As long as they're only selling to the Amethyst Academy, the stuff is unlikely to be spread recklessly throughout the world. Trading delerium to the sketchy merchants in Emberwood Village is definitely a terrible idea. EDIT:I just got the full story. They've had to do it, but yikes. Lucretia might've be right-- this age is ending.
Paladin squires, trying to avenge their fallen master: “They deserved it, no regrets.” Man eating ratlings, throughout the campaign: “Aww they’re so cute!”. I’ve said it before but I gotta give props to Monty, he estabilished each faction with several pros/cons and clear motivations, and has yet to go back on his words in favor of the players decisions. The academy obviously wants to wiggle out as much as possible from giving Drakkenheim a strong political basis, and seem to be getting ahead of the other factions. Meanwhile the ratlings are en route to becoming the BBEG. Paladins who wanted to burn buildings and purge monsters got destroyed... #ArthasDidNothingWrong Great show guys.
I agree initially they should have sided with the paladins to destroy the delirium instead of satisfying Sebastian's hunger for power and delirium, since as I thought then and as is shown in this episode the delirium is just too dangerous to be left out in the world. Delirium basically is the uranium of this d&d world, and the academy is turning it into nukes and using it to create weapons and ''supercharging'' their mages. And the academy lied ages ago when Sebastian asked if they knew of delirium existing in the world before the meteor, so they can't be trusted imo. But I do think in this case the paladins did deserve it. The silver order declared war on drakkenheim. They were roaming the streets and ruins looking for something they knew our group and the people in charge of DH needed. And when confronting our group they behaved like arrogant, blind zealots breaking their word first chance they got. Remember the paladin commander basically demanded Pluto hand over the sword he and the group fought for fair and square, relic or not, and then challenged Pluto to a one on one duel to get the sword. And then when the commander lost he refused mercy, and when he died the rest of the paladins decided to break the deal and attack our three anyway. If anything the paladins acted remarkably dishonourable IMO. But as I said, I would have sided with the paladins in the first place even if I think they're annoyingly preachy... :) As you say, good job from Monty for creating such interesting factions of which none is black or white and all are shades of grey. The only faction I immediately disliked and distrusted was the queen of thieves as it was instantly clear to me she was a sneaky manipulator. It amazes me they liked her as much as they did in the beginning. She played our 3 like a fiddle... But again, props to Monty for that.

Why haven't they started sending food from the tower to the hooded lanterns? If the kitchen is automatically making hero's feasts to feed 80+ people a feast anyways, and probably do it 2-3 times a day and likely end up throwing most (if not all of it) away, and already have constructs that can traverse the city rather safely, they could easily send shipments of hero's feasts to the barracks and feed the troops and boost them daily. If it costs 6000 for 600 men, and the hooded lanterns go through 1000 a day, AND it's already stated that they roughly have 100+ men, this is VERY doable and cuts costs SIGNIFICANTLY, stretching it out roughly 2-3 fold.
I was half expecting Pluto Jackson till start telling outrageous lies to the point where the sword just burst forth in fiery Flame crying out that is a liar heading that way tame the blade lmao 😂🔥🔪🤥😢😭😊
I love watching how Monty balances the game! Sometimes DMs (myself included) struggle with finding that balance of rewards that feel exciting and grand enough for huge accomplishments while not overpowering the players with too much treasure and magic items. I loved the rewards and positions of power they got a little while ago, and mercenaries are an awesome idea for getting allies AND spending their gold
Maybe a future Quest. Episode 41. 47:00. The magical pipe to control ratlings. Episode 42. 32:40. Using the blood to scry and find the princes and princesses. 17:10. Episode 43 . The sewers could take you into the crater. I don't remember the episode number.... The 4 Turtles 🐢, The hero's Bow, The Dutchess,
If you need to absolutely destroy a priority target buy a few necklaces of fireballs, get hooded lanterns into place, and if you can get a surprise round with them each one hits for 8d6
When they said "Seven" together it legit sounded like a modulated voice clip or something. Super demonic. LOL. I had to go back and listen to it a few times.
