I wish they would extend the baritone range with a more diverse choice in terms of finishes. I am just fed up with the black ones ! I mean somewhere between the flamboyant traditional crackle finishes and more modern ones 😊
Awesome review as always, Xander 😎🤘🏻🎸 Jackson makes phenomenal guitars and basses. I own a js22 7-string guitar and I bought a concert bass as an early birthday present last year and it is totally awesome. I might go for another one or a spectra bass. Anywho, the new jackson guitars look nice. I do like the kelly guitars. I have been thinking about getting one. The surfcaster looks interesting. I also like the dinky models and the x series guitars.
I hope you let that shit sink in hard. Look at some of those names you are sharing a stage with. Imagine what your dad would say and how proud he would be. I’m stoked for you.
The bullseye reminds me more of Eddie Ojeda's guitar from Twisted Sister back in the early to mid 80's he had a bullseye long before Zakk, of course when TS started using the colors pink and black his bullseye was pink and black but a superstrat.
I’m a huge fan of Jackson guitars bro. I’m actually in the middle of a repainting and modding an old 90’s Jackson/Charvel super strat. It’s got one slanted pickup and a traditional trem system. I should be done by the time you go out on tour mate. I’ll share some pics with you when I get done finishing it up, if you would like me to.? My favorite out of the new 2025 lineup was the offset with one pickup and sandblasted body, but like you X… I’m very partial to the Jackson “King V”. I used to own an all blacked out King V just a few years ago, but like a dumb arse I traded it. I miss that guitar a lot mate, but at least I still have my Washburn “Dime V” in green camouflage finish. I’ll never get rid of that guitar because I’ve invested time and money into it. Plus, she plays like a champ too. It’s nice to look at these new guitars from Jackson and I think that most of them are really nice, but they’re too expensive for me to buy brand new. Hence why I always look for deals on 2nd hand/used guitars because that’s all I can afford at this time in life. Prices of everything is skyrocketed and it’s only gonna get worse. Thanks as always X for your hospitality and until next time…. Stay safe, Stay metal, and don’t forget to Riff.?! 🤘🏻👊🏻🔥🎸💯💥⭐️🤙🏻😎👍🏻
Yeah that's exactly what i thought when I first saw it, but youngsters I guess would just think of Zakk. I'm like uh.. Eddie was rocking a bullseye superstrat long before Zakk came along.
Jackson fanboy here, not sure if anyone pointed it out and I’m not even all the way through the video yet. Couple clarifications: •Virtuoso is more inline with a Dinky because it’s a bolt-on. Soloists are neck through. •New pro plus “pure metal” are Indonesian, not China like the last batch.
Bro I’m watching your video and just heard you changing up your guitar taste this year I can’t wait I love pointy weapon guitars especially the Jackson king v
the jazzmaster shape is one of my favorites so I have one but I always wanted to give it a 24.75 neck with a 3x3 head (done) so seeing that Jackson is releasing one is great because she should always have been like this
Not a lot of Jackson offerings at the moment for the new year, but that will change. Sources Ive read point that there was indeed a Jackson booth at NAMM but was private.
My dude. That is the surfcaster headstock dating back to the original Charvel lipstick pickup semi hollows and the then later Jackson models Scott Isn used in the late 90’s
Ahah !! .... I just saw these new Pro Plus All Black Jackson's with just 1 pickup a few minutes ago !! They are perfect !! The Black Soloist and the Black Kelly with the white binding are my fav !!! (... and I agree with you Kelly's are cool ! I have a 96' Made in Japan Kelly in Blue Sparkle Metallic with the Reverse Headstock and Reverse Sharkfin Inlays + Floyd in Brushed/Satin hardware. Everytime I look at it and play it, I'm so happy !!)
