What alternative phrase would you use to represent HCET?
Holy cow, extreme tacos
Hey, Can Equinox Tank?
Horny Crabs Enter Tunisia
Hek, Clem eats tortillas?!
I knew about HCET but "Harrow chasis everytime" got me rolling 🤣🤣
I never knew this HCET thing existed, thank you for explaining it so well
I knew about HCET, but gave up trying to figure it out in my head. Your chart is magnificent.
Since the lich improvements I've been getting magnetic progenitor weapons and adding viral and maybe heat to everything. Probably not optimal, but it's super efficient.
I got a good giggle out of "Harrow Chassis Every Time"
Thank you for all of your hard work over the years Kengineer! Me and my WF friends all place you as our favorite Warframe content creator. I'm taking a brief break from WF for elden ring, but I'll be sure to keep tuning in for updates whenever you post new vids!
HCET is the reason Thermal Transfer is tricky to take advantage of for saving elemental mods. Due to HCET you have to go very out of your way to stop Blast from forming. You have to run Electric or Toxin mod to override HCET even if you have innate toxin or electric. It's so annoying.
It can be reaallly fun tho, when you find good weapons and frames to take advantage the swapping on the fly.
I just discovered this today when I had no idea about HCET and was really confused about why Thermal Transfer was giving me unexpected damage types.
10 years of war frame and always learn something new from your videos. Amazing.
Honestly, I don’t really watch these for the Warframe content anymore, I just come here for the funny quips and to listen to that delicious voice that elaborates on Warframe’s quirks and spaghetti code
This video should be made by the DE long time ago and posted on their main channel for all to understand. Great job!
I want to point out 2 things:
1) Saryn's toxic lash doesnt add toxin damage, just forced toxin procs
2) When 2 elements combine, the "emojis" the parenthesis are always presented in the HCET order, so blast for example will always appear as (heat + cold) and never as (cold + heat)
To clarify, Toxic_Lash *does* add toxin damage: treated as a separate instance of multishot & scaled off strength, _that_ 'effective' extra bullet has 100% status and 100% toxic weighting
It does *not* add a toxin proc to the weapon, so procs will only scale off strength, toxin-mods and DoT buffs.
"Harrow chassis everytime" got me XD
Legendary rank 4 here. I have definitely noticed most of the things you mentioned and even thought the dual elemental riven combine scheme(bottom to top) was a bug xD
But I couldn't explain it as well as you did, naturally.
Another exception to the combining rules is presented by the electric damage gained by shooting through Volt's shields as it combines only for projectile weapons while hitscan weapons only gain the standalone electric damage.
"This is something everyone learns pretty early on as it's so fundamental"
Me with 495 hours played finding this video while specifically looking how elemental mod order actually combines.
Appreciate you, now have incredible respect for you mapping everything out, as well as HCET of course, perfect
I'm mr21 (returning after a couple of years, but still). Thought I understood this but watched it anyway. I was wrong! Thanks for explaining 😊
Thanks a bunch! Really educational. Never knew about HCET but was always confused how to get the element combos I want on some weapons. Now I get it just fine.
This is such a helpful channel. Nice to learn so many mechanical factoids to store away for later!
2:43 every damn time😭
This guy is so smart, I'm glad I found this channel.
I am so glad you mentioned Toxic Lash on saryn i was sat here this whole video thinking "have I been messing up my dps the entire time?" but thankfully not haha...
As per usual with your videos, l learn something new about the game no matter how fundamental the topic is. Well done 👏🏽
As a Lavos main with all 4 60/60 mods in various combos on my Cedo/Hystrix/Xoris build this was interesting, but ultimately not important as he chucks out every status effect all the time. 😋
But there are weapons that have forced procs for specific elements,
meaning they can have 3 status or more. The one that comes right to
mind is the Epitaph with Cold procs on Radial attack, is there a list for
such weapons?
Hystrix is another one. The funny thing about the hystrix is the forced proc gets the damage bonus of the elemental mods even if they are combined into another element. If you mod for viral and use poison quills, the forced proc does more damage from you having a toxin mod on AND you still proc viral. Really fun and underrated weapon imo
Ik that on the warframe wiki on each dmg types have lists of force procs
Dude I never knew this was a thing, I just swapped around like a madman till I get the correct combination that I want
Btw, thanks for the vid/explanation... future knowledge will help
EDIT:I was WRONG adding in an already existing element (from pregenor) and combining with something else allows you to have what I wanted.
