I did indeed enjoy the tour! Who wouldn't? Good example of what I'm always talking about: We collect outside the hobby of comics with other, related stuff like posters and cards! Love the posters. I collect vintage posters and vintage non-sports cards!!
Dude...Amazing lair! Love the art and the shelves. Just beautiful! Hobby Lobby is my JAM! Their comic book/nerd section is relatively small but always packed and always changing. And they put that stuff 50% off quite often. Just snagged some great lenticular pieces for a steal. But...I've run out of room--my nerd cave walls are slammed and I've spilled over into the hallway and am quickly approaching the laundry room. My next conquest is my son's room when he leaves the nest in 4 years or so. Going to be a dedicated comic book room. Suggestions? Take it to the other dimension I call, "The Ceiling." One of my other hobbies is scale modeling and I have Michael Keaton's Bat-wing hanging along with a Millennium Falcon, Klingon Bird of Prey, and the Enterprise. For a strictly comic book room, there's a model of the 1960's Bat-Plane as well. I also have a 3 ft. inflatable Spidey hanging over the entrance to the master bedroom. I'm actually in the process of hanging a Marvel Legends Vulture action figure being confronted by a black costumed Spidey. I use 2 lb test fishing line to hang them and gray cross-stitch thread for webbing. And of course major shout-out to my beautiful wife who puts up with my nerd obsessions!
YES! The 50% off sales are THE BEST!! I was able to get some of those wooden covers at the price I paid for some of the posters. I haven't been there in a while. It might be time to go see what's new. I hope I have the same trouble that you do when it comes to wall real estate. :) Oh my... the models sound amazing!!! I've always enjoyed Star Trek and Star Wars models. One of my coworkers has some AMAZING Star Trek models. When if you want to take your Comic Room to "The Ceiling" :) do what I did. Scour RUclips for comic room tours and take the ideas that you like best and for them into your dream comic room. That's the beautiful thing about collecting. Everyone has a different things to make their collection unique and special. Comic rooms should be the same. Just make sure you film it and put it on RUclips so I can check it out too!! Thank you for watching brother.
Great collection. I like how you face some of the omnibuses in order to see the front art. I am going to adopt that style in my book display. Great video.
It took me 40+ years to actually build a comic room so I love seeing younger guys who’ve prioritized their collections, thanks for the great tour, love the room. Lady killer is one of my modern favorites which most people overlook, great series I hope Joelle gets back to. Fun video Beta Ray, keep the passion, in this hobby the best is yet to come! Subscriber 149. Be awesome! Silver
Just saw this vid and enjoy your channel man. A recommendation on how to improve your collection from my experience is to only keep what you really love or means a lot to you and weed out the ones that don't. Although you wont find that out until you've read all your books so good luck haha
Ohh man! Great looking room. Those framed posters are awesome. The comic collection is definitely coming along. Thanks for the shoutout, Y The Last Man is definitely worth your time. Another win for the NWO!
Love the retro posters... wish I had wall room for more. Lots of great reading in those Omnibus of course. I’m old so I tend to gravitate toward the Silver and Bronze Age so I’d like to see more of those. I’d also like to recommend some Charlton and DC Horror as the art is quite good and the stories sometimes really well done. Thanks for the great tour... your setup is neat and accessible which is not something I can say.😁
Metarog THANK YOU for the advice! I'll definitely add some DC horror to my collection soon. I've never heard of Charlton but I'll be sure to take a look. Thanks again!!
Lovely room! The world of comics is pretty vast - so there’s quite a bit of other material you may like to explore. You already pointed out DC - given your Marvel affection- I’d recommend going with some DC before branching into other areas like European, etc. For DC - try a Legion book, V for Vendetta, All Star Superman, Flash (Johns) and Green Lantern (Johns) I may not have seen it, but Planet Hulk is a must-read for you based on what I saw. I have a RUclips channel that I’m thinking of reviving: Collected Edition Comics. I have a few videos of early material (1700’s-1950’s), but I suspect you would enjoy 1980’s to present. If you like the 70’s - then Green Lantern/Green Arrow is a good bet. Also, Marshal Rogers Batman is really very, very good.
Nice clean room. Really like your posters. As far as how you can make your collection better, well you could really use an original Action Comics #1 and Detective Comics #27. That would spruce things up nicely!
You need the Batman No Man's Land run, they have 7 tpbs, but DC did solicit Road to No Man's Land Omni, also, you also should gey Batman Hush which is in Absolute format
AWESOME!! I love these recommendations. Hush Absolute is on my list. I'll def pick up Road to No Man's land when it comes out. Thanks for the advice and for watching brother!
YES!!! I have heard great things about these books and I also heard a rumor that they will be getting a reprint soon! I will certainly be picking them up. Thanks brother!!
I love the posters. I rarely see comic book cover posters on walls. They are beautiful. My question is where all the comic books, lol. I hardly saw any or do you just collect the omnibuses?
I'm surprised no one had mentioned the lack of comics in my comic room before!! I am in the middle of organizing/sorting my books and they are currently in another room. I was so eager to film this video I never thought of bringing them back into the room and taking time to talk a little about them!! I also never filmed my pc/streaming desk. As you can see I'm new at this. Growing pains! 😁
@@BetaRayJim Well, I just subbed so I'm looking forward to seeing that collection. I have a big 1000K celebration live show Contest of Champions this Sunday at 8pm ESD. I'm giving away a ton of prizes and four channels are battling it out for the title King of comic book trivia. I posted a practice vid this last Sunday to warm up the contestants.
Dope room tour man ! Love the posters and the books. Def check out Y the Last Man and Uncanny X Force they are both fantastic. Wish I had some of those Omnis !!!!
@@BetaRayJim That’s my issue. Always trying to trim down my floppy copies but always seem to get sucked into another back issue run I wanted to read / collect as a kid. The struggle is real. Be well.
Hi Jim, one question, in USA all the Marvel Comics are Omnibus? Or why you have all Omnibus? Looks great congratulations, and go for more DC comics is great too!!🙌🏻🙌🏻
@@BetaRayJim hey and it's not on us making those choices! Buying a poster doesn't comply us with them. Some aren't as lucky as I who live in a big city and have many options. But how much were those posters on average?
@@_C_Squared_ On average they were right around $15/each. Some more. Some less. Allposters.com has a good selection but their shipping time can take FOREVER and I never got an order from them that wasn't at least a little damaged. Buyer beware!
I recently started collecting single issues again. I've got a few short boxes and one long box. I'm thinking about moving some of the Magic stuff out and keeping my short boxes in some of those shelves. My comic room certainly doesn't have enough comic books in it. Thanks for watching!! 👊
The shelves are Better Homes & Gardens purchased from Walmart.com. I've heard great things about the Kallax shelves but I don't have an Ikea in my area and shipping was very high.
Brother hella collection hey I love both marvel and DC get what you love. Just because you shelves have more marvel then DC no big that's you bro. Me I go for the stories so if it's more one then the other it is what it is.
I love your videos, I'm not a youtuber by any means But I do follow people with cool mancaves, comic rooms and gaming rooms, I uploaded a video of what my mancave looks like now and will upload another video after I'm done with hotwheel wall, I would appreciate if you watch my video on my channel its a simple video I don't care for subscribers just want to share with people, thank you. The room is an extra room in my house it has no windows so its not habitable for a living space for my children so when the wife and I bought the house we knew it was going to be my mancave since the last house we sold was small 2 bedroom and a small office but with an other baby on the way we needed a bigger house.
