He’s part of many of the most greatest movies of all time
Not really.
@@sj4632 Godfather 1-2, Scarface, Carlito's Way, Serpico, Donnie Brasco, Scent of a Woman, The Devil's Advocate, and a lot of other movies, they all are classic, and most of them are masterpieces.
@@betraid None of those are "greatest movies of all time" material imo.
@@sj4632 For thousands millions of people in the world they are, and i don't pretend that they are greatest to everyone in the world, everyone has different tastes, but i certainly can say, that movie critics around the world and the community who saw all of this movies give them a high positive ratings. That means something don't you think?
@@betraid I respect people who think that.
I'm pretty sure he was about to name the movies and then the reporter stopped him
Think so too
AFI too good for his response
Yeah, what an asshole
@Trophy Robot because he stopped him
No he was actually not wanting to say what movies he thought were the best you fool. It's obvious.
Al Pacino, can you live forever please? We need people like you.
CorkusHawk You need people like him so you can point your f*****g fingers...
So what does that make you? Good?
You not good... you just know how to hide
Me, I don't have that problem...
I always tell the truth even when i lie
"My favourite film is-"
"THANK YOU SO MUCH"
Singing in the Rain is good.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ha!!
Never seen Thank You So Much before. Who's in it?
Scarface, and The Godfather are my fav Al Pacino movies
You’re god damm right
What’s good jmw 9 years ago 😂😂😂
@@OhNightfall Are you guys being suggested this video, or did you somehow find all my old comments? lol. I keep getting replies on all my old comments from 10 years ago this week, idk why
jmwFILMS nah I was just watching this and saw ur comment love the vids
jmwFILMS I got recommended
He said that one of his favourite is "The Tree of Wooden Clogs" an italian movie by Ermanno Olmi. A real masterpiece! Great choice Al!
Dan Martinazzi I was searching for that as "Trigger wooden clogs" 😂
I don't even know what that means but I didn't know how to get the name correctly. Thanks a lot.
Giuseppe Z94 ahahaha
idiot.
@@ymm4626 loser
Boring movie.
He doesn't want to say because his opinion carries so much weight, so he avoids answering. Singing in the Rain is a safe answer.
noone can answer such a question REALY... me - an sure he also saw 10 000. 20 000 movies.. i would need to think about 5 years or something to give you king of a good answer... because even if i take a week and make a top 20 list i am prett sure in some months i remeber 5 other movies witch should be in and 3 witch should be out ... if u show me 10 movies and ask me - whats the best of it - thats easy. but tell you whats the best or the best 20 out out of 20 000 is very very hard work - no chance to give a quick answer - and if u do this answer is very bad :)
Michael Reiter No matter the numbers of the movies he saw I am verry sure that he has 1 or 2 that he can call it a All Times Favourite.
I love movies very much and yes there are a lot of movies that I enjoyed but at the moment I have only one Favourite. Mr. Nobody.
i dont got... and if i would tell you i would regret ir tomorrow
- cause i got 50 or 100 witch are all my all time favorite.. all on same plae - all great on a diffrent way
For me it doesn't carry too much weight at all. He's an actor, not a filmmaker or a critic.
I get the feeling that he doesn't want to look snobbish either. He brings up The Tree of Wooden Clogs, which is indeed a great film, but when you're on the red carpet and you name-drop a 3-hour Italian film from the 1970s, it's not necessarily a good look. When he follows that with "But they're different kinds of films", one gets the impression that he's self-conscious over that as well. Hence the safeness of an answer like Singin' in the Rain.
I hate when people get obsessed over narrowing it down to just one favorite thing. He had 6; tell him he can name all 6!
Well, alot of people have 1 movie at the top of their list they always use as an awnser, Al might've that too. Even though i've seen probably 3000 films,my go to awnser is always Chinatown
Guido Anselmi good old jack ;))
Exactly.
No man you Can have 1 favorite, Thats having a personality. But let him name his 6 favorite yes.
@@FreakieFan from when is that movie and what is it about?
*The scent of a woman* is definitely in my TOP 5.
absolutely
And if you didn't know he could actually see you'd think he was actually blind
He was that damn good
My favourite one
@@shoeplayisbad1 he could smell it tho
I'M IN THE DARK HERE.
It’s a bad Al movie
The sounds he makes at the end lol
Heeueh... Yeh.
