    All these people saying they look too militarized or are wanna be spec ops must not know that these guys are sent to Afghanistan and Iraq. There training mirrors Army special forces and these guys are one of the most elite law enforcement tactical teams in this country.

    • @reeseprice82
      @reeseprice82 8 лет назад +11

      Their training does not mirror Army Special Forces! Stop spreading that garbage! These "law enforcement" goofs have the minimum of training. I have worked with some of them in Afghanistan, and I would not want them anywhere near me in a firefight!

    • @camerons3097
      @camerons3097 8 лет назад +39

      I have not worked with them but i have met many of them in Afghanistan too. Many friends i served with got out and joined BP and a couple actually got onto Bortac and I know one in BORSTAR. Their training is absolutely based and mainly mirrors army SF training. Most fed leo tact teams receive training by military. FBI HRT agents are literally sent to part of BUD/s and various specialty schools and are known to train with Delta. These federal law enforcement teams receive a ridiculous amount of training and a full time team exceeds what your average Army infantryman will ever have.

    • @reeseprice82
      @reeseprice82 8 лет назад +4

      +Cameron Strong again these BP agents do not get anywhere near the training of Army SF...now if you are talking about FBI HRT out of Quantico thats a different animal, and they are in a different league then BP. yes they(BP) may get a "little" different training then the average Army infantry men. during a fire fight I rather have that infantry man by my side then any Border Patrol clown.

    • @reeseprice82
      @reeseprice82 8 лет назад +3

      i find it funny that you call BORTAC guys clowns when more than half of them are former military lol. I agree their selection process doesn't mirror SF, but thier CQB tactics and SOPs does mirror DOD SOF units.
      What selection have you been to don't ask somebody else that question if you haven't either.

    I appreciate the fact these guys have the equipment and vehicle for this type of work! The cartels and other international criminal elements they may face are well armed and have shown to use deadly force in order to conduct their business. So I'm 100% for the military style characteristics! Only thing is all of that show for one suspect? Lol.

    I can understand the pain of border guarding forces
    ...less pay and facilities than the armed forces plus step motherly treatment by the federal govt.... Same happens to the border guards of india i.e. BSF, SSB and ITBP.....those who says border guards are nothing compared to infantry man of army....they must understand that unlike army they are much ahead in the borders and also deployed 24×7 .... Even a border guarding paramilitary unit during 1965 war against pakistan defeated a regular infantry brigade of the aggressor....

      Casey Reed This was a demonstration. Did you not watch and see the large crowd at the end? If this was a real scenario, the ground may be uneven or there may be bushes/other obstacles that may obstruct their landing capability. And the ground team was pursuing until the air unit could cut them off. It’s called an aerial and vehicle based interdiction.

    • @bucknutfever
      @bucknutfever 4 года назад

      It’s called landing on the x and you don’t do that unless you have a strict time on target, also factoring in ground exposure to enemy fire for the bird

      #1- Pilots have an armor plate preventing their upper body from being hit by gunfire from the sides, and a round won't pass thru the hull and not the front window either. 2- Its training. They're practicing roping because there's an abundance of situations where landing isn't an option (roofs, terrain gradient, ground obstructions, etc). Figured this stuff would've been pretty obvious

    • @JC-hv7gn
      @JC-hv7gn 7 лет назад

      In a real life scenario the ground may be sloped, full of shrubbery, they could possibly be simulating an urban or forested environment where there might not be enough room for the helicopter to get any lower. Also in this instance the ground is solid asphalt, no point in risking an injury while disembarking to try and save a second or two

    • @lilimombarrett4334
      @lilimombarrett4334 4 года назад

      Easier yes .... but this was about TRAINING! Many times the terrain is not hospitable for landing. Choppers are vunerable coming down & going up. At hover they can move quickly.

      There've been units like them in every police department since the early 60s...these aren't the regular guys, by a long shot. These are the worst case scenario guys. And even then, they aren't really militarized. They aren't using artillery, air strikes, tanks, or heavy machine guns or light machine guns. They don't even use frag grenades.
      Every time somebody makes a "militarization" argument, they are usually commenting on the cosmetic side of it, simply because they are using better armor than the regular guys. Can you blame them for thinking about individual safety for a change?
      So they use blackhawks, oh well, they're a damn good aircraft for getting from point A to point B. They don't have mounted weapons on them. So they have armored vehicles, so what, they didn't replace the patrol vehicles. They're used for emergency situations, like when the special teams are called in or when there's rioters are destroying cruisers. They've always had an armored vehicle, but this time they got a better one from the surplus of vehicles coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan.
