I love Taylor’s 2020-now style because it’s pretty easily attainable. Obviously red carpets are different, but her soft/simple/classic looks are something I look to for inspiration, regardless of the fact that our body types are COMPLETELY different. It’s nice to see a style I can replicate without being a size 2, even though she herself is on the tall/slender side.
Ooh my god, YESSSS!!! Such a needed one. I could never put my finger on why I don't think Taylor is stylish, and you absolutely nailed the reason: Taylor never looks undone. Everything about her clothes is always hyper-calculated, hair, make up, nails... everything is perfectly fitted and styled in a very classic and safe way, nothing about her choices feels surprising. Adding that element of weirdness/ undoness would totally up her game. I enjoyed this so much!!
cw: eating disorder. i think honestly the reason why her style has been safer is she’s also been trying to recover her eating disorder and has spoken about how certain cuts of clothing and looks can trigger her
Can you do a video on styling winter outfits on a petite frame? And real winter not LA winter ;) It's hard to not get overwhelmed by the layers when you are short
the suggestion that Taylor's fashion could be an "afterthought" left me gobsmacked! Imo few pop stars rise to her level of visual storytelling & I always assumed it's bc she's one of the those rare ppl with an inherent love/understanding of fashion
Taylor Swift has this habit of seeing albums as different chapters of her life. Every other costume she wears during that time or Era, as many like to call it, kind of fits into the overall aesthetic of the album. Taylor Swift (her debut album) Era was when she was stepping into the industry with this "Country Girl" aesthetic. She had Bushy- Blonde hair, Cowboy boy boots, Bangles etc. which was really country. Fearless was an album where she is this "high school girl" and "the prom queen". The album showed exactly how her life was when she was around 18. She wore these sparkly 'Prom' dresses and her (once) bushy hair now had ringlets. Speak Now was a fairy tale era. Songs from that album were written when she was 19. She straightened her hair and (usually) wore a tight bun, which might show her way of moving into adulthood. RED was an Country-Pop cross-over album. She now adopted the "hipster" aesthetic. She was now in the most experimental stage as an artist, now that she is entered her Post- "The new girl" era. She had straight hair from now on and wore dresses that fit her hipster/young adult aesthetic. 1989 was an Era where Taylor really owned the spotlight. She was truly 'Inescapable'. The people either loved her or hated her. The media called her the "Psycho Serial Dater", who had an "insanely skinny body", who loved hanging out with her "Squad of rich-White-Girls" and also mocked her for going from Country to Pop. Taylor chose to respond to these claims with songs like Blank Space and Shake It Off, which were two of the massive hits of the year. She opted this "Polaroid" aesthetic to represent her 80's inspired soundtrack. This was the time she cut her hair, wore crop-tops and her signature high-heels. (I can type more, but you know, I can't stop. Thanks for reading btw.)
the work you put into these, researching everything down to the person, vibe, hair and makeup to form a fashion restyle makes you the absolute best in the game. I love your insights so much.
02:44 Hiii swiftie here! Taylor usually leaves Easter Eggs everywhere and during the lover era even though I hated most of her outfits they were definitely planned to hint different tracks or even just the album aesthetic! I really hope for her ts10 era she tries a bit more and maybe try a different stylist?
LOVE this! These are my favorite videos lately, thank you so much! Just what I needed to wind down at the end of my night lol. I'd love to hear your thoughts on Emma Corrin's style, as they're my favorite lately and I feel like you might love their looks based on some of the references you pulled in this video?
Loved thisss as usual. I agree with the recommendation of Emma Corrin next but I would also love to see a Penelope Cruz sort of re imagination of her 90s looks mixed with contemporary pieces.
This is always so fascinating to me because I am not at all so fashion-oriented, especially not luxury/runway fashion oriented, so I love to hear your thoughts and how you approach style
