    Porthsmouth is my birthplace and home until I was 9. I left in 1968 to move to a slightly warmer place, South Africa.
    My mom still lives there. I think our childhood home was $14k. My dad was in the Air Force stationed at the time at Pease.
    I'm now in the Philippines, but I'll always remember my great childhood in Portsmouth NH.

    As a Bostonian, the rent prices in Portsmouth actually sound very reasonable lol! Portsmouth is a charming town for sure. Lots of great shops and restaurants. Nice video! 🙂

      So true!! Compared to Boston, Portsmouth is very affordable. I like to consider it a mini version of Boston, with a lot less traffic haha! Thanks for watching, I truly appreciate it!!

    You mention many of the negatives. There are also many positives, including the many types of restaurants available, the historical architecture, entertainment, and, of course, Prescott Park

      Hey @Earle Chase! First off thank you so much for watching the video and commenting. As a Seacoast resident myself I truly believe that Portsmouth is one of the best places to live in the entire country! In fact we actually made another video discussing the PROS and CONS of living in Portsmouth, you can check it out here: ruclips.net/video/WdS5kC7zEIc/видео.html. In that video we definitely talk about all of the amazing things Portsmouth has to offer, but as a real estate agent, if all I did was talk about the good stuff people would just assume I'm trying to sell them something, so I like to give people both the good AND bad so that if someone is planning to move here from across the country they know what to expect. Thank you again for commenting!

    I had a place in Plymouth NH for a few years. Always envied Portsmouth. Went there as a tourist and found the place to be very beautiful and also very unfriendly. Live free or die had never caught on. I would encourage even tourists to give it a miss.

      My mom moved there in the 50s with my dad. She lived in Maine for awhile and it's back in Portsmouth. She said that even with all that time there, people are very clannish.. I was kid when I lived there mostly in the 60s and it was a great place/time to be there.

    Property taxes seem not outrageous in Portsmouth,
    and pretty reasonable New Castle and Rye. Am I correct about that?
    But there’s no inventory in Rye and New Castle.

    • @Livetheseacoast
      @Livetheseacoast  Год назад

      @Rick Clark depending on where you are coming from the taxes in Portsmouth are not outrageous by any means, especially when you factor in no sales tax in NH :). New Castle and Rye are both stunning towns as well but are smaller and the inventory shortage is a real thing right now. Feel free to give me a call 603-303-7361 or text to discuss this more if you are planning a move!

    Which area would you recommend living in if someone is working in portsmouth? (Using public transport)

    • @Livetheseacoast
      @Livetheseacoast  Год назад +1

      Greetings! If you are looking to be close to Portsmouth and have access to the public transport system I would recommend the tri-city area of Dover, Somersworth and Rochester NH. This will put you in close proximity and have access to the public busses. Feel free to schedule a direct call with me for more questions here: calendly.com/avery-realtygroup/15min

    Number 1 reason not to move there: Too effing expensive.

    • @Livetheseacoast

      There's no doubt it is expensive in Portsmouth, however there are some great spots in the surrounding towns that are much more affordable that we usually recommend! Thanks for watching we really appreciate the comment!
