    Thanks, David, for this tutorial.
    I only recently (shamefully) discovered Richard Thompson and instantly liked the song. I believe we all know something is special when it hits you immediately and strikes a chord, literally and metaphorically, inside you.
    I knew I had to learn it but it seems quite involved so a big thankyou shout out must go to all of you folk out there that take the time to put together something the rest of us sometimes take for granted.
    Back in the day I had to try and work songs out by 'ear' using tapes. Remember them? Stop, rewind. Stop, rewind and there was, occasionally, a nuance of a chord I couldn't quite get so praise be to RUclips and to all of you who make learning music that bit easier!!! One of a few things the digital age has brought as a positive!!

      Thanks for watching! I remember learning by tapes very very well. Recording over old Just William tapes from the radio and spending hours rewinding and doing my best to work it out with my ears. Good practice that has been useful throughout my career so far!

    I am a disabled guy and not currently working. I play the guitar for pleasure and to relax and these lessons and free tabs are a blessing to me and I'm sure many others. I wish I could contribute financially towards your channel and this amazing resource, it deserves to be supported. Your kindness, patience and the time you put into it is greatly appreciated.

    You are a fantastic guitarist and I know you would make any guitar sound great but honestly although I watch loads of RUclips videos where they play and compare different vintage acoustics and electrics with each other and different amps etc etc I usually think it's a bit crazy to try to compare and judge tones when I'm listening through my lap top into an old cheap sterio amp and speakers BUT when I heard you do this lesson on Beeswing on that Kalamzoo acoustic the tone quality hit me big style. It sounds fantastic. Your teaching style is also spot on by the way.

      @@DavidDelarre Thanks so much for replying. This is such a small point, but hopefully i explain it better. At 12:28, you say 'repeat' but the second time round on the repeat you do it slightley differently. Instead of finishing on the Bminor, you finish on the Dsus2? if not ignore me. Either way, im getting so much from learning this, its fantastic!!

    So brilliant putting this up, explained so well, means less able players like me can learn fave tunes like this (slowly!), thank you(isn't the very first chord Asus of some sort rather than D? ie. 3rd & 4th string on 2nd fret - probs no difference)

    • @DavidDelarre
      @DavidDelarre  2 года назад

      It’s a D for me because the song is in G. So in my head it starts on the V chord which makes more sense than starting on the A… it’s the same notes it’s just how you interpret it.

    Hi David, any tips on nailing bar 4 of the intro, ie Asus to Bm7 chord change?

    • @DavidDelarre
      @DavidDelarre  3 года назад +1

      Hi Richard! It’s a tricky movement. I would just strum the two chords as if they were minims (ignoring the tab etc) and play to a click. Every other beat change chord. Then increase the tempo as it feels a bit more normal under the fingers. Good luck!
