It seemed like Jeremy wanted to cry when he got his package. I do have a message for anyone who gets offended when they get "handsy." Stuff it! They're married, in love, and enjoying each other. Everything they're doing is completely consensual, and it's rare to see that these days. It's the complete right time for them to get "handsy," and it's a good example of love and trust. They're both okay with it, and no one else needs to tell them otherwise. I, personally, think it's refreshing to see a married couple demonstrating their affection so openly. We're bombarded with inappropriate examples. We need more people following their example.
Wish I had that in my life. A few acres of land, a bunch of animals and a good woman to spend the rest of my days with. Thats the American dream...for me anyways 🤪
Exactly. My husband and I are "handsy" at home. Anybody has a problem with that don't come visit. BTW, we're both in our 60s and will have been married 20 years this fall. Thank you for standing up for affectionate people.
when you got the retirement badge I cried all that service and you're still working hard . then I realised this is the most time you been with your family as a dedicated policeman . I congratulate you on retirement. I think you and your wife are very brave on a whole new living off-grid,/ farm congregations. love john UK London all be safe. ps. barn looking good.
Congratulations .. Melissa Girl!! Small and mighty!! 💪 I seen you lifting the rail ties and you say "your built like a small boy" you make GROW MEN look like small girls!❤! I have been bing watching your channel randomly since i came across it a week or so ago and im loving it.. You guys are my favorite couple and channel.. Your love for eachother is not one you see in couples now a days and it is shown in every video .. Many blessings to you and your family!! ❤
@@GoodSimpleLiving ❤Your welcome ❤ Thank you for letting us all come along with you on your Journey. I cant wait to see another Live and start the Home build . ❤
Congratulations on your retirement package. As a fellow retired LEO I know the retired badge means a lot. On to new adventures and spending time raising a family. You made a wonderful choice.
Love the tool belt Melissa! LOL. You know, every time you show your land, I just can't get over how beautiful it is. You guys picked a great place to homestead and it's even big enough to build homes for your kids and their kids...awesome!
Like the idea of the kids helping you two makes it more of a family homestead! Keep adding the kids, your 16 yr old looks like she can do a great job!🐓🌽
Watching this process takes me back over 55 years ago when my older sister and her husband bought a concrete block building and room by room turned it into a beautiful home. He had left the military and was going to college to become a teacher of mathematics. They e done well building four other homes and still trying to do as much as they can themselves. They're in their early 80's and can't do as much as they have done in the past. Keep up the great work. I'm pulling for you! Blessings
Great to see you explaining how and why you do certain things in construction to your son, It is something he will always remember and will come in handy
OMG! Y'all, well, Melissa had me cracking up the whole time! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Steady eating those cookies. Congratulations, Jeremy! Obviously I was not one of the residents that you served, but to me all factions of public servants anywhere in this country is or has served me as well. So, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the hard work you put in over the years serving and protecting. It means the world to me that we have folks like you because when I travel I always feel better knowing there are folks out there that will help me even if I do not know them. Now, Melissa. Don't forget you owe me happy dance. Hope I don't have to wait for all the walls to go up too. 🥺🤪😉
Thanks for your service, Jeremy! I could tell when you received that package from the city that you're still transitioning away from that part of your life; it's just going to take some time, man! Let it happen at its' own pace, and give yourself the time for it. New phase, bro! Good work on the interior, too; I can see why you and Melissa wanted to do it this way... makes a whole lot of sense! Wish I could give you an extra pair of hands!
Looks like you are off to a great start. It is good to see a couple who work well together and enjoy each other. Young people need to see more of this kind of positive loving relationships. Thank you for your years of public service. Best wishes and have a blessed life!!!!
Melissa, you tell everyone that you do have your own tools. A family shares everything! In the same manner, Jeremy doesn’t need his own separate cooking and eating utensils. A family shares.
Great progress with everyone pitching in where they can! Congratulations on getting your retirement badge, Jeremy. Keep rolling safe with the family, brother.
I had a small house built in my storage building, I lived in the house and had an antique shop in most of the building. It was great!!! Really makes since.
I love these videos and your family. Makes me wish I was 50 years younger. I miss the outdoors and nature so much. Best of luck to you in all you do and keep the love flowing.
Jeremy, you should get hold of Dewalt regional sales rep and have him send a letter to Dewalt to get some 'product placement' advertising. You clearly demonstrate the ease of use and durability of their tools. Heck, you and Family should go for a full commercial!
Ha Ha Ha! Melissa, I loved your tool belt! And you eating your snacks while Jeremy was talking. So funny! You two are such a joy to watch. God bless you and your sweet kiddos!

One thing I would recommend, please get a microphone. A lot of your videos are hard to hear. Great family!
Best use for that tool belt. When you said you were going to have a tool belt my first thought was it would outweigh you. Girl just remember dynamite comes in small packages! Jeremy very awesome retirement placard and badge must have been an awesome department to work for. Looking good guys.
Melissa, girl workin so hard has to keep up her energy.*drops a cookie in her mouth *🤣 I love watching this build! Jeremy, congratulations on your retirement and THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE! 💜💙🧡💚 Stay well and stay safe.
Your package brought a tear to my eye as I look back on my retirement from the Air Force. It is always hard to give up something you love at the moment. I know police departments are like the service when it comes to the comradity of the men and women you work with! I know you will place that plaque with pride and you should. Melissa I love your tool belt. :) It looks great on you!
That is progress right there. You might require interior windows for lighting an some additional exit leading you directly outside of the barn cottage. Hats of to the City of Vancouver PD for the plaque and retirement badge.

Just a little hint in case your not familiar with doing drywall. Ceilings 1st, top wall sheet 2nd, and bottom wall sheet 3rd. Any pieces needed to fill in the wall should be between the 2nd and 3rd sheet. REASON; soo much easier to mud and tape while standing on the solid floor vs stilts on doing it on your knees if you filled in on the bottom. Keep up the wonderful job. Your a very fortunate man to have your bride working and helping to finish achieve your GOAL!. KUDOS
Reminds me of the 'shed' (24×16×15 gamble roof w/loft) my boys helped me raise on my 2.5ac in the California high desert!💕. I'm in North Idaho now, looking at 10ac this week...can't wait to put our build vids and pics to music. First thing I plugged into my solar was the Bluetooth speaker😁. Beautiful family you have. God speed patriots!
Put the seal plates on the floor where the wall's are going. The do in floor heat, other wise that cement will be cold in the winter. Get the ceiling framed and put the plywood on top. That way you can sprayfoam insulate (closed cell ) all the wall's of the barn, tiny home ceiling and the roof of the barn. Just throwing out idea's.( infloor heat and water heater and barn can be heated with an outdoor wood furnace, ) . Thing's are moving along very nicely. Enjoyed watching. Stay safe and healthy. God bless

Excellent point!!! I think there is a person sized door on the side of the pole barn but it's closer to the Jumbo Doors

Very nice honor. My father just retired LE after 36 years of service.
Absolutely love that you take the time to teach your kids!
Thank you for your service! A proud moment to be
sure! Building looking good! Thanks for sharing!
God bless
