Cool video with running the uhf antenna wire through to car save the time insted when i did mine i cut it half way through the line and put a coax joiner in just incase i have to take the bullbar off saved me pulling the dash appart
Oh thats a good idea. I haven't heard of a coax joiner. Are they easy to fit or do you need a special tool? I might look into that for the 75 and the Hilux too!
Bcf sponsorship? Just started pulling my 75 apart today, Missus said it will never look as good as yours , I'll show her , probably not, your 75 is spot on mate 👍
The reason tjm welded the aerial tab closer to the middle of this bar in the first place. Was to avoid.the aerial been destroyed so quickly going through the bush. The hole in the bottom of the channel of the bar was the only place tjm could find to mount the big HF radio aerials. The only people back in the late 90’s that liked aerials on the very outer of the bars was the town person. This was so they could have a easy reference point for parking. I would guess most people today would prefer the aerial on the outer part of the bar. However this does have own set of problems on the modern vehicle.
It’s not just TJM. The ARB bar I put on mine had the two antenna mounts smack in the centre of the driver AND passenger’s vision. WHY would you design it like that? I did exactly what you’ve done here, and had them moved out nearer to the line of the A pillars. And it annoys the crap out of me that I had to do that!
You'd think they could make them like that from factory. Hopefully in the future. Glad you were able to change yours too! I think the centre ones are just for spot lights? Surely not just for antennas!
