quite a few of my sunflower seeds have like no seed inside the shell, and a bunch others have all this powdery/cobwebby looking fuz(does NOT look like mold) inside the shell. Did I harvest too late or early or not water enough? The plants got quite large though not as tall as yours. Also if Im not ready to soak them in the brine and bake them should i store them prior in an air tight bag or container or leave them in an open bowl or something.

If you want to plant the seeds the following year to grow more sunflowers, can you just put them in a zip lock and take them out and plant them the following summer?

My Grams always put seeds in a paper envelope. This way it won't retain moisture.

Thanks for the vid; had our first mammoth (just 1) sunflower this summer, a seedling my brother gave us. It was so much fun watching it grow to 11'4". Now I know what to do with that big sunflower head so I can have more sunflowers next year and give some away too. Thanks again.
