Great show Dan! I learned 2 new things from your video. Silver can react to gold, and you can recharge your dessicant packs by putting them out in the sun. Thank you! For me, when I was a little coin collector I carefully stored the majority of my coins in pvc flips. Labeled, organized, protected... Not so much 😅 Years later, nearly all of those coins melded to the pvc, which acted like shrink wrap around the coin, leaving green residue. A bit of a heartbreak, but it did prompt me to thoroughly research safe, storage options. Air-tite brand capsules are one of my favorite options. I also use the non-plasticized (non-pvc) flips b/c they're cheap. However, they do remind me of the flips I used as a kid, and so I'm a bit weary of them. BTW, I used acetone along with a q-tip and blotted gently on the coin's surface to remove the pvc. No need to rinse with water as the acetone evaporates nearly instantly. That's my tip. Thanks again!
Hi Dan great video ,was wondering how you store youre afl, nrl, ram folder sets of coins and coloured coin, please only showed small card storage on video, cheers tim
My pelican case saved me last week when my houses main water pipe burst directly above where my metals are stored. It flooded the entire room and destroyed everything, but inside the pelican case, not a single drop of moisture.
For the Ultra Pro 100 Standard Trading Card Storage Box Heavy Duty Card Storage $3.95 each, I get them from eBay "Online Coins Collectables Lismore" and for the 40 mm Silver Coin Holder Coin Case Coin Capsules Storage Container with Storage Organizer Box for Coin Collection Supplies (60 Pieces) from Amazon. Hope this helps. Thanks Dan
I found this information; 1 tip regardless of if it's silver, gold or platinum,” said Amanda Gizzi of Jewelers of America. “Keeping them separate will keep them looking their best.” For silver, Gizzi advised using tarnish-free storage boxes specifically designed for the metal. Hope this helps. Dan
I get the Lighthouse ULTRA PERFECT FIT Coin Capsules 40.6mm Suit 1oz Silver American Eagle $9.95 each box on eBay from "Online Coins Collectables Lismore" hope that helps. Thanks Dan
