all Opeth instrumentals are a bunch of masterpieces!
Aren't they?! They're what drew me in. My cousin and I started playing guitar at 11 and 14 years old, and throughout the years we'd periodically try to one-up each other. Anyway, I think I was about 15-16 when he started playing all these acoustic/clean little instrumentals/instrumental sections from this era of Opeth, and I immediately wanted to play them, too lol
'Cause they're really fun to play! Lol...some things are just really satisfying to play, in my experience, and basically all of the instrumental stuff like this from Opeth belong on that list.
Really soothing and catchy instrumental. For those who know the monster riff about to come in the next song, brace yourselves! Cheers
@Zedrik Allen There is a light coming down on me!
@@zamfir2005 There is a doubt that is clearing
Monster riff is the perfect definition for Master's aprentices
Ah the light is cumming down on me😩
The title makes it sound like a song about mourning friends you've lost, but the fairly upbeat instrumentation gives off the vibe of celebrating their lives and time you had together. It's definitely one of their more relaxing songs
Miss you Pops
I’d like to state that Opeth alongside this very track is so far my best music discovery of 2021.
Same with me, listened for the first time this year and I'm amazed with Mikael's compositions. Really one of the best bands I've ever listened to
@@caioscotini7894 I know this feeling, I really do… plus their instrumental tracks are another level of depth, love it!
@@oiluanax Yeah, and the combition between the clean and growl vocals, the clean and agressive instrumental parts... Everything is just beautiful, I think even non metal listeners would like some songs
Same feeling; different years. My discovery happened in 2020 and they became my all-time favourite band in no time!
Have you ever listened to Soen? If you liked this softer side of Opeth, chances are you'd enjoy most of their songs.
This track helps soothe a mind ridden with anxiety.
This tune is so.... So.... Perfect. So chilling, so still.... I love it. I live it.
For my dad...
I miss you old friends...
This song touchs my soul in a way indescritible. I close my eyes and then comes the waves. A mix between a sweet melancholy and freedom. It feels like I am flueting on the air and my whole existence contempling the moment out of myself. Sounds like a crazy shit but damn... I love the way that music can be important for me and the conexition between it.
can i have ur ketamine
It does indeed sound like a crazy shit.
Been jamming then 20+ years, and they never fail to deliver. Opeth is just amazing.
Just discovered this. What a beautiful piece. Time to dive into Opeth…so glad I found this
For some reason when I listen to the entirety of Opeth's discography I find myself listening to Deliverance front to back the most, and it's not even my favourite album by them.
it's a very consistent album
I think I am an absent friend
Definitely an absent friend here, and can say that I'm the one feeling like this song. It could easily be labeled From Absent Friends as well.
This one, Reverie, and Silhouette. ♥
What a beautiful piece of music and so well played and recorded!
Pure.
Very beautiful track here.
Genesis has a song by the same name. Similar composition too
I miss so much my friend abroad...
Thank you opeth
Very pleasant on the ears! 🎼🎸😁😎
So nice, a little fusion jazz ❤️
If this is your jam... Look up '' Go by Train ''
Is that the artist or album or name of a song?
Edit: More suggestions for songs like For absent friends?

@@batphink2655 Thanks buddy, appreciate your words a lot
Hey @kitty5308. I hope ur doing well. Here a teenager also lonely.
How are you really. And I'm ready to talk if you wish. I'll be here :]
Altro capolavoro...
Opeth's best album by far!!! Blackwater Park in second. There is a nice version by the prog band Gilgamesh too.
I'm a lifelong Genesis fan, and got directed to this title - the same as an early Genesis track - from another YT site, saying that it was a tribute to Genesis. It's nice, but that's all (...ha! Unintended, but another Genesis title!) I don't really hear the similarity, apart from it being acoustic - but no vocal, and it's a different style. Sounds more like a Pat Metheny reject - but Pat's rejects would have made stupendously good albums for many other artistes!
it has nothing in common with the Genesis song, it's not a cover.
Mikael just names albums/ songs after other albums/ songs he likes, such as Blackwater Park, Master's Apprentices, My Arms, Your Hearse, Goblin, etc.
Opeth meets Diablo 2 Act 1
ah kalbim
naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaais
I urge you to listen to the piece with the very same name by Gilgamesh
como que alguém da dislike nisso bixo ? meu deus
Só pode ser algum troll, ou sem querer. Pois essa música é perfeita.
Compare the beginning of this song to the beginning of the song 0=2 by John Frusciante and Omar Rodriguez Lopez.
I can listen to this on repeat in my wood shop for hours. So beautiful. This Band is incredibly underrated. They should have main stream status in the West.
