Thank you for speaking up and supporting us in this hobby! It is truly something that should be talked about more, without fear of backlash for being honest
Thank you, sir. A lot of people are afraid of the fanboy backlash. Fortunately I do not now, nor have I ever cared about this:) We all need to push back and stand firm on it.
Glad you are talking about pricing. Most of us have 50 100 soaps etc we dont need to buy them we just like adding more scents to our arsenal. We dont have to buy we want to buy. If the prices are out of control then we wont buy.
I hope others will start to push back on it as well. I am not against price increases across the board, I realize this will happen. I am totally against price increases when they aren't modest or reasonable in the eye of the consumer. In hobbies we have to share the cost burden when prices go up. We have to pay a little more and the businesses need to accept that they'll make a little less. This is sharing the burden.
We all have a voice, but yours rings far louder than most and resonates more, so we are all very grateful to you for making a stand on all of our behalves.
Yep. At a minimum we can let them know this is a hobby, we don't have to buy it. We don't mind paying a little more but that cost burden should be shared. Inflation hits all of us and we're all taking a pay cut right now. We can pay a little more, and they can accept that they're going to make a little less also. That's a fair compromise in my view.
A while back I bought a tub of the Unscented Game Changer base, and shortly afterwards I got an email from Mark saying that he was adjusting the price on his soaps and that I could either have a five dollar refund or put it towards shop credit on my next purchase. I thought that was really cool of him to do, so I just told him to keep it. I can't wait until he has a full line of splashes to go with all of his different scents.
Hi Chris. I’m glad you got the blue Leaf. It looks great on camera. Never tried Denton Majik or Leaf products yet. Thank you for speaking up. I think it’s important as well. Have a great weekend.
Hey CDB. I just got a sample of Hot Laguna Nights and really enjoy the scent. I haven't used it yet so I'm curious to see how it smells when lathered. I'm happy to see that you are speaking out about the high prices of some artisan products. I'm looking forward to seeing who will be taking a trip to Wackville. Thanks for the video! Have a great day!
Thanks for speaking out about rising prices and for praising artisans who keep their costs down. I'm with you 100%. Happy Easter to you and your family.
Great shave session Chris! I am with you as far as supporting artisans who are reasonable with their price increases. There are too many artisans to choose their items and I will only buy from those that fit my budget. Thank you for your channel that gives no nonsense and truthful info about everything in wetshaving. It is a valuable service that I am sure every subscriber appreciates. Take care.
Thanks Chris for all you do. I love that Berry Blue colour and even though I have a Twig Thorn in Gun Metal, I would certainly consider treating myself to another one in the Berry Blue...WHEN it's back in stock! ;)
Denton Majik has some great soaps. I ordered the Hot Laguna Nights the day he dropped it and I’m glad I did. The KRS classic is great as well. It has a mutton tallow base that is fantastic. The post shave feel you are left with is unreal. It’s one of my favorite soaps period.
Great shave. Gonna have to try those samples he sent me, I used one but don't remember it very well. I love the artisans that keep the price down and are the ones I support. Have a blessed day
Very nice shave this morning Chris. The leaf in berry blue is an attractive razor. Denton Majik and Mark have the right philosophy in my mind.I agree I’m not for gouging , I understand price increases for legitimate reasons. I for one am looking forward to Wackville. Hopefully those residents of this new town will take note. Blessing and prayers for you and your family.
Thank you, Stephen. I agree, most of us understand price increases are necessary. The level of price increase and what the prices were before really matter. If you were already higher than most for years before, I don't want to hear a lot of complaining about costs rising:)
I was able to make it to April without a software purchase, I just received an order from Crowne and Crane with their latest releases. As always the scents are excellent and a great value. Have a great weekend.
Great shave, Chris! At some point, I plan to get a Leaf. Not just for me to use, but also to see if I can convert my wife over from using plastic cartidges. 😉 Cheers!
Thanks for beating our drum Chris! I am certainly making fewer purchases these days and asking choices based on price vs value. I’m afraid we may see a culling soon. Not going to go away any time soon. Thanks again. Best to you.
I agree Mack. I don't think that the artisans who are raising their prices too much realize the unintended consequences of doing so. A modest increase we understand, when it's beyond that it prices them out. People are being more selective and raising it significantly right now will hurt them even more in the long run.
@@IAMCDB Agree! I’ll just deal with the artisans who are giving FAIR value and not trying to soak their customers. Shipping prices matter, too! It’s all built into the final price.
Great shave Chris. I couldn't agree more about price increases. One individual made me an ex-customer by doing it then posting pictures and videos of his trip to South America, what a slap in the face.
Very nice Chris! I was just thinking it would have been cool to use a soap like razzel-berry sno-cone. I just made that one up, but if I made soaps, you can bet that there would be a mentholated blue raspberry soap and the soap would be blue! Hard to believe that someone would basically say the Leaf is junk. They have the numbers, reviews, and the design has stood up over time. Ridiculous! I had reservations and didn't try one for a long time, but the product won me over and I'm a supporter. You have to be measured in your words, because you'll anger some and they'll walk away from your product and never say a word. To be frank there's a lot of artisans/companies that have a lot of fat built into their product already and should use it to weather this storm if they want to keep customers. MSC has a good price, he's shipping from South Africa, and he's been making a living at it.

The email went on to say the price increase he was imposing was justified because this is his full time job, and not part time like so many other artisans. I like Doug and PAA and I will use their stuff. That said, he was already priced at nearly $25 for CK6, which was on the high side for years relative to the competition.
