I’m so sorry to hear of your sadness. Losing your mom, no matter how old you are, is just devastating. My dad died in his sleep unexpectedly, my mom passed within a month of her cancer diagnosis, but both were equally as hard. Although it gets a little bit easier, the heartache remains. I found that a few new traditions for my family helped a little bit. Bless you, and I will keep you in my prayers for some healing. ❤❤

Seems many have suffered tragedy and loss this year as have I. My son passed away 2 days before his t in September and he lived with me. Helped take care of his father who has stage 7 Alzheimer's so his help was amazing. He had a great job and paid our bills and now I am in a financial mess. Please everyone, love your children and family every day. Bless you all.
Hi Lauren. I live in North Texas and have started learning about gardening since we moved onto our two acre property about 5 years ago. As a chicken owner myself, I just wanted to *highly* encourage you to keep your garden in an area that is not accessible to your chickens. They love freshly turned over soil and will peck out freshly planted seeds and baby sprouting plants. Best keep them out of your garden until you put it to bed for the winter. They will love foraging in there over the winter and will help keep the bug population down. look forward to seeing more from you in the future!

I do that too. Clean as I go and it’s so nice to have a clean kitchen when you’re done. And a lot of things just need a rinse like a food processor or blender. If it sits, it gets all dry and you have to soak it, takes forever.

Hydrangeas are so easy, my husband gets me a new bush every Mother’s Day.. plant white or star gazer Lillie’s every year and then shake the bulbs early spring and they multiply.. buy bulbs once and you can divide and multiply them yearly!

I’m so excited to see your gardening adventures! I’m in the East Bay of CA and have a 1/3 acre with a garden and small orchard as well. It’s so fulfilling and fun to experiment. Have so much fun and enjoy the process!
I am mostly looking forward to your garden in 2025. I love seeing the seasons through what grows, when to plant and the harvest at the end to use your very own produce into meals you love and share. The simple days of washing windows, tidying up your outdoor spaces, and organisation is great to watch. Decorating is top of my ultimate watch list, but you always manage to inspire and share something relevant to me. Morning get ready, make up up occasionally and even winter bath routines. Literally anything. Painting the stairs black was fun to watch such a dramatic transformation. I hate cooking myself but know my family love eating so it might as well taste good.
You’re a brave woman, I found cleaning my Subzero fridge can be very time consuming and overwhelming. Everything has a home with and I have 1 free shelf space area. I always wipe everything off, even condiments and jar lids 🤣 when putting everything in my fridge. By doing this, my fridge only needs an occasional wipe down until the deep clean. When anyone opens my fridge, they comment how clean and organized it is! Watching you is inspirational!!

I loved the floral arrangement( white roses are my favorite) just a suggestion , some fresh cranberries in the bowl would have been gorgeous and adds some color . I often use cranberries and Christmas tree clippings in a tall clear vase and it’s gorgeous. Merry Christmas 🎄

Excited to get the house in order For Sure! 😅 If you try this bread recipe, I’ve Loved it for Years… 1 1/2 c warm water 2 tbsp powdered milk 2 tbsp soft butter 1 tbsp sugar 1 1/2 tsp salt 4 c flour 1 1/4 yeast I add to mixer in order given, knead until nice soft dough. Let rise until double. Knead and shape into loaf and put in loaf pan. Let rise to double in pan. Bake at 350 until golden brown. Turn out and cool. 😊 Enjoy your learning journey this year Lauren!
I love hydrangeas, but in your area of California (I used to live in Napa), it’s best to plant them in the shade. They burn in the hot summers. There are some varieties, like oak leaf hydrangeas, that will do fine in the hot sun. I love gardening!
Advice for fruit trees. We have about twenty. Start with trees that are all in the same family because they all require different regimens of fungicide and pesticide. Also, I live in the East where there are more fungi so you may have an easier time. This is why the west coast produces the vast majority of our organic produce. Also make sure you get a dwarf variety. We have even semi-dwarf and they’re still too big to pick from the top of the tree. You can trellis or espalier dwarf fruit trees very successfully. We are starting our care regimen for our fruit trees now. Have to spray with dormant oil once per month for the three winter months. Also need to start pruning this month. I personally recommend people start with raspberries or blackberries because they grow so easily. You will need to trellis and cover from birds however. I can’t believe you’re thinking of spring. Winter just started here in Berks County PA!
Hi Lauren your upcoming content sounds amazing! I’m new to cooking and gardening even though I’ve done both for years. I’m really wanting to learn new recipes and gardening techniques. Gardening here in North Texas has really been difficult with the sun and heat! In the Spring I’m going to plant herbs only and rig some sort of shade cloth to protect the herbs!
Lauren, you can get chalk markers (they come in white and black). They work great on glass or plastic. You can label to your hearts content and then it just washes off when you don't need the labels anymore. I love mine!
Really enjoyed this video, your fridge looked like New after you'd cleaned it, super job done there Lauren 👍.And while I'm on Super , what about that Rose bowl you did, that was a professional quality look , and I certainly would think about planting a few Rose Bushes outdoors, if you have room for them. Your Baking is coming on great, all the breads your doing are looking really good. Even the ones that your not happy with, still look okay to me. And that thing you've got going with making your own Butter, how easy, and how clever is that. I must try that one. We are a couple who choose not to eat meat, and it would be nice for you to do a veggie soup, because your soups are so lovely, and I do make my own soups anyway, I would love to add one of your recipes. And to finish with the jacket's that you showed, loved the Blue, until you put that Green on, and if I could only choose one, I would have a right dilemma 🤣. I’m so excited to see your gardening adventures! I’m in the East Bay of CA and have a 1/3 acre with a garden and small orchard as well. It’s so fulfilling and fun to experiment. Have so much fun and enjoy the process!

