- "My Son" is a remake of the 2017 French thriller "Mon garçon", starring Guillaume Canet. In the new film, Scottish actor James McAvoy stars as a father whose 7-year-old son goes missing from a campsite in an apparent kidnapping. With no script, the goal was for the actor and the audience to uncover the mystery at exactly the same time. Eve Jackson sat down with film director Christian Carion and his star to chat about this unusual project.

Watched this movie. So worth watching. And the fact that he did this without a script shows what an amazing actor he is. If you haven't seen My Son, I highly recommend it.
James McAvoy is one of the best out there, I can't wait to see this!
The scene where he breaks down watching his son's birthday party videos,the scene inside police van when he gets upset & rants at the cops for arresting him for hitting his ex-wife's boyfriend,the moment when he sees the bad guys carrying away his son towards climax...and all this is totally improvised..my god👏👏what a brilliant performance.
Interesting - I’m looking forward to seeing it. I think McAvoy is super talented to pull off the improvisation.

Ingenious idea and approach in doing a film! Quite innovative. To then pair it with a genius of an actor that is James McAvoy!
It would be interesting to watch both versions to see how they play out differently based on the different actors' reactions.

You need to have String nerves for it
Looks like a great thriller. If anybody can pull off an improvised script, its James McAvoy...but. what the hell is that director about "particularly the Anglo saxons can relate" it happens to all races ,creeds and colors.!!! He should have said it relates to all Parents that have lost a child to kidnapping.. if I didnt like McAvoys acting I'd boycott this fn movie.. i had to double take that comment, kudos for @debrahbarnes for catching that too. Sad this world still hasn't progressed!
