WOW. WOW WOW WOW. This run was UNREAL. Instead of rattling on about how much hard work and dedication this took, I'm gonna just list some memorable moments of WTF RNG in this run
-3 slot Armor drops right away in Caves 1
-Nar Lily drops Angel/Mind in Caves 1
-The next room has two Priest/Mind
-Pouilly Slime drops Zonde 2 in Caves 2
-Barta 3 drops in Caves 3
-25% Hit Brand drops in Mines 1
-Scape/Doll AND Digger/HP drop
-Best Ruins 3
WOW. WOWWWWW. I wanted to sub 2, not get the fastest hunter time!! WTF!!!
What's next for me is taking a long break from speedrunning PSO. I intend to play FOnewearl casually and see what Episode 2 is all about, since I haven't done that before. In the meantime, I'm routing all difficulties glitchless with HUnewearl so I can do an attempt or two of that, maybe more if it's actually a good category... but it's probably going to be too taxing of a run to do it often.
I don't want to list names in case I leave someone out, but a humongous shoutout to the PSO community showing up in chat and putting out good vibes. You all made this 7 month period so fun, and I thank you for that :)
To the other speedrunners of this category... Are you feeling any love for HUnewearl yet? :3

I watched one PSO speedrun strat video and now my feed is full of PSO speedruns and I couldn't be happier.
Most impressive you rock. I know this is an old comment but I have to pay you great honor and respect for that run.

Beyond happy knowing the community exists in any capacity still. I fell back in love with this game after realizing BlueBurst servers are still up. Wonderful work on the Speedrun!

I didnt play this, but my brother did. The music is instantly recognizable.
When i first saw this video, i didn't appreciate how much ass it kicked because i was so used to seeing glitched runs blitzing through the game. This run made me wanna pick up huney.

Just after watching a tier-list video with HUnewearl as s**t tier, I found this video. Anyway, congratulations!!
hey, that was verallix's video! i watched that video too before i started speedrunning this game. his disdain for HUnewearl was a major motivator for me to show her the love she deserves :) she's been my favorite since i first played this game way back in the early 2000's
He did point out that the tier list was largely a consistency thing. Some of the other classes can overperform, but they need a lot of RNG to go their way (as was showcased here!).

That was the video indeed. Funny thing: i was not even searching for speedrun content, I was just researching on how to start a private server for online play and ended up with that video on recommendations. I felt sad at the end because HUnewearl was also my favorite class (and highest leveled character back then on the GC times), lacking a HUnewm, she was my choice for a "sword wielding half-elf mage kind-off character" of the setting.

Wow wtf I just started up psp2 infinity English patch and named my cast ranger Kai. I didn't remember a kai from back in the GC days. If you are offended that I've done this, I'm willing to contend. My best accomplishment in PSO GC was hunting for 6 months a legit Yasha from Indi belras in 2005 or 2006, was around 6500 kills, so was very lucky. HunterColt is my witness. If you make a case with superior accomplishments I'll change name to Kai2

Уровень игры поражает. Тайминги близкие к невозможным. Я отыграл более 100+ часов. Но мой навык не то что значительно хуже - он вообще бездарен по сравнению с этим. Менюинг на мега высоком уровне. Знание механик поражает. Получил удовольствие от просмотра - спасибо
мне приятно читать ваши добрые слова. этот пробег занял у меня 7 месяцев постоянного обучения и практики! я надеялся, что мой игровой процесс сможет научить людей, и думаю, мне это удалось :)

this speedrun seems like such a vibe. is it a difficult speedrun to do?
it's difficult to go fast, but actually completing a run is only hard during de rol le and dark falz for the most part. most characters can easily die to de rol le, and HUnewearl for example has just enough TP to kill it with foie 2, granted the mag has 6 MND. that's another hard aspect i suppose is feeding your mag appropriately and on time. if you just wanna do a run, you could probably accomplish that in 7 hours or less (my first run w/o any practice was 7 hours) and it's definitely a vibe :P
actually getting a "competitive" time requires learning the map variations and optimal ways to deal with the enemies in them. you can time your level ups, manage your meseta, and play safe or play to get lucky. it's a very fun run imo! it can be a grind to get the luck you're looking for though.
they should bring this game back, online

Sorry I’m a noob, but what is the advantage of opening and closing the chat box that pops up? Cancel frames? Hitbox?
opening the menu makes it so i can't target anything, and that lets me run near traps/monsters without entering the slow walk animation. you can also cancel damage on a melee/gun attack by opening a menu before the hitbox comes out. targeting is strange in this game!

Is casting spells through menu faster than palette or is it just muscle memory?
It's not faster, but if you buffer your next spell then it's guaranteed to come out on frame 1. You can do the same thing with perfect timing, but the menu is way easier. Oddly, if you cast the first spell with the menu, it's 3 frames slower than casting the first spell from the palette. That's why I re-bind my palette in ruins, it saves a little time!

jogando no Wii. para fazer no PC, baixe "dolphin emulator" e baixe pso no covil do vimm ( vimm.net/vault/GameCube/P ). tudo deve funcionar de forma simples
