  • I was always confused with the use of the comic book opening to Superman: The Movie and I always wanted to try an edit that removes that portion of the opening credits. Another video I uploaded has the swooshes with the credits.

There is no other musical score in history that I know of that throttles my heart, makes my spirit fly nearly as high... As this is John Williams masterpiece.
Movies today have forgotten this missing golden 🔑key🎶 element period. Being the musical backdrop of which makes up most of the emotional landscape of the movie experience, making it so emotionally memorable and just plain wonderful.
These days audiences are too busy trying to keep up with a whirlwind of CGI animation coming in at a million miles an hour, causing an epileptic to have a grand mal seizure in the row in front of you.
Meanwhile others of us are just trying to figure out how Captain America is suddenly in the same movie as Iron Man, Aquaman and let's not forget every other superhero ever invented
You know matter of fact oh, why don't we just throw them all in a blender and make a super smoothie!
Oh and here's another question I have....Why does the new Superman actor , whoever the hell he is ... what's with his cocky smirk, and the look in his eyes... as if to say "I'm Superman" I'm better than you!
And ...... I notice how the colors of Superman's shoot have gotten a lot darker in shade,....WTF is that!!!?
Compared to the colors worn by Christopher Reeve of which were totally untainted, uninhibited .. bright vibrant, illuminescent reds n blues... along with a look in his eyes, so pure and kind, without the slightest bit of arrogance.
Lois Lane asks " Who are you???"
    His super- simply- put reply......... "+* ~A Friend~" ✨

Ladies and Gentlemen, this, or rather, the lack of this, is why Man of Steel failed as a Superman movie.
This piece is why I slogged through ten seasons of Smallville, and why I consider it's ending to be one of the best in TV history.

I saw this movie as a kid with my family when it came out in 1978. I couldn't begin to guess how many time I have watched it over the years. Yet it was only a couple of years ago while watching it that I realized that during the first credits that the stars are moving away from me but when the, "A Richard Donner Film" credits comes on screen the stars reverse and begin coming towards me. I can't believe it took me this long to notice this little detail.

1:43 why does the pitch sound slightly higher than the soundtrack version?

    • @SECRETARIATguy224
      @SECRETARIATguy224 3 года назад +4

It was a timing/editing issue, basically to time it so that at the end of the sequence, the music cuts out right after the Richard Donner credit leaves the screen. That's a great ear to pick that up. The increased pitch, and the time edit at 2:50 make THIS specific version of this music completely and totally unique. It cannot be found anywhere except in the film itself. It's always been my favorite.

No other superhero movie even comes close to this, (sorry Dark Knight you're great but this is a whole other level). Its just so well made with a brilliant cast, great score by John Williams and it really made me believe that a man could fly.

A Williams masterpiece. This is _the_ music people most associate with Superman, and rightly so.
(I always hated the swooshing sounds in the movie. Completely unnecessary.)
