Word! I'm an L.A. Native and my dad is too. But he has a slight country Texas because both his (Black) parents left Texas during the Great Migration after WW2. Most of the Black folks here in L.A. (our grandparents now) came out here in the 50s and 60s from Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama just like Vince says. Because we were segregated, a lot of us do have those slightly southern accents.
I have a typical slightly Valley accent because I was born and raised here, as was my Latina mom. But I DO start sounding like my dad when I hang out with the fam because I pick up his speech patterns 😂

Vince is accurate af about the Bay’s weather. It’s always hella chilly and brisk in SF. But if you’re over in Oakland and the East Bay, it’s always about a 5 to 10 degree difference, esp if you’re away from the water