IE: I wanted heat on a kuva quartaak that had an electric progenator. slap an electric mod in first, then, something else.
Man I really needed this. I get so confused every time
I've always just moved the mods around until the right combination element appeared when having more than 2 elements. Thanks for the explanation. 😂
Three thousand hours and I never knew about HCET
I tried to figure out a way to link HCET to the MIGHTY SEER but I failed. I need to study up on my extremely stretched connections
Didn't think I needed this but I did. I now completely understand how it works
amazingly explained
I never even researched my school lessons but this video made me to do
Thanks for this vid, very informative and that Harrow Chassis Every Time is pure gold 😂😂😂
Thank You, great video.
For the part of the video where he made viral from toxic and electricity. What happens with the extra toxic? Does it just get removed, or does the toxic enhance the viral, or does it proc separately?
Tysm I couldn’t get corrosive to work for me so very helpful vid thanks
Thank God the system is so uncomplicated & straightforward 🙄🤯 seriously though thanks for all the information and for HCET... the Harrow chassis reference was the perfect way for it to stick in my head forever🤣
Harrow Chassis Every Time
now, this is some big brain moment right here
Why is this suddenly coming up in the community? This is not the first video I've seen going over this published in the last few weeks. You didn't mention DE changing anything so I'm assuming they didn't. Just curious. Great video btw 👍🏻
Kinda had an insight of this HCET as I always get it wrong, now I clearly see why🤔
Great video, as always.
Keep them coming.
Thank you, just thank you
Saryn is especially fun for this mess. Spores augment, Toxic Lash, and a subsumed ability like Volt's Shock or Oberon's Smite which aren't counted as damage buffs because they get it from an augment. Three elemental damage buffs on one frame, and that's before modding. No other frame can do this as far as I know.
Dont forget gauss got a similar augment too giving either blast or heat and cold!
And nourish for viral
And toxic lash gets boosted from venom dose and viral from nourish
Harrow Chassis Every Time - Thank you so much for that. xD
well done
I was waiting for this
Thanks Mr Kengineer, I'm now completely lost.
Thank you so much, I innately knew this, but as someone else said previously I got tired of trying to figure it out, it was getting annoying and I don’t have the simulacrum yet to test things /:
We just need a slot setting for each weapon where the additional elements go between the mod slots. Not suggesting this needs to apply for pure innate elements too, but it could.
the Electricity damage granted by shooting through the Mutalist Quanta's alt fire also does not stack with other elements, though i dont think its working like toxin lash, where that is a seperate damage instance, i think its just. . weird.
:) This was one of my 1st thoughts.
Mutalist Quanta treats the electricity as a combined element on hitscan weapons. It combines on projectile secondaries and the mutalist quanta itself, and follows HCET specifically in those examples.
For everything else, You can imagine it as a Smite Infusion, but for electricity, as it does affect elemental weighting, but it can allow you to have things like Modded Corrosive Bonus Electric.
Welcome to Featureframe.
Yeah, Saryn infused with Smite Infusion is hilarious for buffs
Thanks for clearly and visually explaining this.
I have triple elemental riven for my Dragon Nikana stick.
*HOW DOES THE MUTALIST QUANTA FIT IN!* ;) .
Shoutout to Grendel's Nourish for applying toxin to some abilities. Still need to sort out which/why.
I haven't seen it do this. However, some abilities count as weapon damage and can be affected by certain external modifiers that shouldn't apply normally.
Most of these abilities are projectiles or spawn entities, though not all of them do. Check the Theorem Demulcent Wiki page. If it interacts with the abilities listed, it's like Theorem Demulcent. If it's not on the list and also *not* an exalted weapon ability (or pseudo exalted like whipclaw/landslide) that is benefiting from Nourish, it's working in the inverse situations Demulcent would.
You can actually get all 6 if you mod for gas and have a friend cast Nourish
Not related to the video, but is there anything that affects the drop rate of key in disruptions? I'm right now it's taking me longer per round than survival. I'm killing everything that gets in my path and defending all the points. That's not the issue. Im just waiting around for minutes at a time trying to kill things that drop keys. It doesn't matter if I search then out or go looking for it. Does bekros or anyone affect the drop rates of keys?
