Not 70s kitsch - but think more mid century, earth tones and wooden details. Also great opportunity to make the bay window a banquet for a round kitchen table. Taking out the tardi closet and installing wooden slats to help designate an entry area would also be cool. The back corner room would make a great tv den.
This is so exciting!!! We are currently renovating a 1962 house in a great neighbourhood too! We don't have a Chris though. :(. It will be cool to see what you do with this one!
Wait! What! I had to rewind the ending to see if I heard that right. So congratulations on your new home. That park sounds amazing. When I was younger (mid 30s) and lived in Denver I used to ride my bike single track. Also did some hiking of course. So cool you are outdoors people. Unfortunately, I'm not anymore. It will be exciting to see what you come up with for a floor plan. Standing in the living room looking at the staircase, I was thinking the same thing you were. It's a great staircase. I even like the existing railing. Transoms over the bedroom doors would be great. If you do use the first floor bedroom as a family room, maybe open it to the kitchen to make a great room? I'm sure you've already thought of that. Just don't forget to add a charging station for the cordless vacuum 😂😊. Chris, you're not a pessimist. Heather is right. You're a realist. And pragmatic. I'm both, too, and get labeled a pessimist by people who don't know better. Thankfully, Heather recognizes the difference. You both did a spectacular job on the riverside house and you'll knock this one out of the park, too. I'll be here cheering you on! Love you guys.
You heard that right! Now it will be even harder to keep the budget on track. I love the railing too!! Love those kitchen/family room ideas, next week we get to start opening walls to check what’s in them, I really hope we can open the space up a lot!
@DrapersDoingRenos it will be interesting to see what you do about the fireplace. Personally, I don't care for them because they take up a wall that could be used for something else. But then I'm in Florida so there's no point.
This one is going to turn out beautiful since is going to be for you guys congratulations on your new home , can’t wait to see you guys remodel it ❤ ps I might get ideas for my home love your style
Did we surprise you!?!? What would you change first in the blue beast!?!?

That's a very weird made house. Good luck!! I'm sure it will look amazing if you take it on 😊 oh and I think the fireplace is hideous 😂😂 sorry
Can’t wait to see what you two do! I love heathers comments that …” I didn’t notice this” and Chris saying “ I did”…you guys are a great team.

I reallly hope y’all embrace the 70s vibe and decor. It’s a great era and Pinterest is awash with 70s inspiration.