Decorating is top of my ultimate watch list, but you always manage to inspire and share something relevant to me. Morning get ready, make up up occasionally and even winter bath routines. Literally anything.
Painting the stairs black was fun to watch such a dramatic transformation. I hate cooking myself but know my family love eating so it might as well taste good.
You’re a brave woman, I found cleaning my Subzero fridge can be very time consuming and overwhelming. Everything has a home with and I have 1 free shelf space area. I always wipe everything off, even condiments and jar lids 🤣 when putting everything in my fridge. By doing this, my fridge only needs an occasional wipe down until the deep clean. When anyone opens my fridge, they comment how clean and organized it is! Watching you is inspirational!!

We used to do Blue Apron too. Loved it so much, since we were used to very VERY simple boring meals.

I loved the floral arrangement( white roses are my favorite) just a suggestion , some fresh cranberries in the bowl would have been gorgeous and adds some color .
I often use cranberries and Christmas tree clippings in a tall clear vase and it’s gorgeous.

I loved this video, and am very excited to future ones! Once you have some time, you should make some homemade pastas. I have the pasta extras for my kitchen aid, and love experimenting with. So many different types can be made by incorporating fresh herbs. I just think that you would really enjoy discovering the varieties you could add to your meal plans. Love watching you! ❤

If you try this bread recipe, I’ve Loved it for Years…
1 1/2 c warm water
2 tbsp powdered milk
2 tbsp soft butter
1 tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
4 c flour
1 1/4 yeast
I add to mixer in order given, knead until nice soft dough.
Let rise until double.
Knead and shape into loaf and put in loaf pan.
Let rise to double in pan.
Bake at 350 until golden brown.
Turn out and cool. 😊

I love hydrangeas, but in your area of California (I used to live in Napa), it’s best to plant them in the shade. They burn in the hot summers. There are some varieties, like oak leaf hydrangeas, that will do fine in the hot sun. I love gardening!

Advice for fruit trees. We have about twenty. Start with trees that are all in the same family because they all require different regimens of fungicide and pesticide. Also, I live in the East where there are more fungi so you may have an easier time. This is why the west coast produces the vast majority of our organic produce. Also make sure you get a dwarf variety. We have even semi-dwarf and they’re still too big to pick from the top of the tree. You can trellis or espalier dwarf fruit trees very successfully. We are starting our care regimen for our fruit trees now. Have to spray with dormant oil once per month for the three winter months. Also need to start pruning this month. I personally recommend people start with raspberries or blackberries because they grow so easily. You will need to trellis and cover from birds however. I can’t believe you’re thinking of spring. Winter just started here in Berks County PA!

Hi Lauren your upcoming content sounds amazing! I’m new to cooking and gardening even though I’ve done both for years. I’m really wanting to learn new recipes and gardening techniques. Gardening here in North Texas has really been difficult with the sun and heat! In the Spring I’m going to plant herbs only and rig some sort of shade cloth to protect the herbs!

Lauren, you can get chalk markers (they come in white and black). They work great on glass or plastic. You can label to your hearts content and then it just washes off when you don't need the labels anymore. I love mine!

Really enjoyed this video, your fridge looked like New after you'd cleaned it, super job done there Lauren 👍.And while I'm on Super , what about that Rose bowl you did, that was a professional quality look , and I certainly would think about planting a few Rose Bushes outdoors, if you have room for them. Your Baking is coming on great, all the breads your doing are looking really good. Even the ones that your not happy with, still look okay to me. And that thing you've got going with making your own Butter, how easy, and how clever is that. I must try that one. We are a couple who choose not to eat meat, and it would be nice for you to do a veggie soup, because your soups are so lovely, and I do make my own soups anyway, I would love to add one of your recipes. And to finish with the jacket's that you showed, loved the Blue, until you put that Green on, and if I could only choose one, I would have a right dilemma 🤣.
