Shalla-Bal was a one-off, alternate universe, and only in one comic issue in 1999, Silver Surfer. They couldn't introduce Norrin Radd first and establish him, like in the comics? Yes, she was a love interest of Norrin Radd back in the day, but not the Silver Surfer. Don't get me wrong, I love female characters that already exist. Why can't some of those be introduced instead of gender swapping? Marvel has a ton of female characters, why not have some solo projects for Storm, Jean Grey, ShadowCat, Rogue, Wasp, Domino, etc?
I agree. I don't have any issues with having female heros but it's getting to be way too much.
Yes there are plenty of female characters that they just aren’t using. Why not Spider-girl as daughter of Toby Macguire?

@@starquacktrue, I feel like they need to move on with the older fan favorites and start introducing newer ish characters that are tied into the main MCU characters as a whole. I love what they are doing with Daredevil and Spider-Man but they need the young avengers to do a lot with that and make it so most if not all of them straight from X-men and Avengers.
I get that and I agree for the most part. My point is that even doing this they have better directions to go. Spider-girl was very popular and had a long comics career. and it's the perfect way to keep Toby doing films.

I like these plot points. I just hope Galactis is not a space cloud.
You know, as much praise as Chris Evans has gotten for Captain America(rightfully so), I think it's going to be hard to match his performance as Human Torch.
Those first 2 movies, while not great overall, were actually cast pretty well. I didn't particularly like Jessica Alba as Sue, but Chris Evans, Ioan Gruffud, and Michael Chiklis were all great choices for their roles. Hell, I even liked Julian McMahon as Doom, he was just written poorly.
@@brandonhollenbeck9641 Mr Fantastic was cast POORLY in that Movie. SHould hgave been Benedict Cumberbatch (Yes....Dr Strange). And Jessica Alba was a terrible choice...especially when they gave her fake blue contacts in part 2...that was bad to worse.
@@eijentwun5509 agree to disagree on Reed I guess. I thought Ioan Gruffud was a solid choice. Maybe not the absolute best, but still decent. Alba was definitely the worst casting by far.

Marvel/Disney is so focused on making movies that fit a narrative, rather than making movies that are grounded with good character arc/development. Still frustrates me the way they completely disrespected Thor!

Its unfortunate that many people jumped on the news or falsely reported a female silver surfer casting and complaining or fostering a negative response to it. I always appreciate your being careful about these things when it comes to passing on info or reports.

I gotta be honest, I was super hyped for this film but with all the recent confirmations, I’ve been less and less excited for the film. But I am still anticipating the mcu changing my mind and making me fall in love with one of my favorite teams again.

I'm getting excited for F4 already. I'm going to have to check out some comics to get me caught up
I love that Marvel is so confidant in the current treatment that they are already giving us the reference points. I imagine the Life Story aspect will be used in fun montages to cement the feeling of the 60's era while showing how this universe's FF team earns their public acclaim. I also think it would make a great story if they are use Shalla-Bal and Norrin Radd's relationship and the choices they make to survive/protect their kind from Galactus as a parallel to Reed and Sue's choices when faced with the same predicament. We could see something beautiful and tragic. Maybe give us a deeper version of the Surfer than we'd likely get. Feige's got this

Ari Millen would make an outstanding Galactus! He played the roles of the male clones in the Canadian science fiction TV series Orphan Black. So many different characters, with such ease.

I'm cool with the direction they are going because they are still leaving alot open if the fantastic 4 film is based in a different universe and they end up in the main universe and at some point we have the Noran Rad version of the silver surfer in the main mcu

I think thats one of the reasons the other attempts at fantastic four havent done well is because they doen played the characters power i like the cheesy original film with chris evans that was my favourite of the versions so far didnt have hopes for the latest before this one and it didnt really do well for me. But i have big hopes for this version really hoping it does well
