Check your sitemap. I can't tell you how many website I review and open their sitemap.xml file and see 'thank-you' pages, old versions of pages, and in wordpress, post types that shouldn't be published as pages. Cleaning up your sitemap could take you just a few minutes and then go back to search console re-submit your sitemap so you have a clean ratio of pages submitted to pages indexed.
@@AhrefsCom of course in the case of WordPress, if you're using Yoast checkout sitemap_index.xml for your sitemap. Disable your posts types that aren't unique pages, and use the yoast page tool in advanced options to noindex pages that are gated or old.
That's a pretty loaded question :) I recommend checking out our other video and to think of SEO in separate steps/techniques. It's not the fastest marketing strategy, but it certainly is effective :) -Sam

Might be a good idea for a future video. As for now - analyze competing pages. Check their backlink strength and content. You probably want to follow the angle of the content to rank higher. If top tanking pages offer a guide or review, keep the same idea for your page. Additionally, you might want to boost this particular page with some inlinks to improve it backlink strength a bit. Lastly, structure the content to win the featured snippet, if there are any available, as you may still rank #4-9 but own a featured snippet. - Max
Using an auto poster of your content to social medias is great too. Once set up, i add multiple variants to the post published on social itself, and here i go. I just did x10 of my facebook traffic this way. All that with a 10 minutes set up... :)
Can be useful, if you have enough readers and followers in social media... Otherwise it could help for indexing (especially twitter) but not for search rankings :)

The higher DR a linking site has - the more value it pass over to you, unless it links to thousands of other sites, where all of the "link juice" is divided between all of linked domains. Hey! With just the domain name you can only guess. There are patterns used for e-mails like john.doe@domain.com, so you can guess other e-mail by looking up people from the same company on LinkedIn, in example. - Max

Nice tips. When you deindex a low quality page, does it have the same effect as deleting the page?
Not sure. Usually, I'll just soft 404 or 301 the page. There have been a few cases where I 410'd them. Didn't see a noticeable difference.

Does that apply to content that I specifically want to add to a section limited to clients where they can only access through a password? These will be bulletins specific to them but which we also want to add to the general web site in a more general approach. Thanks again for your help.
