I think the reason the cool kill teams were squatted is because there’s no boxes for them. Little Jimmy can’t walk into a GW store and pick up a Spectrus Kill Team with all the options.
Now I want a game where everyone only takes dedicated transports, and give them all the infantry keyword. You each only start with one model on the board and go. Probably would have to ban bright lances considering only two factions would have access to it. Also, goodbye monke.
that is my feeling on it. I might have fun. The Fleet detachment looks ok and should work for us as a new thing. If it isn't good, at least it is different
I think this a really flavourful and cool change. I could also see using the mentors chapter to stand in for deathwatch and have them mentoring the agents. It also seems like a great way to build an army slowly through playing kill team and combat patrol. Start with a space marine one, sisters, or agents or whatever and build a new one or two for more variety. Then you can get a few vehicles (maybe a knight). It honestly seems like the perfect army for those people who want to play imperium but are stuck between sisters, space marines and all the other options. The imperial black legion or yinnari basically.
For the shooting option, it reads that boltgun and power weapon can be replaced with boltgun and Astartes shield - but curiously they don't then get a close combat weapon. So in melee I guess they just stand there. Maybe lie down and hide under the shield. Obviously I'd house rule a close combat weapon, but great playtesting and proof reading by GW as usual... 😆

@@ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber well, I guess it’s good they’ve fixed it quickly. I’m guessing the print codex and physical data cards might be wrong unless it’s just an error on the digital copy. I was just using my Inquisitorial Stormtroopers as Henchmen-now-Agents with their lasguns as Hemchmen-now-Agent Firearms. Same with my Arbites with Bolters. Two Stormtroops, someone with a plasma pistol... Like the metal priest model from way back when, someone with an eviscerator like the old Hierophant model. That made the base 4 models then I just added in the rest and topped off with a pair of Gun Servitors and pair of Mystics or psyker battle squad/penitent witches to counts as. This reveals how long I have been around BUT it makes use of every old unsupported model. With all the short comings it IS nice to see Servo skulls make a return as tome skulls. Sure most of mine are being used as counts as Cherubs in the Sisters of Battle army but it is nice to see they can properly be used here.
Deathwatch and an inquisitor in a chimera sounds very cramped, powerful. Chimeras are pretty darn good and make a competent light tank, unlike the rhino.
As a infantry focused Guard army, I love that Deathwatch and Grey Knights can now be pulled into my lists. ESPECIALLY with the Deathwatch melee options. I might actually be able to do something in Melee now lol 😂
My hottake is they should make 3d printable STLs(Id expect a DRM on it somehow and likely something about reselling them) for legends units, instead of legendsing them consider them fully supported and call the STLs STCS, it would literally be making more money they wouldn't be making in the first place, earn good will with the community and the marketing is there.
Anti tank is there similair to sister. 2x multimeltas per henchman mounted in a rhino or chimera is Roughly 210pts by leak. That can give them a threat range of 37" not a perfect anti tank unit but usable. It's true a warglaive is cheaper and a stronger but less shots and same threat range.