Would u make a video abt Mesa regulators ? And how to make them work in SP
had a guando prime setup for index that had both "viral and corrosive" at once, went to max mods (missed afew last upgrades) and broke it now and can't put viral and corrosive at once anymore don't if there'd be a way to fix it again
Ok so to be 100% clear.
If I have a heat progenitor tenet cycron and a riven with cold and toxin. I would have a viral heat weapon on 1 mod?
Where did you get your PHD on warframe degree? Which university?
Okay, didnt know about this HCET thing, i kinda hate it
Like, why would they let abilities alter how you set up your gun after the fact
I do think abilities should be extra ontop instead of changing elements, kinda like how saryn is an exception. Like too confusing even afte the breakdown
Is the bonus electrical damage from shooting through a Volt shield also exempt from HCET?
IIRC Volts Electric Shield adds elec damage like toxic lash, it doesn't combine. So if you shoot something through the shield you can get corro blast elec.
@@geminicrest Looking through other comments after posting this comment, I saw the most warfame explanation ever: projectiles can combine according to HCET but hitscan weapons strictly get add on electric
i don't even play the game anymore but i can't stop watching this guy
So what are all the combinations for the elements?
Radiation heat electric
Corrosive toxin electric
Blast heat cold
Viral cold toxin
Magnetic cold electric
Gas heat toxin
Harrow Chassis every time killed me
"Harrow Chassis Every Time" lol
Can you do a video about specters.
Does Volt's passive or shield ability get dragged into HCET or is it unaffected like toxic lash?
Ik in the tips it says electric shield will combine but it doesnt
I'm not sure how, but on my necramech I was able to smash the 4 elemental mods onto it and got viral and radiation somehow. This is weird because it seemed to really want to put cold with heat
Rad is heat and electricity and viral is cold and toxin together so unless I'm misunderstanding that's normal?
@@uncoveredkhan09gaming38 I'm not really sure tbh. For whatever reason, depending on the order I put the elemental mods in, it only sometimes works. That's why I didn't mess with it when I got it to work
You get a like purely for the HCET mnemonic. 😂
Ik this is old but how to I get corrosive heat on my gun that has base electric I'm using pistol pestilence and scorch
you’d have to add an electric mod.
tox, then elec. then hear
Thank you. I understand why if I'm using the same mods my partners do more damage and my build suck. 🤦♂️ This game didn't explain anything. How do you guys find all this?
Harrow Chassis Every Time (weirdly based)
Oh my god I am so sorry to my past team mates for having no concept of this until MR9. Yes, I am a potato...
Harrow chasis every time
It's sad that somone can unintentionally mess up other peoples setups. It's interesting and intricare but seems like it shouln't allow for it to make combinations. Maybe I will feel differently if I ever become a veteran in Warframe.
every time
Dear Kengineer, it only took like 2 seconds from when I decided to complain with this comment, that you finally mentioned Saryn as an outlier. Are you reading minds as a hobby?
I have played for years and had no idea HCET combined this way. I tested for hours trying to figure out the logic behind the elements my Lesion combined to after it activated, and still only came away with "well its the way I want it now, I don't know why, but at least its consistent"
Still waiting on that "how to kiss guide" from you
you'd be surprised of how many people with 500-1k hs just run around with objectively sh*it modding ,wrong elements ,mods that don't work or just straight out missing mods on top of the bad ones , i get that modding can be subjective but when you see a guy mr 20~ running an stuff like that makes you wonder..
Too bad they won't allow PS4 to PC account migration. I miss this game.
Cross save is coming somewhat soon, so you'll get your wish once it happens
I'm a big fan of playing Magnetic Boost Frost in public endless steel path missions
Sup
German Forks
i hate this. i hate every part of this. we should be able to choose the elemental combination damage type from the build screen, based upon the potential combinations available due to mods installed. this whole "the order you put them in" is total rubbish because it leads to, like you say, the damage types changing mid gameplay depending on factors outside your control.
well modding alone wont change the damage type mid mission
@@ovencake523 no but someone else on your team putting a shock damage effect on you CAN impact it, or perhaps the HCET being activated by some other ability, that stuff should really just be "extra" on top, it shouldn't change the underlying combinations
@@davebennett5069 This is the reason I stopped using Thermal Transfer. I really can't know how it will affect anyone else's builds if they get caught in the blast radius.
Harris Chassis Every Time ☹️
sheeesh , 0 hour gang
try path of exile - that game have mechanick's ...
warframe (in comaper) is baby game