Lol this reminds me of my campaign when the party assaluted drow assasins lair. Walked in confidently and after 3 crossbow bolts the tanky paladin dropped and everyone started panicking and looking for cover 😅
Hey. I've been catching up on these amazing episodes of this campaign (just got to the part where you guys sneak the queen out of the city to Oscar). I've been listening to them via spotify while I'm at work. Unfortunately, there's only 2 more episodes uploaded there before I run out (a total of 13 episodes on spotify). I'm not sure how difficult it is to convert them from RUclips to spotify, but if it's possible to upload some more so I can continue to listen to your campaign, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm really a fan of what the Dungeon Dudes are doing and I've been learning a whole lot from your channel. Thank you for all the great content you guys put out.
Hi Brian! One of our goals with our podcast release was to remaster the audio for a better listening experience, so it’s taking us time to get the podcast episodes fully available. We are catching up and releasing about 1-2 per week as they are finished.
@@DungeonDudes thank you for replying to my comment (first time the creator messaged me back!). Quality over quantity is good standard to live by. My lack of patience will just have to get over itself. Thanks for doing what you guys are doing.
Concerning Veo wanting to spare the guy around 1:56:00 here to ask questions, unless what Monty was saying was a house rule, the D&D rules state that it assumes that players are normally opting to kill their opponents. They can, however, choose to drop the enemy to 0 HP so they have to make death saves, kind of a rule my Paladin of Redemption uses as he would rather capture enemies alive and either persuade them to do the right thing, or have them punished by the courts or whomever is in charge of dispensing the laws of the given area. Only truly evil creatures get the sword.
This rule only applies to melee attacks. Monty mentions it when they first visit Reed Manor and fight Gemma and the other assistant. She was using a longbow/crossbow, so that option wouldn't be available.
1:08:05... *VIVA LA REVOLUTION!* Though I am very concerned that the Ratlings have been in contact with a certain fell entity the team has been encountering one too many times... Also... *triple* crits...?? Really, Pluto!? Was that *really* necessary? He was already dead! And then Veo follows up with more... those assassins didn't know who they were dealing with, hmm. Even the Thief Queen's best couldn't kill them, even with a well-placed trap *and* advantageous shooting positions with poisoned arrows... But this is troubling. The Thief Queen needs to go, and soon.
They forgot that the queen of theist has 4 possibilities of 5. Which are the the queens ring, lord comannder, flame keep, Stuart seal, and possibly the guild leader.
bruh,he even showed mercy on Knight captain, and repeatedly asked him to accept defeat.it was either that or death at this point and while the KC was honorable enough to just die his men werent.dont forget they were dealing with fanatics, fucking zealots.there is no such thing as diplomacy with people that dont use common sence and replace it with blind faith and orders from someone that instagetes said faith.
Catching up, but I really appreciate that they are using the house rules for crits. Seems that it is fairer, but a bit overkill for the PCs. The crit on Sebastian was rough, but didn't take him out. Thoughts?
Game starts 2:34 2:38:56. You Better STOP the rats from summoning the demon orcas. Or one of his many servants that would be worse then the Queen of Thieves. Don't waist your last 4 days! 31:05. They keep talking about there plans out loud. Oops 46:40. Woohoo Rat Prince! What about the magic item to control the Rats? 49:45. Haha I was hoping the DM would bite them in the butt for sending the rats to the house with the demon statue in the basement. Haha 1:20:28. What's the worst that could happen. Lol I have to compliment you guys because after watching some other streams it's very frustrating when people don't know their characters or the rules. They are going to pay for not fixing the demond/rat god problem. The rats got Giant Delirium for the offering. It's a Oscar 2.0 .... At 2:31:40. They now have a week to maybe get the Rat Magical charm or maybe polymorph someone into a giant rat convince the rat Prince to destroy the Altar and they could take all the crystals delirium for expenses and Mercenaries Why not turn Pluto into a giant eagle and have him carry them to the wizard tower and other places.
The perephet is a necklace, and the ring a ring. I can't see how he can't keep both, and use the circlet as headwear, too. I can only think he thinks all three things are considered rings, where he can only have two equipped.