He should have said, "The three I did with John Cazale."
He has been in so many great movies. His acting is superb.
what a shame the interviewer interrups him
Your dp is on point with the comment......you usually comment like these?
@@problemstube7266 so it only took 9 years for someone to reply him
@@elkevinski lmao
Pacino mentions "Tree of Wooden Clogs", one of my favorites, too.
Stunning Italian masterpiece. Highly recommend!!
He wanted to say Pixels but that would have been too controversial.
Weekend at Bernie's also
Pacific Rim 2
Such a great person. You can hear he's being absolutely genuine. A wonderful human.
Get your comment after years bro!🙂👍☯️
I'll msg again so that you get nostalgia of the time you commented.😃😃
Mine is the Godfather but I guess for him is politically incorrect to say it
Exactly what I was thinking
chaska mena an you plz explain what is the political reason ?
alotaebi Amjed probably cuz he was in the godfather as the role of Michael Corleone
still has nothing to do with pc though
There's nothing political about that
Wow! 'Tree of Wooden Clogs'! I'm impressed, Al! Last one I expected, as different to 'Singing in the Rain' as you can get. He couldn't have made his point better that there are 'all kinds of movies'. Takes a great movie star to know a great movie, maybe.
Most of you knows only American cinema. Al Pacino knows much more, for this reason has got a wide and better taste!
Because shes got a ... b.. GREAT ASS!
I agree with you.Al is my favourite actor...I love all the movies that he played in.Especially ''Serpico"
One of mine too if not my fav of his.
alpacino you are ths best actor in the world i love anything about you movies spetch allllllllllllllllllll tanks for make us happy fan morrocco
Al is so humble. He one of the greats.
I was expecting him just to say
"Scarface"
Then walk off xD
I always tell the truth, even when I lie.
Every time I’m feeling down I come and watch this video
A remarkable contrast to when Clint Eastwood was asked the same question. He just rattled off the movies, no evasion, no checking out the “appropriate” reply.
Clint = pure class.
Yeah a guy having to actually think about what his all-time favourite movie is - no class at all
Fuck Al Pacino. This comment has made me realize that Clint Eastwood is the only good actor nay, only good person to have ever graced humanity with his existence. From this day forth I shall watch nothing but Clint Eastwood films as I now see that the worshipping of his excellence is the only true path to enlightenment. Thank you for opening my eyes to just how much of a Hollywood shill this Al Pacino guy is.
@@Ethan-tn4jc Ah, thanks for agreeing with every word I said, Ethan. Good lad.
Scent of a woman, was such a masterpiece
We need more actor like you.. You are truly a gem...
The man has been in the two greatest film of all time. Love you Al. ❤️
Daniel R more than two
Yeah Scarface and Scent of A Woman.
I love the contrast of Pacinos character in the Godfather and Dog Day Afternoon, hard to believe it's the same guy playing them^^
Called acting. Bosse!!
He knows exactly what they are, he has his reasons why he didnt disclose them.
The godfather, the godfather part 2, panic in needle park, dogs day afternoon, serpico, and justice for all, cruising…he did all those movies in less than 10 years 🤯🤯🤯
Tree of wooden clogs.
Holy shit, Pacino has great taste. Like who's heard of that except movie buffs.
Comment makes no sense.
I suspect Al Pacino may not be completely unfamiliar with the world of cinema.
@Ali Adam I'm not, no. Are you going to explain the reason for your comment, or was was showing condescension your only goal?
@@koalabandit9166 He heard about this cinema thing once or twice
Hes soo Hubble. God bless you always with many years of life health & hapiness Al Pacino.
THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY BEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nop
Yeah u probly are High!! Hightower
I saw an interview of Pacino years ago, and he did say one of his favorite movies of all time was " Event Horizon ".
I love all of your movies, Mr. Pacino.😍
singing in the rain is good...heh heh heh heh
heh heh heh heh
More like... "Singin in the Rain is good, Heh heh heee. HEH."
Hearing Al Pacino's honest answer is just the most wholesome thing ever
Funny enough some of my favorite films feature Al Pacino and he is phenomenal!
Of him is Godfather 2. Of all time ROTK
I have a special place in my heart for Carlito's Way. I think it is a very good movie that just doesn't seem to get the same props as some of his others.
