Breakfast Egg Bread How to Make Recipe. In this video I demonstrate how to make a simple breakfast or quick snack recipe. It’s similar to French toast in the way it’s made but is the savoury version we have in the UK without using cinnamon or golden syrup. It’s very quick to make and tastes delicious. So if you fancy something quick and easy, go make some egg bread!
my recipes / originalnakedchef
This is the most British looking breakfast and I can't lie, I really want it.
I always wanted to know how you make this, you can find literally anything on RUclips.
dont use the milk
@@deplorablegator2050 neither do I
@@gerrypeacemaker9407 me neither. I thought I’d been doing it wrong for years.
Clearly ain't lived on the breadline lol
My grandmother would always rip each slice of bread into a half-dozen or so pieces before soaking in egg (as do I). That seems to make it extra eggy, fluffy, and savory with lots of salt and pepper.
Thanks for dropping in and I appreciate the comms :)

Hi Chef! I've been checking out some of your vintage videos that I missed. I'm going to make your egg bread recipe for breakfast in the morning! I enjoy watching you videos! Thanks Chef!!💕
Onion powder, pepper and chopped green Chives would have been great in this egg milk/mixture. Sprinkle with yellow Cheddar cheese towards the end, flip over and repeat, flip over and serve. A side of Hash brown potatoes, green/reed bell peppers with sausage would have made this dish completely scrumptious. 😍😛😋
Oml im gonna do this💪
THIS IS AWESOME I just made this with my dad and thought t was Great I don't understand all of the hate
Thanks for always dropping in :)
A little oil...ok
Lol
In France we call that English toast
@@waffleplayz_0815 really🤣🤣🤣?
@@waffleplayz_0815 oh my i just realized you commented this 4 years ago
Tyran Bock and you still reply to reply
Hi to everyone in Canada!
It's similar to French toast but a savoury version.
I have made a video for French toast using with milk, sugar & cinnamon.
Thanks for the comms and the thumbs up!
Thanks for dropping in :)

Made for the first time following your recipe it tates great thanks 👍
Why does everyone say it's French toast??? FRENCH TOAST IS SWEET AND EGG BREAD IS FUCKING SALTY!!!
Holy crap! So much hate towards the beans here! I always thought baked beans were a fairly common breakfast food?
Same!
alyssa waldron I dont know were y'all are from but here in america baked beans is typically lunch and dinner
brian Bibbee it not really you can eat beans any time of the day I eat beans for breakfast, lunch, and dinner you can even mush them up so they taste better and I like to eat them a little spicy so that they taste better. So yea they arnt just eaten for lunch and dinner
brian Bibbee YEH, ONLY IN AMERICA
+brian Bibbee I live in America too and I've had baked beans for breakfast at restaurants. It might be a regional thing.
Instead of milk, try adding shredded cheese. It's awesome!!!
Ah the comment I've been looking for. I usually fry my egg and while frying, I add a lot of grated cheese on it so I agree cheese is awesome
I’ll be sure to try it , thanks!
Never use milk with eggs ruins it
@@shayreno1461 * scrambled eggs have left the chat *
@@kiiwiqloss3409 If it had milk in then it can fuck off
simple fast and delicious
This is very lovely Sir! Thanks so much!!! I will definitely try it.
Why is there so much negative criticism in these comments. Instead of criticising why don’t you say how great the video was, and how much you enjoyed it and learned to how to make eggy bread. Good video voice too, great job son, great video I really enjoyed it. now I’m going to make some eggy bread yum yum 😋 been eating eggy bread since a toddler 😉 UK 🇬🇧
It's not french toast, french toast is sweet, egg or eggy bread is savoury. In the uk we don't tend to eat sweet breakfasts like those across the pond.
iamnasty1 I never ate beans for breakfast!
@@terryporche8745 That does seem odd don't it?
@@anonymousronin7572 beans for breakfast in the UK is as common as pancakes in the US
Its not French toast because its lacking syrup, if thats what you mean. Otherwise it's the same exact thing.
iamnasty1 This is french toast. THE END
I like mine with a dash of chili sauce on it. My mom made this for me back in the 70's. Yummy
yummy I must try this for my son. almost like french toast but without the sweets.
Very unique idea....gotta try it...looks goog
Mmmm beans for brekky.... nice & gassy for the day.. luvvit!
😂😂😂
thats a myth i never fart after I've ate beans eating some now with me eggy bread.
Lovely breakfast!
This is one of my favorite things to cook up - and being an Australian I like to spread vegemite over one side before soaking the bread - it makes it extra yummy
Interesting, I'll try this with the vastly superior Marmite.
This is making me hungry, a must cook recipe for next Sunday. Thanks!
Gotta say it's pretty surprising to see baked beans for breakfast, You don't see that in America. Pretty cool to see how things are different in different places c:
yeah its a british thing
"Egg Bread" ? That's a new one. Amazing technique. Who needs Escoffier when you've got the Original Naked Chef?
in England they call it egg bread. same thing. I prefer it savoury like this rather than slathered in syrup etc
This looks good, i think i'll have to try this. Right now.
ummmm isn't this just french Toast
French toast is made with brioche
French toast can be made with any bread^
French toast is brioche bread soaked in cinnamon fried in butter topped with berries or honey
I'm so hungry for French Toast right now!
