I love your apple butter recipe..I make it often for my family..I decided to try water bath canning for the 1st time thanks to you making it look so simple..they are in the canner as we speak :)
Thank you so much for sharing your recipe I ate apple butter for the first time a couple weeks ago and I love it and I'm definitely going to make me some!!!!
My granny always made homemade apple butter. Can’t wait to try your instant pot recipe/method! What brand is your water bath canner pot? I’ve read granite ware is not safe for glass top cooktops? I have a glass top and looking for a good pot for water bath canning. Also, what size jars did you use for the apple butter? Thank you so much! Love your videos!
Im not sure what brand my pot is. I got itty at an estate sale. I've read that you can use any pot as long as there's 2 inches of water covering the top of the jars. Im using point size jars. Thanks for reaching out.
Apple anything takes me back to childhood and going to relatives’ homes to eat. Luann, I have heard that you no longer have to boil the lids anymore, due to the Ball company making the seal with another sealing agent. In fact, one video about canning said you may damage the lids if you boil them, and it could cause your lid to fail. I just got a new canning book from from the USDA Center for Home Food Preservation. I’m going to research that a bit more. Thanks for your video! ♥️❣️🙏🏼❣️♥️
Any thoughts on adding cocoa to the mix & if so, what amount of extra sugar to balance the increased bitterness? Loved the recipe, brings back memories 😄
In this video for the apple butter, you say natural release 10 minutes. In the previous video it was 20 minutes. I dont suppose it makes much difference. If it does, please tell me which is correct.
Leave them on the counter for 24 hours. This should give them enough time to seal. Press your finger in the middle of the lid, if it pushes in, it is NOT sealed. If it is solid and doesn't move its sealed.

I have heard that the boiling was optional but not that it would damage them. Thanks for letting me know.
@@HeartFilledHomemaking - I don’t recall which video it was….I’ve watched so many.

I haven't ever heard of cocoa apple butter. Thanks for sharing the idea and for reaching out. 😁
Chocolate goes with everything! Including making wine 🍷
Hey I agree. I never say no to chocolate, 👍😁
Hi, I was wondering if it would be safe for me to can this recipe using Splenda brown sugar.
I personally haven't tried it but I have seen that there are several videos for it here okn RUclips. Maybe check one of those out.
In this video for the apple butter, you say natural release 10 minutes. In the previous video it was 20 minutes. I dont suppose it makes much difference. If it does, please tell me which is correct.
Thank you for pointing this out!! It's definitely 15 cook time and 20 minutes natural release.
Is it possible to steam can the jars in the instant pot? I probably should mention I have an electric pressure cooker that has the option to can.
I'm not sure. I personally haven't tried it because I my water bath canner holds more jars.
Do these water bath canner cost $47? I'm new to canning. Nice recipe. Thanks for sharing.
No that's just the Amazon price. You can find them cheaper at Walmart. I found mine brand new at an estate sale for $10
I found mine at a thrift store for $5 . The whole set.
Hello there. How do I know if they are sealed? I only heard one pop. Thank you.

@@HeartFilledHomemaking Thank you for your quick reply. Have a wonderful day!