Attunement slots, you can only have 3 attuned items. The periapt, ring, Ignacious and seal all require attunement to use. While yes Ignacious won't allow Pluto to use him the attunement hasn't ended because of the curse.
@@crownlexicon5225 true but it is his mother not some random unhelpful shmuck and she left the spell for him specifically for a reason. At least that's what I would think.
@@wanderingartist7424 well, yeah, but I would say something like "well, the way the spell works, you have to ask a specific question. She answered your question"
@@crownlexicon5225 seeing as its a custom spell it would be up to the DM. Contact Other Plane normally gives one word answers or a short phrase all done over the course of a single minute.
@@wanderingartist7424 just because it's custom doesnt mean it's all powerful. I dont think Monty would answer that question the way you would like him to. Edit: granted, I dont actually know him, but based on the 43 or so episodes of this I've seen, that's what I believe
They have some extremely poweful magical items already. Giving them a Shield Guardian would be too much, in my opinion. Those things are incredibly resilient, and it would effectively increase the party size to four. It also risks occasionally upstaging Pluto by "stealing" melee glory.
The ratlings are adorable. I'd be tempted to side with them just bc I wouldn't want to kill them. Honestly, I side with Sebastian on hoping the ratlings just die during the assault against the Queen of Thieves It would solve the issue guilt-free
Veo should have taken the studded leather armor to switch to once she maxs her dex so she could shed the extra 27lbs from the half-plate and maintain her AC
I think the fact that it's a specially made piece of armour for her as Lord Commander with her crest on it, has more sentimental value than the 27lbs she'd shed. Mechanically it'd be preferable to switch out, but it wouldn't make much sense in game given how much Veo enjoyed receiving that armour.
I'm surprised by how many people would have sided with the paladins. They were outsiders who wanted to burn the city to the ground with no thought to the innocent lives (like maybe Veo's dad?) that could be bunkering down in sections or the ancient scrolls, artifacts, magic items, other badges that would have been destroyed. I don't care one way or the other about the delerium but outsiders demanding you burn your entire city down was a step too far. I also don't trust the amethyst Academy though.

Oh no... I wonder if the queen has the flute to control the ratlings!?
Rat Faction = Best Faction
yes yes yes
Monty's portrayal shows that not every good rat needs to be dead, it's not Warhammer :P Another great episode! :D
Why didn't you take the premium crossbows, swords and armor from the assassins? The hooded lanterns could have used it.
Seriously!!! Upgrade your NPC weapons
Great roleplaying, Good in fights, very poor in planning so I am not surprized but loving watching poor planning bite them. :)
I wish Veo would take an ability point in Dex to max out and swap to studded leather armor
**Pluto** please pick up "tough" feat!! Be that tank bro! Or heavy armor master lol
1 hr 20...
You're heading back to the amethyst academy to get your rings filled 👍🏼
I think talking with mom is one my favorite parts :)
Note to self, NEVER make Pluto Jackson jump out a window else someone is going to end up dead extremely fast
I knew when they sent Petunia to Oscar's home that they'd find Orcus.
Haven't watched yet but I better get my needed fix of rat prince by the end of this
When they said "Seven" together it legit sounded like a modulated voice clip or something. Super demonic. LOL. I had to go back and listen to it a few times.
"because it's going to be that easy," XD like the Queen of Thieves isn't going to have a counterattack planned
"Then cats give them to humans"
I hooe someone else's first thought was khajiit have wares if you have the coin
Big nose and Skritches are just doing it for me. 2021 confinement is so much more manageable.
The Rat Prince has seen more "Action" than Sebastion.
2:38:50
ORKUS! FCK YEAH!
I KNEW IT!
At their very first encounter and onwards!
Do you guys have a rule about only having so many magic items?
Just the standard 5e attunemenr rules.
I love that. Items not I spell I ever use so noone else does either.
I knew that sending the ratlings to Reed Manor was a bad idea
1:08:05...
*VIVA LA REVOLUTION!*
Though I am very concerned that the Ratlings have been in contact with a certain fell entity the team has been encountering one too many times...
