Like A Version is a segment on Australian radio station triple j. Every week a musician or band comes into the studio to play one of their own songs and cover a song they love. Since 2004, many artists have participated, including Childish Gambino, Lorde, CHVRCHES, Tame Impala, Tash Sultana, HAIM, Gang of Youths, Halsey, DMA'S, Aurora, Arctic Monkeys. I have Slow Rush fever. It’s definitely my favorite direction he has taken his sound studio and live presence speaking. Cannot wait to see what could be next.
I already liked it a lot since I heard it, specially with the ending but after hearing it in concert, it sounds amazing, definitely one of my favorite songs so far

Anyway live in Perth so yeah always have some pride being a fellow local to Kev, at what he does. But yeah any Tame fan is good, to know there's others fans which is growing the fanbase aha
Kevin’s voice is at its peak. He sounds like an angel. Also this dj/synth band vibe is futuristic as hell.

i think Kevin Parker is just AMAZING as a musician , the way he express he´s feelings in every song is admirable. He sings like an angel , he do excelents simple riffs , he have perfect tempo on the drums , and he is so GOOD making new psycodelics melodies on the keys
His singing has improved SO so much since the Lonerism days, so cool to see an artist really try and improve their talents over the course of their career
The DJ element of the album is what makes it really a new territory for him, always reinventing himself
He's still not great at singing but he's at least better than he was 10 years ago. He tried to embellish his singing a bit in this performance, which did not really work.

So thankful to be alive during the time of Kevin’s music. Mind blowing to think we’d have missed his music if we lived another time. So glad I discovered Currents back in 2015, then backtracked and found Lonerism + Innerspeaker. Fast forward 5 years and now bopping to The Slow Rush. So thankful for Kevin for helping me through some of the worse times of my life and also present during the best times! ❤️

I'm turning 40 next year. I ONLY started listening to Tame Impala about 3 weeks ago. Lol I've been a marijuana user since I was like 18. I'm borderline shocked it took me this long to fully discover/embrace them (him). Cheers everyone.

On the release day of this album i checked the internet IMMEDIATELY to see if he sampled "Da Funk" by them 😂😂 the more i heard it tho it's deff not EXACTLY how that part in that song sounds, deff more of a nod :)
Roland TB-303 was used both in Breath Deeper and Da Funk.
Just seems like a general acid house influence than Daft Punk specifically

Excellent performance. Getting into The Slow Rush lately, but I’m addicted to Currents, and usually listen to the whole album at least once a day at the moment. Love your music.
Innerspeaker and Lonerism are definitely worth a listen too!!! Those are my two favorites but then again, I like everything he’s released 🤣

Sounds very full sonically despite lacking a rhythm section.
Kevin has a huge love for percussion instruments like drums, so I guess he used other ways to set tempos and add rhythms rather than obvious ways
