Hi Laura I congratulate you on climbing Aconcagua. Thank you for the wonderful film! There are many unforgettable memories! I was allowed to stand on the summit of Aconcagua 30 years ago on December 24, 1990. I wish you good and unforgettable mountain tours! With alpine greetings Raphael Wellig
Hi Laura! Just watched your video and i'm actually heading for Aconcagua in two weeks ☺☺☺any tips for the ladys? 😉 i'm climbing with a friend but also doing it solo, no organized expedition. My biggest fear is the cold as i suffer pretty bad with cold hands and had a small scare once on the mountain.... i'm going heavy on the gloves this time! Congratulations on your summit. .... 😘
I did as well. I had a lot of hand warmers and feet warmers with me. I would make sure to have lots of layers. I got some what lucky with my summit with the wind. Your gear is key!! What day do you start?
Also, besides a day pack, I hear there is a need for a 80 L - 100 L backpack. Can you advise as to what is the best liter bag and maybe a backpack recommendation?
There's sooo many different types of backpacks. I highly recommend simply getting a backpack for what you are doing the most. For example, I have a 65L backpack, the top can come off making it 55L which works great for both. For this hike that's what I used the entire time.
@@LauraLeanne - Did you take your pack all the way to the top? I hear that some people leave their pack at the Canaleta when they summit. Did many people use a small pack for summit day (even though that means bringing more weight to Camp 3)? Congrats on your success and thanks for any advice you can give.
@@TrekStar30 confusing to explain. You always have 2 sets. 1 goes to Basecamp and 1 to get there. Then you have one on high camp. For summit day I had a 36L bag that just had layers, food water in it. You can leave stuff at the caneleta on summit day but I wanted my stuff with me along the way and was happy I brought it because I needed water and snacks. I hope that helps!
You'll want to do your own research and have your own game plan as I'm not a trained professional. It takes 3 hours plus permit stuff from mendoza each way to the trailhead. It takes 2 days to get down from the summit as well. It's also rare a weather window happens. So most people give themselves 3 days to try and get 1. It also depends how acclimatized you are before going in for how many acclimatization hikes you will do on the mountain. We went faily straight up and it took 16 days and got the first weather window day.
Good question! At Basecamp we took 5 days there. The exact was - first day rest day. 2nd day carry to camp 2. 3rd day carry to camp 1. 4th day rest day. 5th day carry again to camp 1. 6th day move to camp 1. I'll be doing a full video in the future directly on that question though so stay tuned!
Hi Laura, I am planning to do Aconcagua in Jan’23 and I would like to hear from you what I can do to prepare for successful summit. I also saw that you did Kilimanjaro and I also did Kilimanjaro in 2016 Feb. It was very nice expedition. How can I connect with you? I would like to get contacts of some local tour operators etc. Thanks in advance.

I commented on ig but this might be easier . Do you have a video of what you brought to Aconcagua ? I didn’t see it but might have just missed it 😊
Congratulations Laura!!!!
What tents did u use? How many?
Great inspiration! You just go straight camp by camp? did not go up then down then up…?
I did not. You won't be able to function that way. If you watch all of my aconcagua videos though I show my full route!
Thanks! Why your always said “we”, you did it solo right ?

Hey there! I just answered this question in my latest video :) ruclips.net/video/IppoVKFqUOQ/видео.html
Congrats! What did you think you did differently the second time around that allowed you to summit?
Hi there! I have a few different videos on this specific subject
What kind of glasses do you recommend?
Also, besides a day pack, I hear there is a need for a 80 L - 100 L backpack. Can you advise as to what is the best liter bag and maybe a backpack recommendation?
Hi Jeff! Jublo is a great brand for mountaineering glasses. I would say most people including myself have them.

Laura one more crucial question: hoq many days did you do on ur last trip? I am planning 12, dont know if feasible...

Laura, which one did you have? Basic, Normal or Premium non guided?
ruclips.net/video/IppoVKFqUOQ/видео.html if you watch this video I go into this more 😊
How much time did you spend at base camp acclimating? ... looks like you made the summit very fast.

@@LauraLeanne thank you. Makes sense you went up and down. I was wondering.
I went into a little more detail on this on my latest video too! ruclips.net/video/IppoVKFqUOQ/видео.html
