This is great! I am a beginner water colour painter and I am working out colour theory for the first time and trying floral painting. RUclips is amazing. Thank you this is very helpful and refreshing!
This is the best explanation of how to arrange your flowers. I took a semester at a community college and I loved it so much. However, the teacher the never mentioned he color wheel to us. I guess it was just the basics. So, I-now understand to arrange by color. Thanks so much 😊
Thank you, i'm so glad to hear this. Understanding not just the colour wheel but all of the elements & principles of design is so important as a floral designer.
Your set design is absolutely gorgeous. Well done. Thank you for all the tips. I'm in the middle of a great life change and decided to really invest myself into my cut flower garden to hopefully sell arrangements along with my produce at the farmers market. You're a huge help!
Thanks so much for your kind feedback & comment. I see this so often within my community transitioning into a more creative & earth filled life with growing & designing. We have quite a few new growers in our Membership. Where is your field/farm? When the time comes you might want to check out my Farmer Florists Collection, this is a mini course that will elevate your design skills, grow your confidence in pricing & marketing your flowers & opens up a whole new world of revenue streams for your farm. I'll add the link here to take a look.www.theivyinstitute.com.au/farmer-florists-collection Thanks again & good luck with your growing. N 🍂
Thats grea to hear. Have you heard of instagram.com/grown.not.flown/ ? I'm currently running a series of masterclasses with them specifically for flower growers. These session are very low priced & will be full of value. Maybe i'll see you there! Nadine

Thank you so much for explaining the color wheel in detail. I love arranging flowers and that will help me to be more confident in the flower choices. ❤
Thank you for this creative inspiration! I love the purple and yellow as well as the orange and yellow combinations!! I am excited to put this to practice!!
Incredibly generous of you to create and share this educative resource. This is such a complex subject and I think you’ve done a wonderful job in presenting it in 16 min - love the tip of when to use hot colours and lighter /muted colours.
Hehehe, Gday to you! where are you from and where are you studying? I share many more designs, mentoring tips & support via my IG & inside The Greenhouse membership. Would love to see you over there too.
Goodness! Your color choices are exquisite as well as your flower choices. I love the movement of these flowers. Can you share the name of the white flowers with the long stems shown in your first arrangement? Thank you ~
Thank you, that's lovely of you to say. These are an Australian Native called Flannel Flower, the texture of the petals actually feels soft like flannel fabric.I'm glad you found this tutorial helpful & beautiful to watch.
Any time! thanks Janice. The best place to get access to me personally & everything i offer from tutorials to guest interviews, resources & VIP discounts is via my Greenhouse Membership, just $22 a week with no lock in contract.www.theivyinstitute.com.au/greenhousemembership

Hi this video keeps coming up in my feed. I use floral art to help people feel better about their mental health. Please can someone associate feelings and positive emotions to colours of her colour wheel that they have actually experienced customers say workers
I used to teach floral design to a group of careers of terminally ill family members & they found it so very helpful for their own well being. colour has a massive effect on emotions, would love to also hear what people have to say about theri own experience, as everyones is different. Thank you 🙏🏻
Florist for 30 years. Color theory is a myth. The color wheel is for decorators NOT florists. We are seasonal floral designer. Exp. Picture a bright blue and yellow are in your home. No. We design spring colors for a spring order. Fall colors for a fall order. We stay in the season. Color wheels put non seasonal blends and you loose. Focus in the design. The split complimentary becomes a confusion No cohesive feel in any interior
I think it can be fun to use this idea sometimes. I do use it myself at times (mind you, I’ve only been working as a florist for a year, but I do have education and training in other arts where I worked with colour theories and even colour psychology). Though I do go more with a balance of colours and their hues or shades.
thanks for sharing your opinion, as you can probable guess I do disagree. As designers i think its imperative we understand the colour wheel in all of it's shades & tones when we design especially for interiors. We may have our favourite harmonies but it's important to expand our knowledge as well as meet a clients brief.
@@theivyinstitutethank you. I understand where she is coming from, but nature is not influenced by ones preference, one only has to look closely. Seasons melt together and we are drawn slowly, almost magically into the next stage. The artist's looks past the design and uses his brush, shape, stroke of brush to stir the imagination. So it's not only design, but a myriad of personalities. Nature is not stagnant, and neither are we. Love it!
Beautiful…the last bouquet is my style and attracts me ❤🎉
