Enjoyed this symphony for its energy, optimism! Features nice orchestral colors too: this is interesting also because Pacini was a contemporary of C.M. von Weber, Meyerbeer, Berlioz, and Mendelssohn --composers heavily associated to the development of 19th-century virtuoso, coloristic orchestration.

+Harry Andruschak At least seven operas has been recorded, Saffo is considered to be his best.

The key is D minor.
although composed about 7 years after liszt's dante symphony, the style is somewhat older, like a collaboration between rossini and mendelssohn.