I did see Dave Davidson from revocation post a new wr7 pro series he had red with 26.5” scale and reverse headstock and yellow with maple fretboard and regular headstock. Definitely need to pick one of those up
Totally agree with the surfcaster headstock, i would prefer a fender shape with jackson “toothpaste” logo. But with that being said i am totally going pick up a JS surfcaster as soon as i can order one
When you're into Modding guitars, you sort of build a baseline set of mods that you compulsively have to put on every guitar you purchase. And when that's in consideration, alot of these $850-$1200 guitars just aren't going to be worth the money. The X-Series $550 bracket is probably just about perfect, so like the Surfcaster or the Manalishi Green Soloist would be in that bracket. For the ~$900 price point of the others, you could put your Pickups of Choice, Locking Tuners of Your Choice, New Hardtail, Gotoh Trem (Soloist), Graphite Nut, or Gotoh Locking (Soloist). You could also put Titanium matching colored hardwares into the GE1996T. So for the ~$900 you'd spend on one of the Artist Series/Limited X's, you are getting American Series level specs.
They didnt have the new Dave Davidson Warrior 7s in Ferrari Red and Yellow on their site?... they had those at NAMM and they looked amazing. my next buy for sure.
The King V and the red Soloist must be Mick Thomson leftover or signatures that would have been. If you research the pickups they have, they are the "old" signature mick thomson blackouts! so they are at the very least recycling parts!!!
Only thing I dont like about Fishmans is that they lack a huge punch. Was rockin bareknuckel aftermaths 7 before and for hard stakkato playing they have been much better imo. Still love fishmans. Do what they are designed to do. just would have loved a little more depth punch :)
That Jackson with the black/red/green graphic is a bit close to the Queensryche ESPs/LTDs. I don't know if they are hinting at something in the pipeline or if it was just a happy accident.
I feel the opposite about passives. They're too thin and less full and not compressed. Blackouts give me that full thickness, compression and response that I couldn't get from passives. I would need to crank up the gain but that's just ruins the sound.
I do not like the way the compound radius feels to play. I wish Jackson/Charvel would stop putting it on every model! 16” radius is perfect all the way through
bolt on models are 2500? looks more like 500 bucks guitars... too bad! I have many Jackson guirtars bought years ago, thankfully, are all neckthru... I dont accept any other way.
Jackson guitars went straight downhill dude. Their necks feel like ruff bare wood . Horrible. So many other guitar brands that are way better than Jackson. They made good stuff in the 80s then they fell off.
Jackson lost me when they started handing out signature guitars to fill DEI quotas. Lost all respect for the brand. There were a lot more deserving artists of a signature model.

Unpopular opinion: Jackson should do more of their crackle finishes
I'm on board. Let's go.
Agreed
Random Aussie bloke agrees.
And apply it to basses too!
A Kelly bass in red-to-orange or blue-to-white crackle would be sick as hell
Nice to see someone so proud and hyped about their own music without coming off as a prick, extremely rare skill in the artist space
Dude I'm so freaking hyped to see you with elijah again. I caught you last year on the from ashes to new tour and I'm hyped to see yall again
Elijah is the best
@xanderraymondcharles the funny thing is I didn't know it was you until you made videos on it. That's when I finally connected the dots, lol
The Jackson Lee Malia surfcaster was also spotted 🔥
I think you would rock a Kelly. They're surprisingly comfortable to play and they look metal as hell
I wish they would extend the baritone range with a more diverse choice in terms of finishes. I am just fed up with the black ones ! I mean somewhere between the flamboyant traditional crackle finishes and more modern ones 😊
Bro just buy a bass
I love that shirt man!!! Such a great franchise
Awesome review as always, Xander 😎🤘🏻🎸 Jackson makes phenomenal guitars and basses. This is the one I was really looking forward too.
I hope you let that shit sink in hard. Look at some of those names you are sharing a stage with. Imagine what your dad would say and how proud he would be. I’m stoked for you.

Cool. The bulls-eye one looks like a modified variant of Eddie Ojeda's Charvel guitar he played in Twisted Sister.
Yeah that's exactly what i thought when I first saw it, but youngsters I guess would just think of Zakk. I'm like uh.. Eddie was rocking a bullseye superstrat long before Zakk came along.

