I (Dad) accidentally deleted about two days worth of videos. I thought I was overwriting the files but was overwriting the whole FOLDER. I tried a few recovery software, but I learned that it is easier to recover deleted files versus "overwritten" files. So, goodbye memories. It was a good one, too, since this is the first time I am finally playing with the camera settings. The few shots that survived are the ones from the Old bridge scene, the close-up butterfly shot, and my hiking scenes.
So, Instead of making this a series, I put everything in one film. I was planning to make a movie out of our series anyway, and this will be the very first.
We will be back in some of these places since next on our list will be the Smoky Mountain 1000. This event will take a lot of planning and gas money for sure. But, this will be redemption for Dad.
A few take away:
-Storytelling still needs improvement, learning as we go.
-We need a drawer system real bad. We need better organization
-You cant walk with crocs on river rocks!
-Lots of hard drive storage.

Fabulous area to explore. Loved the aerial shots early in the movie. Not so thrilled to see the Timber Rattlesnake. We don`t have many snakes in the UK so are not used to them. North Carolina does look so wonderfully wild where you were.

Major bummer on losing some of your footage. Despite that, you still put together an amazing adventure and great story! I always love finding those areas of the country that are a bit more remote to explore. Loved the Old Iron Bridge and the Linville Gorge - I can see why it is called the Grand Canyon of the east. That was beautifully and professionally done once again and I am sorry to hear about the lost footage. This was still amazing, loved the forest and that "old" bridge, yes, I hear ya, it seems so solid and structurally sound. I just love that extensive mountain forest setting down there and I am glad you are going again soon. No wonder they call it the Grand Canyon on this side of the country. That Linville Falls was beautiful too.

I would have loved to see those erased clips, but this video is still very nice. Great intro of this beautiful place. also a good mix of standard camera clips and drone video clips. The lake system when you see it from above is so wonderful. This is what I used to do when I was living in Australia, driving to secluded areas, just enjoying the best of what nature has to offer. Here in Sweden, that is not that easy to find a spot where one can be alone. Love the butterflies too. Thank you for an excellent video and have a great week.🙂👍

Dang! too bad about your lost footage. I had that happen too. I ended up buying 3 external hard drives and I make a triple backup of all my footage from now on. That looked like a great float trip. I love seeing those old bridges. Looked sketch but plenty strong. Nice job overlaying the map and being descriptive of the area. Pretty neat. Those water falls are beautiful. Awesome to see the gorge and your overlanding journey throughout. Love it. Thanks for sharing your trip and adventures. Have a great day.

Hi Max that was so so good , it's a shame you accidentally deleted 2 days worth of footage but this what you brought together was great. Loved seeing The Savannah River and the forest where you hiked. The footage of the mountains was stunning especially neat the high cliff area overlook where you could hear the rapids. Loved the camp set up where little Max was colouring pictures and you were having a movie night. Linville Falls looked stunning and it was cute seeing the lizard , not sure about the rattlesnake though hehe. Hey friends! Wow what a great video! Your drone shots are always so captivating! I really enjoyed seeing this area from above. We have the Cherohala skyway on our list of places to drive! Sorry to hear about the accidently video deletions. Oh, I have run out of memory before and its no fun at all. I just purchased a 5 pack of cards so when traveling I dont have to worry about losing space :) I bought a new expansion memory device for my computer as well so all my old pics and video I can just transfer to there and free up my computer :) The kayaking look so nice, sorry we didnt get to see Max learning to swim! You did see so many butterflies what a nice treat! And that snake, yikes! I would have been a bit nervous! Good thing to always listen to Mom for the better views ;) It was worth the few extra miles! A beautiful area and video. The forest, lakes, and rock formations we're gorgeous! Shame about all the trash but we find that too. It's heartbreaking to lose video. That's happened to us to so many times. Enjoyed seeing the butterflies, and we also had no cell service in Northern Canada on our recent trip. They still have working pay phones in the small towns! Beautiful drone footage mixed in throughout. The forest covered mountains were stunning. Loved the hiking and kayaking. Thanks so much for bring us along Max, with you and your parents!
