To get that cement off of your hands and stop cement burn use vinegar pour it over your head in the shower if you got cement on you and it will neutralize it and stop that lime burn to works for drywall mud too

It's concrete to you're always going to be playing with the recipe. You have to use your hands to feel the consistency and your common sense to know what will work regardless if you have a recipe or not. Rules do not take the place of brains.
I've been doing rammed earth and papercrete for years and was about to an epic type mix after watching Russians play with styrofoam wood chips and cement to make houses.next time you spray a dome rent a JLG type manlift or buy a small tow behind one. The amonia type smell is caused by the papers fireretardent chemicals reacting with the cement. The hydroseeding paper isn't required to have fireretardent additives in it. Did you check out that Imer Mortar Man 120 vertical mixer?

The EPIC slab is insulative and you can use a wood screw. I'm building a dome using an air-form that is screwed down. With concrete It is a lot more work to hammer drill a hole first then use a cement screw that are more expensive than wood screws.

Hey Harry, Love your work buddy. I paid my money and watched the first of 3 videos. I have some questions- firstly whilst buckets and bags is a valid measure... I’m in Australia and our buckets and bags are of a very different size and weight. I need a recipe I can scale up and down to suit. Eg; The weight of the paper to the volume of water? The weight or volume of cement to the pulp mix? Usually, lightweight fluffy materials are mixed by weight. More stable materials like cement and water- by Parts. I’m a Tiler/Builder by trade. Talking floor screeds, I would say mix 4:1 sand to cement to make a moderate strength floor screed. Anyone reading that ratio can make it- sure they need a sharp sand- not a fatty loam. But the Ratio is key. I’m happy to support you, by paying for your recipes- but please provide a recipe I can actually use. Note: I access the internet with an iPad and iPhone. I only see the option to purchase 3 x videos. I do not see any option to download a .pdf. I’m hoping when the .pdf is available it will provide the recipes to the various mixes. Thanks Harry- Please keep up the good work.

How do you think that epic would perform in this application: I'm interested in making wood molds to produce 4'x8'x1" or even .5" sheets for a siding underlayment, instead of OSB or plywood for a house. Think it'd do the job?
Papercrete is not fireproof. Once lit, it will smoulder until it is dust. add in polystyrene and that is a poisonous mix that will kill anything breathing it in.
@@fabonline9389 This is not a Papercrete! Papercrete uses far less cement than the EPIC that's why papercrete will burn and papercrete has trouble with drying, mold. Plystyrene will not burn past the first layer.
There are 4 deferent mix designs some are the same weight as Aircrete. Yes you can cut EPIC with a saw like Aircrete. EPIC would be better than Aircrete for a dog run.

This is a slab I'm building it is not below grade. I'm not using a sand gravel mix because I will be mounting an air-form using wood screws. If I did a regular concrete mix I would need to use a hammer drill then I would have to use Tapcons. This slab is also insulative I would have needed to put down some kind of foam if to used concrete.
You are correct, paper-crete is not rated for anything below grade or above grade for that matter (Wikipedia "paper-crete"). If you are pouring traditional concrete ring or slab foundations, you would add steel reinforcement with concrete at least a 4,000psi rating to meet code for compression support. Paper-create is not fireproof, waterproof, mold proof, or has the tensile strength to make domes. The compression strength is very good so maybe a hybrid between aircrete and this model could prove useful?
@@fabonline9389Your making a mistake in calling this papercrete this is called EPIC and it is a deferent product from Papercrete it uses a deferent recipe then papercrete. Just like you have concrete and mortar.
Ok. I see. As you know I am lucky enough to not need any insulation. But Colorado is cold. Wouldn't you want a lot more insulation anyway on the ground. I have seen where slabs are poured on top of insulation. Especially radiant heat systems. I am guessing you are planning more insulation for the domes. Maybe spray foam the outside? By the way you can easily shoot wood screws into concrete/mortar if you hit them 24 hours after the pour. I have done this many times. Besides after full cure it still isn't such a big deal to drill. I have a makita rotary hammer that drills concrete like butter it was not a fortune and tap cons are not a big deal (to drive blue concrete screws I use my drill with the clutch set low, never my impact)

So the constant use of the term "Portland cement" iis being said to differentiate from concrete and mortar, am I right?
Yes use breathing protection, I knew a guy worked with cement for years without, he died at 60 from lung issues! And suffered for 20 years!
Forgive my ignorance, but what's the advantage of epic over concrete for a foundation slab?

Yes you could make that work and 5" would be better than 1". What are you thinking of putting on the outside of your underlayment?

No not papercrete. This is much stronger and humidity does not affect it.

Thanks for the heads up on the mobile. Your right setting up a site for the first time is a pain in the butt. Mobile looks like it is running now.
