Yeah it was INSANE how loud it was, and feeling the entire ground shake when the Tyfon sounded was such a surreal feeling! Even with the industrial grade hearing protection i still had to look away and cover the exposed ear because it was that loud! I also feel bad for the people living across the street xD
@@RandomHamster That’s dangerous! I can barely stand below a higher roof with a horn without earplugs. Some people walking nearby cover their ears. Then imagine walking past this one!
@@mrwindz Yeah! at where i stood it was probably about 130dba which is WAY past the hearing damage level of 90ish! Järfälla has alot of stupidly plased sirens especially at Olovslundskolan where a single CA 370 is mounted not more then 3 meters of the ground... NEXT TO A SCHOOL????
I have a swedish friend that sent me a video of a siren test a few months ago. Meanwhile here in Hungary, our sirens are just abandoned. Hell my school’s air raid siren wasnt tested in like 7 years!
Dang! That's not good! Siren's are an extremely effective way of getting information such as gas leaks or air raids out quickly! And it's important that countries keep them working!
@@RandomHamsteryeah, its really sad to see them abandoned like that. The closest siren thats tested every month is a MoLaRi infront of the hospital in Szőny
Yeah in Norway you also use Kockum Sonics Tyfons as the Civil Defense Sirens only that the ones in Norway are made of 3 horns making a more alarming noise and a little bit louder at about 145 decibels :) But otherwhise its basicly the same xD
@@sandrad81 Well no, Norways sirens are 3 Tyfons on a disc. The product name is Tyfon MKD 75/3 Triple. Although since Sweden's sirens are smaller and more lightweight, more siren's where installed in Sweden. Norway has around 1250 and Sweden has around 4500. For some reason however the sirens in Norway are only run on 5-7bars of pressure insted of 10 like in Sweden. This greatly reduces the sound pressure. The MKT 75/370 in Sweden produces 144dba from my tests and 143dba from Kockum Sonics tests.
hz och decibel är inte samma xD. Men yeah dom trycklufts drivna låter med högre frekvens på sommarn och lägre på vintern. Kan komma till 350-360hz på vintern och 380-390hz på sommaren.
They decided it wasn't necessary probably. In countries with spinning sirens they often have a lower density of sirens and to cover all the necessary area they made them spin. In Sweden, most places have a really high density of sirens angled in specific ways to cover the most area and so the most people can hear them. Not only that but it would be difficult to spin these sirens around since they have a pneumatic tube with compressed air linked up to them.

How simple actually, just a horn :)
Yeah! Just a horn and a compressor, the newer ones are just a control box and speaker which is even simpler xD
Without the reverb, its not scary.