Me when I saw the jazzmaster shape Jackson 😁
Me when I noticed the headstock shape
🥲
The red soloist and king v with the SD blackouts are 🔥! Also, just FYI - the virtuoso is a bolt on neck so more of a dinky than soloist.
Bro I’m watching your video and just heard you changing up your guitar taste this year I can’t wait I love pointy weapon guitars especially the Jackson king v
The Jackson/Charvel gumby headstock was always a classic for the Surfcaster. Just not used to seeing it is all.
That shirt though 🤘🏻
That red V with the blackouts is pretty sick.
I would love to see Phil Collen archtop Jackson back in production. 😊
That red King V is just fucking awesome. I wish I had the money for that thing
Love Jacksons. Have 4.
the jazzmaster shape is one of my favorites so I have one but I always wanted to give it a 24.75 neck with a 3x3 head (done) so seeing that Jackson is releasing one is great because she should always have been like this
Not a lot of Jackson offerings at the moment for the new year, but that will change. Sources Ive read point that there was indeed a Jackson booth at NAMM but was private.
Fingers crossed they make some decent king V models this year
Please inform me on your sound proofing. Looks great 👍🏼
My dude. That is the surfcaster headstock dating back to the original Charvel lipstick pickup semi hollows and the then later Jackson models Scott Isn used in the late 90’s
I'm pretty sure Rob Caggiano also has a sig surfcaster called the shadowcaster
I've had it for a few years. Love the guitar and am so getting the Surfcaster.
Ahah !!
Oh my god the brought the surfcaster Back! I had a 2012 Charvel one and sold it, I still hate myself for doing it.
I did see Dave Davidson from revocation post a new wr7 pro series he had red with 26.5” scale and reverse headstock and yellow with maple fretboard and regular headstock. Definitely need to pick one of those up
So you definitely like the superstrat type guitars for tour. Superstrats can be used on tour.
Totally agree with the surfcaster headstock, i would prefer a fender shape with jackson “toothpaste” logo. But with that being said i am totally going pick up a JS surfcaster as soon as i can order one
FYI, on sweetwaters site, they call it the “outcaster”, i kinda like that name better
Love that Kelly and Rhoads. :)
When you're into Modding guitars, you sort of build a baseline set of mods that you compulsively have to put on every guitar you purchase. And when that's in consideration, alot of these $850-$1200 guitars just aren't going to be worth the money.

Wish Jackson did a lightning finish x series soloist. Maybe next year.
That red king v is awesome however not a hug fan of the strap button placement
Hi Xander!
Heyo!
That headstock looks exactly like Gumby. I had totally forgotten that shredder
I wish the surfcaster 7 had a neck pickup
Funny quote that inadvertently sums up the guitar industry these days "The snake game" 😂
Fans out in the audience on tour would like headstock. Mark Morton uses same headstock on tour with LOG
that surfcaster is the best with that headstock.. otherwise it wud look like any other fender :D.. hopefully we can see some pro versions of it..
One of my holy grails is an original chancel with a humbucker
They didnt have the new Dave Davidson Warrior 7s in Ferrari Red and Yellow on their site?... they had those at NAMM and they looked amazing. my next buy for sure.
The King V and the red Soloist must be Mick Thomson leftover or signatures that would have been. If you research the pickups they have, they are the "old" signature mick thomson blackouts! so they are at the very least recycling parts!!!
I need the Surfcaster. I have the Shadowcaster and have always wished it came in black.
Your going from dad rock shapes to dad metal shapes 😈
i’m a bit disappointed by the surfcaster having that headstock, other than that its sick
Still can't even get the baritone range they released last year here in NZ :( No chance these will arrive any time soon... prob have to import!
Ngl I was hoping for a baritone surfcaster. Maybe if Lee Malia gets a sig it’ll come to be
The bullseye...oh yea!!!!
I’m loving the acoustic wall panels. Can you drop a link for them?
The Surfcaster 7 string looks good, except the headstock...
Why didn't they choose a typical Jackson headstock???
But I have to try this guitar...
The rhoads is going to be a hot seller for Bodom fans
Surfcaster? Sounds like a fishing pole. Not a fan of that shape, but I do love Jackson.
