Thanks so much for this, Amy. For so long I've wondered how people use a floral knife without cutting themselves or getting horrible callouses on their thumb, and yes, from years and years of clipper use I now have chronic elbow pain and a pinched nerve in my arm from the swelling, SOOOO, this video was so timely for me!!! Thank you! I'm ordering some floral knives today!

I totally understand! I have all sorts of problems with my hands, arm and shoulders from poor posture, bad use of tools and so on. It's so important to care for our bodies and I am glad you are giving the knife a try! It really is the best for speed too!

I bought the same Victorinox Flower Knife (the blue one) as in the Video because I need it for my Hobby, "Hand drill" Fire drilling. 👍

Just made this purchase so I can practice. The clippers is really time consuming so hope I can get the hang of this. Thank you!

    Hi,
I am new to your channel and happy that I found you! I like the way you teach.
I bought a swiss army knife and I need to know how you sharpen it. I like a really sharp knife. I bought a sharpener from another designer recommendation, but it's still not sharp enough towards the base and I end up picking up the cheapy plastic one because it's sharper. I don't want to fight with my stems when cutting them. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!💐

Thank you so much for this video! I've been taking floral classes and they offer the knife as an option if we prefer it over the clippers. It just sits there on my table because I, and everyone else in the class, am so hesitant and it honestly scared me...Okay, maybe I scared myself with images of me slicing my thumb off in the middle of class. Now, I honestly feel like I should give it a try. Again, thank you! :)

My pleasure! It feels scary but is such a worthy effort as it saves time, your flower stems will thank you and your arm, hands and wrist!

Hi Amy! Thanks for this! Could you please post a link for the hooked Victorinox knife? I could only find the straight one. Thank you!

Could I use a knife when harvesting flowers from the field? I grow and arrange flowers and I am experiencing wrist and forearm pain from using my clippers... I'm thinking I'll use a knife as much as possible going forward.
