This is by far the easiest to teach and best offense play against these two defenses. I love this! I applied it to my 13 year old team and it made it so much easier for us to get good looks and it gave the kids more confidence with discipline of course. I took myself and five of my good friends i play ball with and brought them to my practice and ran a high 1-2-2 half court press and played defense on my guys seriously. They were a little nervous at first because of who they were playing. But after running it for about 30 minutes they either scored or got fouled to go to the free throw line 7 times in a row. I told them at the end of practice if y’all can do that against us here in practice it will be easy for y’all to work this offense against kids y’all age. The very next game we played a team who ran a 3-2 zone. We ran this play got up 5. Then i told my point guard to hold the ball right when you pass the half court line and make them play defense. As soon as the defender came up the middle was open then the defense shifted up on the middle and the corners cut and we got a layup. This is again just a smart and awesome basketball play! Hell it even works against a 2-3 at the younger age cause kids be so anxious to play defense and over shift which leaves the wings open for a shot after the pass from middle or after the pass from middle to the wing, the middle drops down and posts middle man for the wing to dump it right back down on a give and go pass. Good work on this! I greatly appreciate this video! Tbh only play i run cause it’s so many options

Hey Clyde thanks for the comment! I agree that this is just a nice and simple way to get good looks against these types of zones. Good for teams that don't have a lot of guys that can dribble penetrate on their own. Thanks again!

I like this! Movement and ball rotation. The key ingredient for GOOD or LESS skilled players to score with.

Thanks Brandon! I agree. I have used this and when ran properly, it is nearly impossible to stop us from getting good looks.

Wrong, the only way to beat zones is to get or develop players.

Val, I agree, more talent=more wins! But, as a public school coach, I know we don't always get to choose our players.

@@grazynamoon5218 You are right, sometimes it seems the only way is to develop the talent that you have. Still, it will take too long and usually not pay off. Basketball is a business, and businesses do not wait for 3-5 years for results. Unfortunately, the coach will pay a price because no one above cares for reasons. I tell you more, even if you win, it is not always a recipe for a good coaching career. Anyway, finding a way to get hands-on solid talent raw talent athletic talent will make it so much easy. And do not bother with the offense, offense takes years to develop, rather go for defense. Individual defense relay on athleticism and the willingness of the players to work hard. Coaching is almost not needed besides basics. Team defense will take a few months or a little more if you manage to put everyone on the same page, and they follow the established rules, for D. Wins will follow. Best of luck and have a good time.
