Bob went to Abington High School in suburban Philly. My brother and Bob had many lunches together in high school. He was a truly nice guy, intelligent and friendly. We were both shocked at his passing. But, not surprised it was after he did a two hour show doing what he did best. He was a rarity for someone in the business, for sure.
I never met the celebrated Bob Saget, but he was the one that I watched on tv back in the 1980's. And someone I would have liked to have met. He will be missed by many.

Many have said that he was a nice guy who treated people well, but there are plenty of commenters here who say the opposite. Some here are lumping him in with the bad souls who prey on the innocent. They say that but offer no corroborating information. So typical, huh?

I’m really saddened by his death. Some of my foundest memories are from my little niece and myself watching Full House which was a genuinely family friendly funny show. Rest In Peace Bob. Thank you for giving us some happy memories.
Just because he did a family show, doesn't mean he has to follow his comedy vocation with having warm, fuzzy jokes. As long as he was above board on the set, that's what matters. Can't be one dimensional in life. See The Aristocrats movie about comedians and their take on a classic joke.
I ran into him in Phoenix in 1990, I just started my career as a designer and worked on the new airport terminal. He was passing through on his way back to CA. I couldn't think of what to ask him so I asked him what he thought of the terminal. He said "yeah, it's pretty nice." I just retired last year. We should probably name that concourse for him now, he was one of the first people to go through it. It ended up being named after Barry Goldwater but who remembers that guy? He was a has-been. Bob was still up and coming right up until the end. Total class act all the way. Wish I got his autograph.

I was in the orchestra for a Broadway show Bob did the last 3 months of the run called "The Drowsy Chaperone." He walked into the orchestra pit and introduced himself. "Hi. I'm Bob." A great man and entertainer.

My dad and I went to go see Johnny Carson shortly before he retired, April 29, 1992 and Bob Saget was the guest along with Bill Cosby and Harry Connick Jr. I remember him giving a cheap watch to Johnny and I think the band, it was hilarious. My dad and I never got to see that episode on TV because of the LA riots that day. I suspect I'll never get to see it because of the Bill Cosby connection but it would be awesome to see that episode with my dad.
Some real time and effort went into that photograph bit. That's comedy. His act was notoriously filthy, which is as good as an antiseptic for what ails us in these tense times. He'll be missed.

I remember back in the 80's Bob was on Full House and the Funniest Videos and was like the biggest guy in showbiz for a little while. You have to be really lucky. When it comes to a cardiac arrest. When I had mine I was driving taxi and it slowly bumped into a car at a dealership. I must have just put it in gear at a stop sign. The car salesman ran out and broke the window. The paramedics had to do 6 electric shocks on me. My downtime was 30 minutes. Downtime is when you're dead. I woke up in Vancouver General ICU 10 days later. The nurse came in and asked 'Do you know where you are?; I guessed Vancouver right. I had like a VIP room with a view of the street. I love Vancouver. Then she asked 'Do you know how long you've been here"' No idea. She said 10 days. And I asked 'Are you sure' a bunch of times so she came over with a calendar and counted out the days for me since I had got there.
Jeremiah Johnson made his way into the mountains, bettin on forgettin all the troubles that he knew. The trail was wide and narrow, the eagle or the sparrow showed the path he was to follow , as they flew. A mountain man’s a lonely man and he leaves a lot behind . He often times will question. And he often times will find. The story doesn’t always go, the way you had in mind. And Jeremiah’s story was that kind.
always liked him. you just had to seems like back then. didn't have the pretentious super star attitude (at least it didn't seem like it) but rather a decent down to earth guy. you just had to like a guy like that. imho

If there was ever one show that many of us took for granted (including myself), it was The Tonight Show with JC…back in the day, it would come on and we’d flip on by with little regard. Little did we know that the show…and Johnny…would quickly become a lost American gem and institution. If I could only go back and watch those episodes live before bed on my parent’s Zenith crt TV…every weeknight at 10:30CDT. Moral of the story-those “golden years” are actually happening this very second. Don’t take time for granted. Embrace every moment as if it’s your last…because time flies by so darn fast.
Sad news about Bob Saget. His stand up routines were a barrage of profanity laced hysterics. I miss Carson. I watch reruns on Tubi and his guest were a who's who of celebrities, comedians, animals and ordinary people.

If there was ever one show that many of us took for granted (including myself), it was The Tonight Show with JC…back in the day, it would come on and we’d flip on by with little regard. Little did we know that the show…and Johnny…would quickly become a lost American gem and institution. If I could only go back and watch those episodes live before bed on my parent’s Zenith crt TV…every weeknight at 10:30CDT. Moral of the story-those “golden years” are actually happening this very second. Don’t take time for granted. Embrace every moment as if it’s your last…because time flies by so darn fast.

Sad news about Bob Saget. His stand up routines were a barrage of profanity laced hysterics. I miss Carson. I watch reruns on Tubi and his guest were a who's who of celebrities, comedians, animals and ordinary people.

Jesus, it was getting a bit dark by the end of it 😀 I kinda like it.. I think it’s inevitable for any comedian to reach that point (laughing about death and mortality and the ideals..)..
I saw this episode when it first came out and specifically remember him referring to "Jimmy Stewart" (kissing up) who had just walked off.
All three of these talented gentlemen have passed away already. It makes me feel old, and it makes me miss my dad. If you still have your parents, spend some time with them! They aren't always going to be around.

I’ve never seen Johnny get ohhed by the crowd he didn’t like that , he looked kinda flustered at the end after he went too dark w the dead relatives joke

I'm sorry. I'm sure Bob was a nice guy but none of this is funny, let alone witty. Subpar comedian at best.