It's actually called egg bread from where I live, and basically the majority of SE Asia. Others call it french toast I guess. So what? We have different names for stuff, how is that shocking?
Gerard The DOCTOR WHO regenerates
Tell that to someone from Cornwall the next time you make a Cornish pasty.
Called fried bread in bulgaria
in my country we call it αυγο-φετες which basically means egg toast some others call it french toast i guess its origin is france?
@@RaZhOdKaaaa Well fried bread is surely just bread......fried. is it not?
Liked before I watched! Love eggy bread
Forget the oil, cook it in Pork dripping and that’s proper fried egg bread.
Namiss ko tuloy mama ko. Sarap nyang magluto ng ganito😙😍. Thanks for sharing po
I only watched this because I fancied eggy bread 😂
Although I might add my own twist and have eggs inside an eggy bread sandwich
#Livingontheedgemate 💪🏻💪🏻
The Massachusetts way....slather with butter and maple syrup
Yuck
The best video on the internet
*eggy bread
Yes my friend. You're the only person in this comment section that calls it the correct name 😂
+Rory do you have it with sugar sprinkled ontop?
😂😂😂
yeah fantastic brekfast i like it
If this was presented as French toast people would gripe that there's no vanilla, nutmeg or cinnamon so it's just egg bread. You can never win.
straight forward but very nice nom nom nom.
just saw this, in the States this is called French Toast, but you need to add 3 ingredients, one add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the egg mixture,, then after its cooked sprinkle with a little powdered cinnamon, and if you have some maple Syrup to put on top thats perfect,( some people sprinkle a little sugar with the cinnamon and dont use the syrup) give it a try, let me know what you think, im curious> just started subscribing to your channel and I love it
you new friend
Charlie
Vanilla extract. Never tried that. Sounds interesting.
give it a try, let me know what you think!
Kalpesh Patel oh yes, vanilla will give a good smell to the french toast with cinnamon sprinkled on to the bread, you will love it, mix egg and milk just like this video and add 1 tsp vanilla extract and 1 tablespoon of sugar, dip the slice bread and fry it with butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon powder. you can spread maple syrup or molasses or honey to sweeten it.
That would be French Toast, which this isn't
Love the way you cook is simple you have the way to make all cooking easy come out real good Thankss
Say what you will, but this is French Toast. Just need a few drops of vanilla.
....and then a little sprinkling of cinnamon for me.
JB85128 Perfect:-)
British call it eggy bread.
MsSouthernman THIS IS NOT FRENCH TOAST! THIS IS AMERICAN CRAP!
+Graham Smith all butthurt because of a name of a dish
this is like a traditional recipe were I come from :D
God sometimes I feel ashamed to be in america, people are so ignorant. Baked beans is a common breakfast side in England, they don't have to call their food the same thing as we do. That's like saying the rest of the world should. Is it so hard to be a little open minded? Let alone read something that can teach you new things? Jeez.
Need to try this.
add a few tablespoons of sugar to the egg and milk mix, and just a bit of cinnamon or vanilla
we call it torreja
I really wanted this recipe. Thankyou so much.
In Canada it's called French toast
+Buzz Catty There you go giving away North American secrets again!
+Buzz Catty same in america
+Buzz Catty In the Netherlands its know as Wentelteefjes which translates into: Turning Bitches
:D
+Buzz Catty its called the same in Scotland as well its just the english naming things to suit their selfs again as per usual like calling fizzy juice (pop) and training shoes (trainees) thick as shit. then if you use your own local slang they have the cheek to tell you to use queens english even though proper old english is closer to how the scottish speak than the way the english speak today when they call each ova bruv and cuz init lol
+Geekly weekly errrm.. No... French toast has cinnamon snd sugar on it..
Here's a tip from Sweden, somewhat of an easy national dish, similar to what you just did. Stir up a pancake batter in a large bowl. Then dip whole toast-bread, preferably white, and let them soak for a min, lift them up a bit and let the worst batter drain back into the bowl. Then fry on both sides while adding white pepper.. Serve while warm together with lingonberry jam. You'll love it.
A little bit of oil, BIG SPLASH! AND MOORRREEEEE oil.
Looks delicious
Uh, you said "a little bit of oil". sIR, what I saw was a puddle of oil.
I try
I adopt
This is soooooo good
thanks for showing
You guyss!! If you are a lazy person like me and decided to eat egg with something that is quick this recipe is for you its fast and it literally takes like 6 mins to make its so good!
So you basically made french toast.
+Honey Bliss You beat me to it. French toast without the sugar and cinnamon. Still, could be tasty.
joeywyss junior I agree this bread can still be good. It just needs something for more flavor like you said.
