Thank you again for picking up the razor, Chris. You're doing it right riding the cap a little bit with the shave. The blade sits a bit flatter in the head then you'll find with many razors. You nailed it though. It was designed for multiple days of growth and for getting a shave in less than three passes.
Thanks Rod. I enjoyed this one. It will be nice to use the standard plate in a few days and see how that goes. This razor is definitely efficient. If one needs more efficiency than this razor offers, it's time to go to the straight:)
Morning Chris. I have many Stirling soaps and love all of them. I wish I could do an aggressive shave but I can’t. That is a beautiful razor. You do a fabulous job with the razor. Take care enjoy your weekend and God bless you and your family.
Excellent shave, Chris! That HA plate looks like it would be too much for me. Looking forward to your vid with the standard plate. Stirling looks to have some quality stuff, I definitely need to give them a try!
Wow! I am glad you got a great shave with the Stirling razor Chris! I hope that when you use the HA plate again that you would use a Feather blade. You know the old saying, "In for a penny, in for a pound." You did a great presentation of the Sterling razor. Have an awesome day!
Thanks foryour shave today Chris. Not for me the razor, but I do love sterling soaps. I have 5 so I've a way to go to catch you, but do agree that their scents are good and they tend to be easy to lather-for me. Have a good weekend, and have a special Easter Day.
I almost pulled the trigger on the Inequity... I should have! Great shave Chris... As Big John used to say, the quality of your water has a lot to do with your ability to lather certain soaps. Getting a bit tan I see! Good to be outdoors again! Happy Easter! 😁
Thanks Chris. Stirling always hits the spot for me. The weather was great but the last few days it's been crap. It snowed on Thursday and it was 22 this morning:) Happy Easter to you sir!
Great shave chris! I can't wait to get the razor I ordered. I was hesitant to spend that much on a razor but after thinking about it, it really isn't that expensive for US made 316SS. AND rod and mandy ate the cost of the batch of razors last year, so I'm happy to support a business like theirs.
I hope you enjoy the razor Ben. I think you're right..... Give that this is 316L, made in the U.S, and well packaged, it's not a bad price for a premium razor. Go easy with it because this razor brings it:)
I think the fact that people focus on bladegap mostly is due to the fact that most makers when they want to dial up aggressiveness;, they seem to just widen the blade gap a bit and call it a day. I think that it is the less invasive way of doing it as it allows to increase the razor's aggressiveness without substantially changing its geometry which would be more akin to coming up with a new razor rather than a more aggressive version of the same model. If the same razor has a larger bladegap then indeed it is more aggressive, but if you bring a different razor into the comparison then bladegaps are meaningless because we are now in an apples to oranges scenario. Great vid Chris, and congrats to the Winners, and to Stirling on their razor.
Really enjoy your videos. One thing that I have picked up from your videos that has really made a difference in my shaves is the water misting bottle. I got one and it really makes a difference. I get just the right amount of water on my face and if the soap begins to dry too much on my face I can just hit it with the mist. Just what I needed. Thanks!
Iniquity for him was one of their 2020 blackfriday scents. I always pick up a few (or more lol) of their blackfriday scents every year, some of them are awesome and end up in the main line up, and they are only $8 for the soap and $8 for the splash, so big deal on taking a flyer on them. I have a Muhle r41 and thats nothing compared to the HA plate 😁 Have a good one! Steve
Hi Chris, I too want to take this razor with the Austin handle and the two combs of different aggressiveness but Stirling for now says that he does not ship internationally and the second problem is That some sellers in the United States and Canada ship the purchased items by invoicing the full amount so when it arrives in Italy our customs requires a true and own ransom to free your "HATEFUL UNACCEPTABLE" purchase. Thanks for the company and of course for the video and best wishes for a happy and peaceful Easter to you and your family 👋🇮🇹
Great shave Chris, the razor gap on the Stirling is compared to the Merkur Futur on setting 6. That’s a razor for many generations to pass it on to. The soap made a luxury lather as always, great stuff & congratulations to the winners:-)
Thanks so much RK. This razor feel even more aggressive/efficient than the futur opened up. It definitely brings it with the Hyper-Aggressive plate. I hope you have a great day sir!
Thanks for the hint about NYC Wet Shaving, see he hit 1K and I've enjoyed catching up with his vids. And I, like you, have learned to get the splash from Sterling right away lest it not be there next time...lol
Great shave! I was having a laugh because the other day when I was whipping a lather I put in too much water in the beginning and instead of starting over, I kept trying to fix it. It's been a long long time since I've had the issue and I know better than to try and bring it back. It happens. That's a great looking razor and I really like that it comes in such a nice case. Have any of these companies ever done a straight? I can totally picture one from Stirling with green scales that match their soap containers.
Thanks Shadow. The best way to save an over-hydrated lather is to add more product to it. You can save it that way but it's hard to bring it back otherwise:) I really enjoyed using this razor, it brings it:)
