I can't lie, I was almost disappointed at first, but going through it discovered how useful those basic skills are and how strong foundation they actually build. Thank you for that. I will save up for the other two tutorial packs even if I don't win them now

I just installed it threw stuff in it.... just to get a feel for it..... and just astonished about what all it can do. Now going back after mixing for a few days... to get a better understanding of the software itself. Organizing the wasn't too hard but being aware of the features that I didn't know were there.

Good stuff as always! One thing that bugs me about Rekordbox is keeping my genre lists updated after I've added tracks in the folders themselves. Best thing I've come up with is to keep my genre playlist names the same as the folders and then after I'm done stuffing new tracks I drag the folders over to Rekordbox. I get the 'replace existing playlist' promts but it seems its not readding/reanalizing the old stuff, just the new ones. Kinda wish there was an update playlist from folder feature of some sort. Any tips for doing this better ?
Can you show how to use the XP2 to control the record feature on Rekordbox? I am getting the ddj 1000 and it doesn't have the record buttons like on the ddj RZ. I thought it would be great to have this available on the XP2. Thanks.

@@phomzaraboon7688 i bought a new macbook (air 2020 with the M1 chip) couple days ago, now both work perfectly. before that i had a 2015 macbook air and i had to lower the buffer rate for rekordbox because there was some latency and glitches when loading tracks. serato worked great on both computers...
I had more than 1000 tracks on my Rekordbox. Today I opened the program and there was only 642. I lost half the tracks on my colection! (They still are on my computer, it is like I deleted them from my Rekordbox colection). Fuck, now I have to search for each one of them and add it all again and set CUEs and stuff... :(
All RCA cables are unbalanced, are you connecting it to the laptop or a controller? You'll need to ensure Rekordbox is set to output audio to your controller if you're wanting to use the connections on there.
@@paddywright6406 You need to set Rekordbox to external mixer mode. If you still have issues make sure your audio driver is installed correctly. We have a video about Mac's blocking drivers installing correctly so might be worth checking that out! Hope this helps
Been a serato user for a while now after being a vinyl dj for 30 years, I literally just load my set lists to usb plug it in laptop and drag them into serato and done,rekordbox seems alot more complicated, I don’t want my laptop memory full of tunes, I store all my tracks on a tower pc and just take the tracks I want for my set and put them on usb, I’d this possible on rekordbox without all this gobbledee gook, Im oldskool and not very tech minded lol most of what u said in this vid went over my head😂

Why is it impossible to manually move the pitch control to match the song that's playing? With Rekordbox I always have to push 'beat sync'

No, crossfader does not work on headphone cue, you can only turn on or off cue 1/2

To transfer songs to rekordbox DJ, you need to buy each song from like iTunes. A subscription on Apple music won't work?
Unfortunately you can't use Apple Music streaming subscription in any DJ application yet.

how do I connect these to my speakers. I have it plugged in with balanced RCA but only sound is coming out of the laptop. Any help ?
