Honestly, I'd love Mr Stick and Burton to be husbands, because we rarely get gay couples like them in media. Gay characters are too often defined by their sexuality, while Mr Stick's "miser" archetype is one that is traditionally devoid of sexuality. You subvert both by combining them.
The resulting dynamic is kinda like if Ebenezer Scrooge and Jacob Marley were married, and I for one find that potential dynamic very interesting.
