Mark, Renault have 'smashed it!'. Almost like the concept and yet so retro and desirable. Yes desirable! Something you could never apply to a Tesla or Kia and so on. So clever and chic. What's not to like? The Megane E is one of the best looking and snesible EVs available. And now the 5! Wow! Just so clever! So French! Will give the Mini Electric a run for it's money. Fantastic! And yes i do [just] remember the original 5 and this is a real homage to it. Thank you.

I'm 45 years old today and when i think of our Renauld 5 i think of the beach, theme parks, the zoo and visiting my grandparents...still so full of energy...and alive...nothing but the best possible memories...
That they bring it back from oblivion today and with those fun colors on top of it...NGL: It's pure marketing genius.

Oh my god you are so Irish. 😄 Renault needs to make a four leaf clover holder just for the Irish market. Or a Four leaf clover thing for the personnalisation of the gear switch. They would sell tons of it in Ireland. 😉 With the mention on it " Because we love you... But this is the only not Five thing that you will find in this car".

Looks pretty damn cool Nobby but the devil's in the detail, with the Chinese coming wanting to dump their production over capacity in to European markets, needs to be mid £20k at most and they have copied my swifts door handle.
That rear seat foot space is concerning though with the packaging advantages available on clean sheet EV designs internal space should be generous.

Yes, 150bhp is plenty. You don´t need excessive BHP to have ´fun´you need poise and balanced handling eg MX5.
It´s good work for Renault, very good and it will do well other than heavy depreciation and the price, again, is too high.

This E R5 otoh will interest car enthusiast younger demographics (including those who are fans of old timers) & mostly city folks (big majority of people nowadays) who will prefer to take the plane or the train for long travels.

Do tell, what is it with you that power output is the single most important feature of what is a small, budget oriented family car?. Have you forgotten, did you even know (?) that Alpine have already announced their version of this car, which if your proclivities are not sated with the 5, should be in due course. Be honest, if you are capable, if it wasn't the power output or the charging rate capability you whinged about, it would be something else. This car is clearly built to a price and right minded buyers will understand that via test drives and showroom visits, even if you do not.
