    Hey John. I use the Custom Format pretty much daily. It is very useful for loading asset numbers that have to always be 7 digits. My question is why they don't appear in the formula bar when you click on one? it only shows the original number.

      That's the problem, it's only a format and doesn't change the data.

      Yes but the good thing is the database doesn't seem to care. LOL

    It's gr8 to know many ways to do a thing, I thing you can use repeat function also to get leading zero 😉
    =Rept("0",12-len(a1))
    Here i used 12 becoz I want to get max 12 digit

    I'm having an issue where I need to add leading zeros after text. So in your "right function" example, how would I add leading zeroes BETWEEN the text and the numbers? For example, "A0001" and "B0002".

    I would like to add a 0 in the time for single digit hours IE. 07:10 hrs cannot seem to format as it always removes t he 0 which i add

    i am not able to use the file after i saved and open it as normal format (with leading zero in csv)...i need to export the csv file with infront of zero leading to other applications? can you please help me on this

      Which method are you using? Try one that treats the number as a text value.

      @@HowToExcelBlog I need the csv format file only when I export to the salesforce application....all the process are working fine but after it changed the leading zero I saved in one folder and again open to export it will be normal one and I checked that file(csv-changed leading zero) and open as normal #not showing again proper leading zero format... Please guide me

    In Power Query, I am unable to enable M Intellisence
    Can you guide me
    I have subscription based office with semi annual channel Update
    and Particular update came on 14 Jan-2020 by Microsoft
    At the moment I have latest build 14 Apirl
    In Power Query Editor, I am unable to find M Intellisence whether I have to install something (any specific software)

      Not sure. Try changing to monthly channel.

      I didn't have to do anything to get it, it just appeared one day after an update. Back in Sept if I recall.

      Click on the "CC" icon in the lower right-hand corner to get subtitles.
