That's a nice Gunslinger Spawn commission, Carl. I actually like the prelims even more though. They've got great energy! You did a nice job talking about and showing the José Luis art book as well, good going. Finally, let me just say..... Cyborg Superman!

Had to have him draw at least something of my favorite Superman villain! I also agree about the wonderful energy of the prelims. I actually asked to have them included in the package and he sent them along so I still get to enjoy them! I also like the stillness of the finished piece, very much reminds me of Eastwood’s Man With No Name, such power in his stillness.

Nice to bring eyes on Jose Luis’ art! Without Ruben, I thought it was Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez at first!

Given the similar names, it definitely makes it a bit challenging to search for just José Luis’ art! He’s one that I can’t praise enough. Just about every commission I see him do wow’s me no matter the character!

I'm not a big sketch book guy, but there's something so cool about being able to look through it and see some of your pieces in there, especially with the prelims and mock ups. Amazing level of detail in those big, bulky dudes!

Thanks brother B! Yeah, I think I may have just two other sketchbooks (both with a sketch inside). They aren’t really something I collect as I’m usually content just appreciating online images. This one had to happen due to the inclusion of my commission(s). Definitely fun to flip through, but ultimately I try to reserve that precious bookshelf space for graphic novels.

I completely agree, so many cool books that I COULD add of the shelf but I really try to be selective. This one felt like it needed to happen given my commissions that were included. Bonus is all of that other art to appreciate and enjoy! Love his pencil work!

I bought a Jose Luis original pencil cover of Disney's California Adventure Summer of Heroes promotional comic a few years ago.
