- Durante la realización de este test, hemos obtenido resultados muy buenos de cara a la seguridad de los pasajeros. El XC40 es un vehículo fácil de controlar cuando se realiza la esquiva brusca, aunque la velocidad de entrada a la que no derribamos conos no fue alta. Las reacciones fueron siempre muy progresivas y estables.
El Volvo XC40 es un modelo con aspecto de todoterreno y de menor tamaño que los XC60 y XC90. La producción comenzó en noviembre de 2017 y, por el momento, está disponible con tres motores de gasolina -T3 de 156 CV, T4 de 190 CV y T5 de 247 CV- y uno Diesel -D4 de 190 CV-. A mediados de 2018 llegará la versión Diesel de menor potencia -D3 de 150 CV- y más adelante, en una fecha aún sin concretar, una variante híbrida enchufable y otra eléctrica.
Mide 4,43 metros de longitud, por lo que se trata de una alternativa a modelos como el Audi Q3, el BMW X1, el Jaguar E-PACE o el Mercedes-Benz GLA. Tomando como referencia la versión más asequible (T3 de 156 CV; 30 950 €), el XC40 es más barato que todas las versiones equivalentes de los modelos citados.

Este coche se las trae, solo el precio es un poco elevado pero en general ofrece buen comportamiento, equipamiento y estilo que otros de su categoría. Volvo va por muy buen camino.
Es un vehículo premium, no esperes que esté a precio de Toyota…

Aalok Galappatti because gti has a esc with minimal setting so it’s faster round the corners. you need do the work. In this case it’s simple, you push a bit the brakes and that’s it.
But cars like this need an aggressive esc otherwise they roll over

Flabbius D .. eppure l' ho vista in giro questa x2 ed è carina e grintosa ( posizione e forma scarichi posteriori copiati dalla Stelvio) .. non farebbe presupporre problemi di stabilità ed handling .. ci vorrebbe una prova approfondita, ma già il risultato di questo test, non promette bene

Where is the Volvo XC 90 in slalom? Is probably very bad and a mess in the slalom the XC 90 therefore it is not filmed. Here in Germany it has been found that the XC 90 quickly locks the wheels to avoid tipping over. He is then no longer maneuverable and slides into oncoming traffic
Vale que no pasa la prueba a una velocidad muy alta, pero es por muy poco y bastante por encima, mantiene aún mucha nobleza y por un pelo no lo consigue. En mi opinión, bastante mejor que el X2. Por eso creo que mucha gente se equivoca centrándose solo en el dato de la velocidad. Este XC40 en la vida real tendría bastantes más posibilidades de evitar un obstáculo y salir con bien que el X2, que no solo manifestó un subviraje terrible, sino que a 75 ya es incapaz de mantenerse en el carril derecho al volver a él, cosa que el Volvo consigue sin problemas aunque tire un cono.

Y esta versión de xc40 no es la más deportiva, me gustaría ver el resultado de la versión R-Design del xc40, ya que el x2 es considerado un deportivo, pero que al final tiene poco de deportivo

Excellent results for Volvo considering its ground clearance (one pf the critical parameters influencing the speed achievable) which is much higher than Audi, BMW and many others!

Que pise marginalmente un cono a 77 km con las reacciones que muestra no tendría importancia. Muy buena estabilidad para 21 mm al piso.

If you want a safer and sportier suv I recommend alfa romeo stelvio, and bmw x4 but they are not going to drive like small sedans obviously
The x4 completes the test at the same speed with less bodyroll, it has lower center of gravity and 50:50 brake distribution. However the esc is still tuned for safety that’s why it gets a decent 77kph, but if you want to have fun it has a dtc or a esc off mode... or just rent a go kart. Stelvio is said to actually be fun. X4 is ok but not that entertaining

Similar to the XV 2018 (same enter speed).
But you clearly see that the Volvo is better for the road. The Xv more for off-road.

I always came up with same question. Did you try 74-75-76 km for this car ? I beleive that xc40 could pass this test with one of these speeds. If you tried and if it failed, please add them to the video to make everything clear.

The way I interpret it was that at 73 KM/h it aces the test, at 78 KM/h it fails by hitting a cone. So in between that is less than desired results at 74-75-76 but passes the test by not hitting a cone.

@@scottysvensson irrelevant comment... my knowledge of physics is fine... in this case while mass may be an underlying factor, it is irrelevant for this test. The Opel simply beats the Volvo (and many others)... some lighter some heavier. At the end of the day that's what matters

The ground clearance of the Opel? The XC40 is impressive for its real SUV -like number of 21 cm ! This is one of the major variables for the drive ability/cornering, few people understand enough!