Larry bakes the best cookies. He is a master at baking cookies. You could say Larry is a masterbaker. He masterbakes all day long.
They forgot that the queen of theist has 4 possibilities of 5. Which are the the queens ring, lord comannder, flame keep, Stuart seal, and possibly the guild leader.
Veo: "Can I not kill him?"
Pluto: "Oh, I didn't even think of that"
Me: "YOU SHOULD HAVE WHILE BATTLING THE KNIGHT CAPTAIN!!!!!!!!!!!"
bruh,he even showed mercy on Knight captain, and repeatedly asked him to accept defeat.it was either that or death at this point and while the KC was honorable enough to just die his men werent.dont forget they were dealing with fanatics, fucking zealots.there is no such thing as diplomacy with people that dont use common sence and replace it with blind faith and orders from someone that instagetes said faith.
I knew that they would find that demon when they sent the rats to that house.
In this episode we're having a quick glimpse at the deadest man in Drakkenheim's history
Catching up, but I really appreciate that they are using the house rules for crits. Seems that it is fairer, but a bit overkill for the PCs. The crit on Sebastian was rough, but didn't take him out. Thoughts?
Game starts 2:34
2:38:56. You Better STOP the rats from summoning the demon orcas. Or one of his many servants that would be worse then the Queen of Thieves. Don't waist your last 4 days!
31:05. They keep talking about there plans out loud. Oops
46:40. Woohoo Rat Prince! What about the magic item to control the Rats?
49:45. Haha I was hoping the DM would bite them in the butt for sending the rats to the house with the demon statue in the basement. Haha
1:20:28. What's the worst that could happen. Lol
I have to compliment you guys because after watching some other streams it's very frustrating when people don't know their characters or the rules.
They are going to pay for not fixing the demond/rat god problem. The rats got Giant Delirium for the offering. It's a Oscar 2.0 .... At 2:31:40. They now have a week to maybe get the Rat Magical charm or maybe polymorph someone into a giant rat convince the rat Prince to destroy the Altar and they could take all the crystals delirium for expenses and Mercenaries
Why not turn Pluto into a giant eagle and have him carry them to the wizard tower and other places.
don't forget there is 75k in gold in the cathedral!
Queen of thieves took it.
Love the game. Thanks for all you do.
Pluto: “I’m mad, I don’t like falling out windows, so I’m gonna attack them…”
Me: “but but… you sent yourself out the window” 😂😂😂
So good
Monty: you meet a dangerous monster who is going to become more dangerous given time. They will turn on you.
Party: This is my new friend.
Rat prince = new lord of the feast?
The perephet is a necklace, and the ring a ring. I can't see how he can't keep both, and use the circlet as headwear, too. I can only think he thinks all three things are considered rings, where he can only have two equipped.
Attunement slots, you can only have 3 attuned items. The periapt, ring, Ignacious and seal all require attunement to use. While yes Ignacious won't allow Pluto to use him the attunement hasn't ended because of the curse.
Next thing you know the rat king get 2 torches and starts yelling "ANARCHY!!!"
Damnit, Sebastian, ask your ghost mom if she has anything she wants to tell you! Although that's pretty metagamie... and probably too late.
I mean, that's an easy one to sidestep as a DM.
"Yes. There are many things I wish to tell you"
@@crownlexicon5225 true but it is his mother not some random unhelpful shmuck and she left the spell for him specifically for a reason.
Wonderful guys! Sebastian who has your soul!!?
Veo could have clawed him when he was running
Veo needs to make more “Purr” puns
The title excites me
Why does Sebastian not use Strength of the Grave?
Does Sebastian ever get his own magic armor guardian? That'd be pretty cool
Honestly, I side with Sebastian on hoping the ratlings just die during the assault against the Queen of Thieves
It would solve the issue guilt-free
Gosh I keep wanting Mage Slayer to be useful, but it seriously seems like it's never helpful.
Yeah, it's not a great feat. The 2024 version is improved.
Veeoooo?! JUPITER!?!?!?! Scandeloooouuuus
SPOILER
I knew that demon was Orkus from the moment Monty first described him