@Divine_D That subway scene is absolutely fantastic. Very suspenseful, and you can cut the intensity with a knife. Very well directed by De Palma, and excellent acting all around.
Al wasn't being rushed..he said he would need a while to think about them.....meaning "I dont have all night". The interviewer interpreted that wisely and let him go in short order. 5 Stars for the guy with the mic. Must read between the lines folks!
Al was clearly happy and even willing to stop. Not something he does, that red carpet who are you wearing time's up bs. If you asked me to name my five favorite movies, I'd tell you you I can't. This is true. We could start with my favorite two hundred or so but we'd be risking the probability that certain titles would remind me of yet another. In no particular order. Still, it's all kinds of fun to see Al having a good time and actually trying to answer a truly stupid question.
I love Scarface and Godfather too. My top-2. Love to AL from INDIA..
Mis películas favoritas de niño son la saga de Volver Al Futuro e Indiana Jones...
Pero ahora, ya de 21 años... Mis favoritas son «Spartacus (Stanley Kubrick)» y la saga de «El Padrino»
I love this man.
Legend. De Niro's my all time favourite actor, but he's a pretty close, solid 2nd. Scarface, The Godfather Trilogy (he was still excellent in the 3rd), Heat (my all time favourite film), Carlito's Way, Donnie Brasco....SO many...
I like them both but you can type cast Mr DeNiro more
@@shoeplayisbad1 Heat? Dirty Grandpa? I beg to differ.
@@amjh4lah809 you can disagree
I love both but again you can type cast Robert more
Dirty Grandpa was absolutely hysterical
@@shoeplayisbad1 I know! But thats what I'm saying?! How can you typecast him when he's so different in Heat or Goodfellas compared to Dirty Grandpa?!
@@amjh4lah809 because in all films he's a type of authority figure/ cop bad guy but good guy type
There's exceptions but you can type cast him more than Al
I do love both of them
Taking number three, that was great
very funny
The best actor ever ! Legend!
Scarface and Devil's Advocate are his best.
@Michael Sweeney Fuck no.
Dog Day Afternoon is a sleeper movie that is certainly great. Donnie Brasco...loved the way he allowed Depp to be Depp, and showed just how versatile he (Pacino) is. All the other obvious ones....of course.
Normal Peoples:

The Godfather , Scarface, Scent of a woman , Serpico, Dog day afternoon... i really REALLY love that guy ... his acting makes the movie masterpiece
"What's your favorite movie Al Pacino? " - "I don't know there are many, none of them are ones in which i played in, but I can't put them all in one place, cant decide, SINGING IN THE RAIN IS GOOD, bye" Reporter *mindfucked*
My favorite Al Pacino Movie is "Scent Of A Woman". The speech is unbelievable.
“Singing in the rain”? I think it is a great movie, but not the kind of movie, i would have thought he would pick.
If Taxi Driver his favorite film, than I leave behind me everything and come straight to him to hug him.
Did anyone like “Scent of A Woman”
i di it’s beautiful
OF course
Yees!!
@PunisherFran It is from the game Elder Scrolls V Skyrim. In that game, guards can be talked to without provocation, but they only have stock dialogue. One of the random things they say is: "I used to be an adventurerer like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee."
Every guard in Skyrim can randomly say this, thus this meme was born
Scent of a Woman helped me realize what it meant to be a man. I cried during the hotel argument scene. Powerful stuff from pacijo
I love you so much and you are my forever actor and to be in heaven forever
Al said that The Godfather trilogy was most hard for him to play. But i think, The Godfather trylogy is the BEST EVER MADE films.
Heat is still my all-time favorite film of his!!
Well that was worth the upload wasn't it?
Now we all can disconnect from internet forever.
Wow youtube's going pretty nuts with the ads now huh? Every other video I get an ad
The tree of wooden clogs...l’albero degli zoccoli in italian. A very good movie about the society in that area of Italy I come from
I quite agree. I suspect that he was about to say "Mary Poppins" or "The Railway Children". Now we'll know.
My personal Favorite Pacino Films.. In no particular order:
Any GIven Sunday
Scarface
Godfather Trilogy (1 and 2 Especially)
Scent of a Woman
Donnie Brasco
Dog Day Afternoon
Carlitos Way
Heat
Insomnia (Robin Williams was Great as well in this)
Frankie and Johnny
Devils Advocate
Oceans 13
Another great on of his when he was younger is called "The Panic in Needle Park" Francis Coppola who wanted Pacino from the get go in the Godfather.. however the Studio Heads did not like Pacino at all... and felt he was not a strong enough actor to carry the film... Coppola played the studio execs and 8 minute scene from "Needle Park" and they were sold.. I though that was interesting.