Only thing I dont like about Fishmans is that they lack a huge punch. Was rockin bareknuckel aftermaths 7 before and for hard stakkato playing they have been much better imo. Still love fishmans. Do what they are designed to do. just would have loved a little more depth punch :)
As a Dean artist they should hook you up with an Orange Vengeance. I have always been a fan of the King V shape over the Gibson flying V shape.
Surfcaster Headstock Looks Like YAMAHA Revstar Reverse Headstock ;)
Thank you for wearing a shirt
How come no one is at the Jackson booth at Namm???
Apparently the whole fender booth is for distributors only no public no artists allowed
I was waiting a cheap Kelly with 7 strings
30sec into the video! x series is a LAME version of the LAME jazzmaster did I mention LAME???
Are you going to get one of these guitars for tour. You could probably use one of the them for tour
That Jackson with the black/red/green graphic is a bit close to the Queensryche ESPs/LTDs. I don't know if they are hinting at something in the pipeline or if it was just a happy accident.
Lets see if people will treat this video nicer than the Dean one.
Bro the Mike Stringer surfcasters were not THAT LONG ago the change to aristides fully was like 4 months ago
EMG's sound great in a Kelly.
Jackson needs to chill with floating bridges
That Surfcaster looks great... up until you get to the headstock which is excruciatingly ugly and ruins the entire thing completely.
Are the links to your music or band available? I feel that with our mutual love for nu metal/groove metal, I’m going to dig your band. Or solo act.
The pinned comment. Or just loook up any of my albums on my channel
Kellys are just superior!
that surfcaster is goddamn ugly lol zero thought goes into it
Would be cool with the original pointy Jackson headstock
Shit yeah
still no V with fixed bridge for lefty......
And still no new pro series, pro plus series or mij king Vs. I really don't know what Jackson is thinking
Buddy there’s pro plus series guitars in this video
@ I meant king Vs buddy their best shape by far
Mike isn’t with Jackson anymore??? :( well there goes all hope I had for a signature surfcaster :(
Where can I find the song?
Literally everywhere
@xanderraymondcharles I couldn't find it on RUclips, and that's the only form of social media I have. But maybe I overlooked it.
@ just type in my name and full album.
@xanderraymondcharles gotcha. I'll try that. I did type in you're name and the name of the song, but I'll try typing full album. Thanks
I don’t really like EMGs or Fishman. Definitely a passive pick up guy. They feel more alive.
I feel the opposite about passives. They're too thin and less full and not compressed. Blackouts give me that full thickness, compression and response that I couldn't get from passives. I would need to crank up the gain but that's just ruins the sound.
@ I think they sound compressed and dull. I have them in a lot of guitars but want to swap them.
Day 10million of waiting for a jackson king v without a trem that isn't a scott ian signature
Nvm I finished watching the video. Still looks mid tho
They already make those. There’s a white one from like 2 years ago with EMG’s and a few from like 2017
@@xanderraymondcharles but with 24 frets or just the hetfield style ones?
I love jackson but this years offerings are mad weak. I’m buying a few esps this year. I hope Jackson puts out Dave davidsons new warriors.
Welcome to the dark side of metal guitars… pointy all the way lol
I do not like the way the compound radius feels to play. I wish Jackson/Charvel would stop putting it on every model! 16” radius is perfect all the way through
@6:00 that logo is way too big and throws off the proportions to my eye
My man I do original music too appreciate feedback on my original guitar compositions and artwork
Jackson continues to exclude lefty players :(
bolt on models are 2500? looks more like 500 bucks guitars... too bad! I have many Jackson guirtars bought years ago, thankfully, are all neckthru... I dont accept any other way.
First!
Thumbnail guitar looks awful like the XJ ltd
Gumby ass headstock 💀
haha nice 69 likes
Hope the Eagles lose...BIG.
There were a lot more deserving artists of a signature model.
lol
Lol what
The Surfcaster wins it for me. The 7 stringer especially. Yes I agree the of the wonky headstock but I think I can surpass the design.
