First off, if you're actually buying water hoses without a female coupler on one end, and a male coupler on the other end, then you have bigger issues than just needing a coupler! Second, this hack ONLY works if you have that type/size of PVC laying around, and the exact size nut you need to make the threads. If you don't have either of those, you will need to buy those items, thus negating the need to come up with the hack!

This method requires a very specific set of circumstances.
1: you need to connect 2 female adapters. You have no other option.
2: You need to be in possesion of a nut with the correct thread.
3: You need to be in possesion of a plastic pipe with the correct diameter, made from a type of plastic that melt instead of burning to a crisp.
4: you need to have immediate access to a heat source that will heat the nut to a specific temperature.
If at all possible, I would just buy a quick connect set instead. I live in Denmark, so a set from Gardena (one that would only let water through when connected) would be the obvious choice...

Soooooo, instead of just buying the coupler, likely with included washers as well, for a few bux, you need to have:
-- a metal fitting of the exact size and thread,
-- a length of plastic pipe the exact right diameter,
-- a convenient gas stove to heat the fitting,
-- a utility knife to trim the finished pipe, etc., and
-- *still* need washers to prevent leaks.
Like, great, it can be done if you have all that stuff handy, but why bother?
I can just imagine someone walking into a supply store to buy the metal fitting, pipe, etc., and making a kludgey homebrew adapter, instead of just buying the exact perfectly-fitting adapter directly.

It looks like somebody put the wrong connector on one hose.

Personally I'd simply use the other end of the hose. The one that already has a male end on it.

where I'm from, it's easier to buy the correct part than making one... coz most will not have the necessary material to make one anyways

I can still go to the store or turn the hose around

At least you have me an idea of how to directly connect PVC piping to a garden hose without having to buy a bunch of adapters and/or how to make a new PVC connector for a stripped one.

It would have been easier to just remove one of those hose ends and put those threads on the plain hose end exposed instead of making a double-ended piece.