I would like to see another film.. A good one with Pacino and Deniro like Heat... both these actors are Similar but so very different in their acting..
The thing abut Pacino is he brings a certain Genuine intensity to his characters that few actors are capable of..
I have not seen scarecrow but will check it out...
Dick Tracy is underrated
serpico?
The Irishman is coming for you buddy. Joe Pesci will be there too!
Leandro D Unpopular opinion here: While Serpico was not necessarily Pacino's best film, it was certainly his best performance.
I liked Pacino in Chinese Coffee surprisingly much! In Glengarry Glen Ross as well... what a performance!
I admire this man.
Notice he didn't mention the movies by name...that means he is in at least one or two of his favorite movies! the man is just being modest!
Actually he was criticised for having a bad accent in the movie Scarface.HIs first scenes were not to great but he did get better throughout..Still a damn good movie
Absolute legend.
Every movie hes been in♥️
I met Al near the Letterman show back in
'96. I was grabbing my camera from my car to shoot Sex Pistols that night when I see Pacino talking to an acquaintance so I got something to write on and had Al sign it while I yell him how important "Scarecrow" and "Panic In Needle Park" were for me.Supernice to me.
the interviewer wasnt in a hurry, Pacino's assistant/publicist was getting ready to take him away/move him along
Scarface Wow man what an astonishing intense acting i have ever seen
The Outlaw Josey Wales. Best Western Ever! I wonder what it would have been like with Pacino?
Heat, Carlitos Way and Any Given Sunday are 3 of my top ten of all time. He should have just turned to the guy and said- "these are your questions? What movies do I like? DON'T WASTE MY MOTHER FUCKING TIME!!!"
The Godfather!
High as a kite and I answer questions like this as well..... any question.
What was it like to work with Marlon Brando?
I really needed to know this in 2021
''The Tree of Wooden Clogs'' original title ''L'albero degli zoccoli'' from director Ermanno Olmi.
I'm sure Olmi would have been happy about it.
One Of The Most Humbled Kings Of Hollywood
He looks twenty years younger than he is. Fuckin' miracles.
The Godfather, The Insider, HEAT, Serpico...so many great movies
Mine is Godfather and Star Wars!
Very good 2 of the very best.
The Godfather, the shawshank redemption and Pulp Fiction for me, not in any order there.
ttv0 Add in the usual suspects
Al Pacino Oh hell yes, Kevin Spacey's best performance in my opinion.
Godfather part 2 by far his best performance. There are a lot of other great movies he did. I love scent of a woman his performance and speech at the end was amazing.
just saw blood diamond that movie was amazine!! TRULY AMAZINE
The last great movie was the Insomnia (2002)...Before this : The Insider (1999), The Devil's Advocate (1997), Donnie Brasco (1997), Heat (1995), Carlito's Way (1993), Scent of a Woman (1992), Scarface (1983), ...And Justice for All (1979), Dog Day Afternoon (1975), Serpico (1973) and Godfather's Trilogy (1972-1974-1990)...And this guy has just one Oscar ?!?!?!
Thanks a lot for posting this - interesting answer
Carlito's Way is my fave. De Palma and Al at their best.
I think they were calling him and he did it just so that he can let him go....because al pacino is very nice in real person and he wouldn't leave just like that
my favorite movie from him is for all time the godfather part II - in this role he has give all what he have and with this movie he created one of the most important movies of all time!
He is my favorite actor
A lot of people most likely will say they like Scarface the best out of all of Al's roles. But I like Heat where he played opposite Robert DeNiro as Lt. Vincent Hannah, the coked up in your face cop xD!
lol he's so awesome, singing in the rain is my mum's favourite movie :P
When you are there in every great movie...
Scarface will always be my top movie of all time
The Godfather Trilogy, Dog Day Afternoon, Serpico, ...And Justice For All, Heat, Scent of a Woman, etc. etc. etc. Al Pacino is one of the best actors in film history, no doubt about it :)
What a laugh! ;-D
Thanks for posting!
When you watch 500 movies every year and they ask which one is your favorite.