I mostly love her red carpet/events outfits, but I most say sometimes they are boring. I just wanna see her in something more creative and interesting like other celebrities 😓. She should hire you! 😁
Just wanted to drop a comment to say that I love your passion in this and trying to match her music to her outward image. The pretty-ugly-weird vibe would totally 100000% work for her.
You always have a great manicure! Do you know what polish that is? Also really love the way you decided to style your top as opposed to the manner they show on the product picture. It makes it much more romantic the way you placed the ties 🤍
I think you HAVE to check out her British Vogue Jan 2020, US Vogue May 2016, British Vogue Jan 2018 and T Magazine Dec 2009. I cannot get over the British Vogue 2018 (post reputation), I want to frame the veil ensemble shot 😭 I think you nailed it on the *overall vibe* but as for the SPECIFIC pieces, I can't see her in them except for a few. What I'd do to see her in the last Dior piece and the white Mônot piece ..... Oh and that Ralph Lauren 2003 floral dress.....
Dua Lipa in Vivienne Westwood was probably one of my favorite looks of the year, so I'd love to see Taylor in that too 😭 the purple slit thigh dress with the green neon boots had me salivating, i love any neon western inspired look.
I would love to see one on Miley Cyrus! I think it would be very interesting, I love these videos of yours they’re my favorite though I love all your content
Do you know what I think would be a smart a would be a amazing and memorable red carpet look? At a red carpet where she has a beautiful gown in perhaps a cream white colour, but then with a long silk red scarf ties around her neck and falling long at the back; representing the symbol of the red scarf in All Too Well. Taking inspiration from Zendaya's Spiderman Homecoming premiere & Emma Corrin's purple gown and scarf look in The Crown S4. Would be a amazing look for something different and memorable for her, as well as representing her. And can represent how she is claiming herself back with her latest albums, by 'taking back the red scarf'. Does anyone know of any fashion collections to have a gown with a red silk scarf?
I feel like I could see wearing most of the red carpet section for a photoshoot (which she is usually more "experimental" with her style. I find that in her candid style while she'd dress in nice things but then she would combine other elements or accessories oddly. And then sometimes on her red carpets/events she'd have a horrible dress but amazing accessories (lol) PS. She used to wear Prada high heels often (I'm pretty sure she still does). Maybe style Selena Gomez next? Love the video
Im a hugeeeee fan of her but I really think she needs a new stylist lol She literally looks like a runway model and should really take advantage of that!!!!
I usually love your insights but this one for Taylor just seems a bit off, I don't think it goes with the kind of music she makes or the image she portrays for her fans
It’s mainly the bangs. They look so out of style. I think, that’s what ruins it for me. It always makes her look almost / not quite stylish. You know what I mean?
Would loveee for you to do Blake Lively's resurgence, you nail this series Amy, Kudos!
Honestly u really need to start making this a weekly series! Your insights are always soo interesting
Let me know who you'd like to see my style next :)

I love a big chunky shawl
her brows were very pale at the 2016 met and it rlly suited her! she also did a collab with stella mccartney during her lover album era
the suggestion that Taylor's fashion could be an "afterthought" left me gobsmacked! Imo few pop stars rise to her level of visual storytelling & I always assumed it's bc she's one of the those rare ppl with an inherent love/understanding of fashion
She had some merch for Lover that was in collaboration with Stella McCartney so you got it!
omg no way!! yes it makes sense for that pairing haha

Love your Glamour magazine in the background. That used to be my favorite magazine!

Thank you so much!!
Really interesting! I am not a Taylor fan particularly but I am like you, she just is not on my radar. BUT I like your vision for her!
actually this lighting looks good. feels warm
Loved this per usual, Amy!! I think she’d absolutely kill in that 70s aesthetic you mentioned 😎 Perhaps having Stevie Nicks looks as reference? 😳⁉️🤔

Oooh she’d be so fun!!
Love your styling so much! ❤️
I think Florence Leontine Mary Welch is also someone she could take inspiration from