+Honey Bliss try to add cinnamon to the eggs & milk, untill u left with a brown paste.. dip the bread into the paste and u are ready to go ;) can also be served with jam or suger
+Honey Bliss Yep, in France, the recipe is called "pain perdu"
+joeywyss junior I actually never knew french toast required sugar and cinnamon. I always thought of it was egg + toast and thats it.
Thanks you and I really appreciate that!
That's french toast xD
***** Or, "pain perdu" as we say in France.
***** NO IT'S NOT FRENCH TOAST!
+koolkat214 Yes! All that's missing is the maple syrup .. and I add a bit of vanilla to the egg mixture ;)
+Graham Smith Yes, it IS french toast in the US anyway! Been making it for years! .. and my Mom and my Grandmothers made it as well :)
+Annie M NO IT'S NOT FRENCH TOAST BUT IN THE US YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND MUCH ABOUT FOOD. YOUR FRENCH FRIES ARE NOT FRENCH FRIES EITHER
Okay! I'm hungry now! Looks good. . .
Soooooooooo French toast?
The English wouldnt put 'French' in front of anything, unless it was something gross or absolutely necessary.
If you're English it's Eggy / Egg Bread.
French Toast is actually Canadian
Joey Besignano go
Thank you ! this is definitely going to save me some money
2:55 YOU USED SO MUCH OIL THE US WANT TO INVADE THE DAM PAN🤣😂🤣😂🤣
There’s probably more oil than egg in the bread in the end.
Eggy bread! It's the best!
That isn't a little bit of oil 😆 2019 anyone?
2020
2020
2020
I did it and it was great! Tks!
a little bit of oil.... loooooool!!
CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THIS GUY ON MASTERCHEF!
A think French toast ruined by too much oil. Wow....now we know what NOT to do.
LOL you're not kidding LOL
This guy needs a new job LOL

this made me hungry......and i gotta food addiction...ANYWAYS. i subbed for more videos of good food lol
In asia we don't use milk for that reciepe.
Whut? I'm asian but I use milk haha 😁
I only use eggs for that.
Ulol mas masarap pag mat gatas
Well then let's use coffee....
Thanks for sharing my dear umuaahh
Beans in the morning
yesss!
isnt that normal people eat :D
That's very British.....beans for breakfast. Me? Personally I like Redman Chew and a quart of coca-cola for breakfast
Better than cold meats and cheese like the french/Spanish, and better/Healthier than the US, sugar packed EVERYTHING.
very crispy food
Ok Americans. This is eggy bread, British food. Stop trying to make everything about u, French toast is sweeter.
RIGHT! This is just mixing your toast with your eggs.
yyuuummyyyy! it makes me super hugry (hungry)
so French toast without the sugar?
Denise Rae YES, SO THEREFORE ITS FUCKING EGGY BREAD
Fantastic!
You use waaaay too much oil bro
I've been making this since I was 8 years old and never knew I could cut it up lol eggy bread !:)
Yes eggy bread!!!! Not egg bread.
damn that's shit load of oil, doesn't look healthy
What's healthy? Plenty of cultures in the world consume many times the olive oil daily that we (Americans) do and are as just as healthy. Or more so. Hell, it wasn't all that long ago that American doctors were warning us against eating eggs, period. Then potatoes. Then butter. I don't know what the "experts" are warning about currently, haven't paid them any attention in years. The best dietary advice I've ever heard was from an 87 year old man (a daily drinker) he said a man should listen to his own body. God knows how many doctors he's buried.
The presenter was British.
Simple is perfection :)
Everything looks good but what's with the beans? I don't want to be fumigating the office when I go to work in the morning. Some people actually like me there.
Can't wait to make this for myself, someday!
he needs to change the channel name to " Struggle Tv"
Eggbread, really love that. We could it french bread in here or french fried bread, grandma used to make it for me when I was young :)
Just a little oil.
America tries to invade your frying pan.
Useful video.
OMG! This sucks, you can't make egg fry bread on medium heat. It will be full with oil and the egg wont be fried enough.
My brother- in law serves up really first class eggy bread ( tasty with a soupçon of golden syrup❤ 😊)
stop saying its french toast maybe where your from its called that but in other places its not
Exactly!!!! So let him call it however they do from where he comes from
I eat French toast for dinner. Sprinkle with powered sugar. YUMMMM
add cinamon and sugar
+Jorn I thought I was the only one who did this!
+Firstname Lastname nah its really common in the Netherlands. we call it Wentelteefjes
+Jorn that would make it french toast..
+Yottabyte Harold you also need vanilla for french toast.
something my family does it put cinnamon in the vanilla and then add it to the egg mix and then soak the bread for about 5 minutes but it's hard as heck to put it in the lab so we usually cut it into little bite sized pieces and then just dump it into a plan that way
Is this a recipe you created or is it from a certain country? It looks very good!
i understand that the british have been at war with the french for hundreds of years, but french toast by any british name is still FRENCH toast. (and by the way, you used way too much cooking oil.)
true
This is not French toast
We've always called it eggy bread
