This is probably the 1st handpan clip I saw; didn't know what it was for years until a few years back when I found the instrument again. How time flies!
It's been a year or so for me but it's still my favorite also. I share it to introduce people to the hang drum/hand pan. The sounds & music from this instrument always seems to soothe my soul. I look forward to trying one out one day. Hopefully I will know at that point if I would like to buy my own & learn how to play.
This composition is also used in the song 'hang ten' - (the ocean) by Mindseye. I recommend it but prefer the Yuki version.

Weird fun fact about it. While you would probably think it's some old tribal instrument, it's actually a modern one invented in the year 2000. They are very pricey, but very cool instruments.

Someone has a handpan or similar instrument out here in the neighborhood and we love it when they play outside during quarantine. We don't know who it is but I know it is not just my family but others out there also tuning in and we all even asked for an encore, we got it!

I thought this thing was made in the year 2000 in Switzerland
norakat lol the hang drum was made by the Swizz and was modeled after the Indian tabla, that's why it's used by a lot of Indian classical musician's. This instrument has nothing to do with Africa or the carribean.

First time I have listened this music in end of 2011 and fall off love, till now this track part of my life and soul. first time I been introduced to handpan by this video. first time I know about the Legend Yuki Koshimoto. during these long time my life has been changed huge. I was in Bangladesh now living in England. I was single, now father of two child. Passed many good times and bad times, my father passed away, me getting old. But this music never getting old, this music purifies my soul. I dreaming to have a handpan. I wish, I could get a chance to meet my legend, I would be grateful to my life. long live the legend.
