Metallic testicles required. Love the Otters performance, amazing to me. Flew in an Islander twice, Nandi, Fiji to Kandavu, and return, very windy, short strip, great pilots. Great footage, thanks for posting.

This video is awesome. I love videos of this airport. You did an outstanding job with the different angles and closeups. I saw angles that I've never seen before in other videos of this airport. I truly enjoyed this video. Congratulations man , on a job well done.

7:15 it’s amazing how much nose down needs to be apply and how “easy” it is for it to land after half rwy passed and still be able to stop that quickly! TO is an amazing plane which I had the opportunity to fly to/from Lukla with. Well done!

What amazing is that with so many approaches lining up, pilots still managed to have time turning around and clear the only runway. Awesome skills. Awesome video captures.

My dad was a pilot. He explained how low wing planes have a harder time landing because of "ground effect". The difference is clearly visible in this video with the grey plane. High wing aircraft can land on shorter runways.

Having all of these , tho only 45 min in a PC12, the Twotter is my favorite…learned to fly Otters and 208’s in Alaska and loved them both….flew BN2 out of San Juan to the Islands til the DC-3 from St Thomas called my name. But this approach and runway are what an Otter was designed to handle… just need to try it with a 30knt x-wind and nil braking on glare ice….what fun!!

Very nice! I guess pilots will feel some relief the day this runway is extended, allowing them to reduce their rate of descent. On the other hand, some pilots (and passengers) must like the thrill of landing as is.

We often anchored just below the approach at Barts. Kinda fun watching them just miss the foliage. About twice a year they hit something. About once every five years there’s a crash and the rich folk are stuck for awhile until they clean up the mess.

what's the Vref of a PC-12? it appears to be significantly higher than all the others, so they tend to come in rather hot and high, too. the twin otters, however, really need to be forced down into the ground. they just wanna fly.
