Probably because she's obviously hiding something or he's already see the pattern (from the prev case) especially her opponent was the 'embodiment of lie' itself. It's Histrionic Personality Disorder, not just being shy. She uses these jokes to deflect from pretty much everything and gain attention. Yet when she gets that attention, she reverts to her real self- shy, awkward, not too great at receiving criticism, nor compliments. Her façade is a false confidence because flashy people are less ignored. They say most of the parents in Danganronpa games are abusive and this tends to be the trigger for most cases of this disorder, so my theory is she grew up alongside a sibling who was the favourite, and seeing them celebrated for being smart and attractive tried to imitate those traits. It eventually devolved into her being overtly sexual because she also got attention from guys when she did that, and probably teachers when her inventing ability began to show. Thus the "gorgeous girl genius" we know today. Knowing Danganronpa, if they do ever expand on her backstory, the parents would beat her if she didn't live up to her sibling's greatness, since it's super dark. Funny how Miu was supposed to be hated, yet we all just feel bad for her because real people like her have serious issues and it's just sad. I think partly it's because Japan is a bit more...closed off to sexual innuendo than the west.

Miu has way more reasons than not being able to have a relationship.
It's Histrionic Personality Disorder, not just being shy. She uses these jokes to deflect from pretty much everything and gain attention. Yet when she gets that attention, she reverts to her real self- shy, awkward, not too great at receiving criticism, nor compliments. Her façade is a false confidence because flashy people are less ignored.
They say most of the parents in Danganronpa games are abusive and this tends to be the trigger for most cases of this disorder, so my theory is she grew up alongside a sibling who was the favourite, and seeing them celebrated for being smart and attractive tried to imitate those traits. It eventually devolved into her being overtly sexual because she also got attention from guys when she did that, and probably teachers when her inventing ability began to show. Thus the "gorgeous girl genius" we know today. Knowing Danganronpa, if they do ever expand on her backstory, the parents would beat her if she didn't live up to her sibling's greatness, since it's super dark.
Funny how Miu was supposed to be hated, yet we all just feel bad for her because real people like her have serious issues and it's just sad. I think partly it's because Japan is a bit more...closed off to sexual innuendo than the west.

There is always more to character then what lays the surface. People always think miu is only the inappropriate person who no one should like. But she is actually likes helping people cause if she didnt she wouldn't of helped shuichi and kaede. Miu has a rough time with relationships but tbh my theory is that people use her just because she is pretty which can mess with someone's life.
