Hi John.. cool.. thanks for the tips. Also.. thanks for continuing to post new videos during this stressful and troubling time. Nothing better than improving our Excel skills during the lock-down while we all wait this thing out. Thumbs up for How to Excel and stay safe out there!!
Hey John. I use the Custom Format pretty much daily. It is very useful for loading asset numbers that have to always be 7 digits. My question is why they don't appear in the formula bar when you click on one? it only shows the original number.
It's gr8 to know many ways to do a thing, I thing you can use repeat function also to get leading zero 😉 =Rept("0",12-len(a1)) Here i used 12 becoz I want to get max 12 digit
I'm having an issue where I need to add leading zeros after text. So in your "right function" example, how would I add leading zeroes BETWEEN the text and the numbers? For example, "A0001" and "B0002".
i am not able to use the file after i saved and open it as normal format (with leading zero in csv)...i need to export the csv file with infront of zero leading to other applications? can you please help me on this
@@HowToExcelBlog I need the csv format file only when I export to the salesforce application....all the process are working fine but after it changed the leading zero I saved in one folder and again open to export it will be normal one and I checked that file(csv-changed leading zero) and open as normal #not showing again proper leading zero format... Please guide me

Yes, not much else to do. I've been watching quite a few RUclips videos myself too 😂
Much helpful 👍
As a new user this was a little overwhelming but I do appreciate the numerous ways to do this as I practice.
Thanx alot... It worked for me

That's the problem, it's only a format and doesn't change the data.
Yes but the good thing is the database doesn't seem to care. LOL
@@renedanos8877 good to hear. Best not to question why 😂

I would like to add a 0 in the time for single digit hours IE. 07:10 hrs cannot seem to format as it always removes t he 0 which i add

Which method are you using? Try one that treats the number as a text value.

Not sure. Try changing to monthly channel.
I didn't have to do anything to get it, it just appeared one day after an update. Back in Sept if I recall.
=BASE(Reference, 10, width)
Excellent tip Tony. I wasn't aware of this one 😀
I seem to have missed something Tony, what does =BASE(Reference, 10, width) do?
Thanks for your videos. But you speak very fast . Could you add subtitle for better learning.
Click on the "CC" icon in the lower right-hand corner to get subtitles.
Also, you can always pause and rewind the video!
8 ways? Good grief! Can Excel just put a fuc*ing zero where I want one? SIMPLE. All the "options"! The next one is more complicated than the last!
Blurry af!
Try glasses or better internet connection 😜
